OH MY GOD TALK ABOUT MASTERMIND SHIT
Alright, let me start the story by saying I have a friend (let's call her Sam) and she's really pretty but a little bit of an airhead. This is gonna be vague because this happened two years ago but it's pretty fucking impressive????
One day, after her and my two other friends got together (i was sick) after school, they told me that she received a text from an unknown number. Weird but it happens in our country (or to everyone) so we didn't really paid attention to it. Well– except Sam, because they were flirting with her. She's only in for the shits and giggles but she started giggling like a lovesick teen because of them.
Days passed, another gossip from them popped up. Sam has a stalker now. Apparently, Angie, other friend of mine, suspects it's the guy they saw in the mall the last time. Sam takes this like it's a compliment because, again, she's an airhead.
Days turned to weeks then months and another thing happened. Apparently (again), Sam is talking to her ex. They're good friends according to her because of their parents so they're still talking. She still has access to his account and could see the people chatting her ex. There, she saw a message from a girl named Jess, dissing her. (She's saying Sam is being a slut talking to multiple men) Sam is not the type of girl to back down easily so she opted to dig for more information. Jess never said who she really is but she mentioned information that could only be found in a specific gc Sam is part of, another group friend she's part of, and that's when she asked us for help.
Me and my equally dumbass friend Angie investigated like idiots. We listed down the people we suspected.
• H - An Angel, honestly. Suspicious but she's legit nice.
• A - Tbh, I don't like her but she's fun. We suspected her first because she disses Sam irl.
• R - The pretty one with a possessive bf. She has Sam's email address in her and her bf is literally a freaking hacker
• S - The most suspicious because she always fought with Sam and has a crush on a guy Sam is flirting with.
Eventually, Sam couldn't take it anymore and confronted them. (We didn't know she's going to so we sat there like ducks (we squatted on the ground while they cry from accusations and breaking their friendships I guess)) None of them owned up so basically, they pretended everything is fine the next day.
Sam, however, couldn't take it and decided to look on her own. (Me and Angie was still helping despite her knowledge) She eventually went to her ex –let's call him Dan– to ask for help. He agreed and actually helped her look for this Jess person.
Now, at this time, OJT is starting. Me and Angie are assigned from a different place from Sam so we kinda missed out on some stuff. However, she sent us new pics and we found out that this Jess person has new things to diss about her. The thing is, this information is not on the previous gc she with her other friend group. It's in their research gc where Angie is part of. It rules out two of the suspects (H and R). Though, the new diss gave us a little bit more clue?
Jess was still saying she's a slut for flirting with multiple men. It's true (NOT THE SLUT PART) , because the previous day, she's was indeed flirting with a guy. Except it wasn't just a guy. It was our openly gay classmate. Sam's other friend group are also our classmates so there is no freaking way that Jess is our classmate because even a blind person could see that it's supposed to be joke.
At that point, me and Angie are so into it that we're starting to connect the dots. However, Sam made us stop suddenly.
Apparently, in our OJT times, she got back with her ex. They filed a report to the police (they didn't take it seriously because it's a private chat slander they said and Sam is the one snooping) and Dan blocked Jess.
Everything went well after that and we all forget about it.
Fast forward to next year, pir other friend, Jo, told us an update. He discovered something out of the blue. Remember when Sam had a stalker that we suspected works in a mall? Jo apparently asked one of his friend (context: we're in college now. I'm in a different school from them) who works in the mall if they knew someone with the same look as the one they suspect is hee stalker. To his surprise, his friend said yes but he left not long ago. They got a number though and do you know the number? It's the same fucking number that texted her in the first place.
The random texter and the stalker are the same person.
After we found out about that, our curiosity about Jess was sparked once again so we investigate. It made me question on how could someone know so much about Sam, yet so little? Jess is obviously spying on Sam through chats but who could it be? We really didn't know who could it be since we literally ruled out everyone who might have something against her that is in the group chats and is using all those information about her to talk shit about her.
Then we realized. We didn't actually investigate Sam. Not her, but her account. Her account could be a way for someone to use to. Someone might've hacked it.
And speaking of hacking, R's bf is a computer major and can hack. Coincidentally, he's in the same school as I am so i sneakily asked him. Surprisingly, he knows me. He knows all of R's classmates apparently (creepy but okay). He said that if someone is hacking into someone else's account, it should have sent a notification to the original owner about their account being breached. Sam apparently never get one.
Later on, it was Sam that completed the puzzle. Jo apparently gave her notified her about her stalker and the mystery texter being the same person. And she expressed her concerns because her bf is not acting like the one she used to date before their first break up. It's like he changed into a whole person. So, to confirm things, she called the number. And guess what? The phone rang in her bf's bedroom and they found another phone aka a burner phone in which her account is on. If Sam has an access to her bf's account, well, so does he.
The stalker, the mystery texter, and her boyfriend are the same fucking person.
Needless to say, she broke up with him immediately, called the police, and filed a report. Idk what happened after the police got involved but holy fucking shit it was one hell of a ride.
Dan fucking manipulated the whole situation so he could get back to her. What a goddamn plot. Writers, you might want to use this. I know he did a bad thing but what the actual fuck though. Actually, what the hell.
