Ladies pose by the stall run by actress Miss Lily Elsie (Mrs Ian Bullough) at the Albert Hall in aid of the funds of St . Dunstan's Hostel for blinded soldiers, a charity founded and run by Sir Arthur Pearson. The bazaar was opened by Queen Alexandra on 7th May 1917 and ran until the 10th. Sir Arthur Pearson in a speech on the occasion explained the After-Care scheme, which was designed to rehabilitate and forward the interests of those who passed through St. Dunstan's as well as those still there learning trades.
