The LIMA GROUP USA was founded for the purposes of organizing and supporting initiatives that utilize our networks as a medium for cultural, artistic and business development. We focus on and believe in the inspirational power of facilitating dialogue, exchange, and socio-economic progress. We are an advocate, a bridge to empower and a platform for connecting artists, ideas, organizations and resources. We also support charitable work, build partnerships and advocate for education, and cultural economy for global progress. Our mission is simple, yet intricate in the four principles we strive to achieve daily: 1) Commitment to Social Responsibility 2) Promoting Cultural Diversity 3) Empowering People and 4) Connecting Businesses. Through these four principles, we will create lasting relationships with REALM, MyLocalMusic.Asia and the Chinese government in order to bring social consciousness and awareness through the arts by creating unique Hip Hop shows for the local community. Throughout 2014, THE LIMA GROUP USA and REALM will co-produce a series of Hip Hop events in China starting in May. The first event is āThe Hip Hop Block Partyā from May 10 ā 11, 2014 in Shenzen, China, which will feature performances, artists' showcases, master classes and workshops. In 2013, REALM launched the inaugural Hip Hop block party in Shenzen, China, which was met with tremendous fan fare. Below is a synopsis of what took place last year: ļ¶ The ļ¬rst MyLocalMusic.Asia Hip Hop event , the āSZLM Hip Hop Festivalā, unitied local artists of all ļ¬avors and skills; it deļ¬ned the spirit of our Shenzhen music community. A team of 100 artists and volunteers from 15 countries, all based in SZ, organized this one-day festival. MyLocalMusic.Asia invited 20 sponsors and vendors to set up exhibition booths, and invited an additional 10 international and Chinese media companies to promote the event. As a result of this collaborative effort, more than 1,000 people attended the festival on that day held in F518 Idea Land, Baoāan. ļ¶ This year for the āSZLM Hip Hop Festivalā REALM and The LIMA GROUP USA plan to have: ā¢ Performances and crowd participation (i.e., teaching the art of āBreakinā and have individuals perform through an organized cypher.) ā¢ Cultural exchange by establishing/creating sister-city relationships between Shenzen and the world. ā¢ Communication between local and international artists in order to create a working dialogue about the Hip Hop culture and its progression. ā¢ A mega block party to culminate the Shenzen Hip Hop festival. ā¢ A host of other mini-events. As the year progresses, we'll bring you information on local and international artist, performances, workshops and the many undertakings we're producing throughout the year in the collaboration of REALM and MyLocalMusic.Asia.
