LB ; the guard dog of the first circle of hell, known as limbo. tired and a little on the lazy side, he’s done with the fire and torture scene and has popped topside to stir up a bit of trouble and check on a few siblings. known for writing absolute bullshit in the magazine titled the moon, he tells humans half-truths about cryptids and other paranormal happenings in the world, usually with a punchline. possibly the most calm out of the original nine    ---   even if he’s not the best at listening to what he’s told. a free spirit; a “happy” little thing. look out.

"your little mate is going to get himself killed once he finally messes with the wrong thing." matter of fact. rutledge pauses, head turning to his younger brother with a smug grin forming on his expression. "oh, but he doesn't have to worry about that now with you, does he?"

fingers are quick against the screen of his phone for a moment, focus almost perfect as his brother starts in about a topic that seems to be a favorite lately. the initial intent is to tune him out; to let his brother’s voice be background noise as he answers a few emails from people who take time to write in after a new article of the moon hits the shelves   —   but then rutledge goes and teases him a bit about his newly-self-appointed role as a tiny guard dog. sometimes he wonders how cain lifted the rock over his head. and other times he knows he won’t be able to find a rock large enough. the word he’s trying to type becomes a mess that even auto-correct can’t seem to handle and the shorter of the two lowers his phone slightly as annoyance crosses his features. it makes sense, really   —   for his older brother to poke at this, in particular. even with the suit and the tie? the collar is noticeable, just like the marks sucked into his skin. owned. this is something that the other hound doesn’t fucking understand, something he clearly can’t. lb doesn’t feel like explaining   —   doesn’t even feel like humoring the train of thought that starts but, oh. there is a little fire in him, after all. one that puffs up without fail when blayne is actually mentioned. called his mate   —   something way too simple. lb wants to correct him but he doesn’t know which language to choose. he just knows that there are better words. better ways to explain. and he wants to shout them all. 

“no. he doesn’t. he doesn’t have to worry about anything with me here. i’m going to fucking keep him safe, no matter what.” stubborn. a little defiant, given how passionate he is about this very endeavor. his chin lifts for dramatic effect    —    but all he succeeds in doing is showing more hickeys. “you’re just underestimating him because he’s human. i’ve seen a few idiots make that same mistake and regret it.”

in order to function, lb needs to have crazy amounts of caffeine. he’s always drinking coffee or something stronger   ---   and this means his heart is always going like a hummingbird’s, apparently.

lb has scars around both wrists from restraints   ---   and several others elsewhere (over his heart, and across his lower back, ect.) from his first week topside when a pair of hunters found, captured, and tortured him until he experienced a death/reset. they tore him apart and sold his organs to those who do magic and made fucking bank, wonderful for them. anyway lb is lowkey traumatized by this and scared of hunters, especially. and he’s told 0 people about it. huh.
