I choose to play Mathland, Black Yeti, and Box... I have to say that I failed most of them. Let talk about Mathland, its wrong. (√ -1 is “i”, not NaN... which I can only guess to mean 'not a number', and that is soooooo wrong.. If your going to have a game called Mathland and put in equations like that at least say the right thing or let me answer the question. “i” is not a real number, but that does mean that it's not a number. It's called an imagery or complex NUMBER.... so I tried another equation in the game, I decided to try 1+1+1+1+1+1+1+...... but it crushed my computer so I stopped playing it.)Mathland is a 8-bit dungeon style game. I think that the game was set in Isolated view so that it was 2 dimensional. Then if it were me I'd set the walls with thin cubes and boundary scripts so that no one walked thru the walls. For the equations use 3D text that is scripted to reply … or have the player actually solve the problem. I'd then construct the player from cubes and script a movement function for it. I noted that all the math in the game as far as I got was all concepts, which is cool if you can answer not so much if its just going be a stand here and I'll tell you what I think you should be told.
Black Yeti is also a 2D game of the 8-bit variety. I'd do the the same set up for Black yeti that I'd have done with Mathland. Walls with boundaries and scripts to limit the move in space to the lighter colored areas. Having not gotten very far in the game I'm not sure what else I'd have done to make it.
Box, is a game for people with more patients then I have. Box is also a 2D game, but it reminds me of oddly enough of tic tac toe. If tic tac toe was invented by a mental patient on crack and who'se imaginary friends where playing mind games while clipping their toe nails... any rate the game is about moving these little objects in to boxes, but (at least to what I could figure out before I said smeg it) you could only move if two objects were moveable. To be honest I haven't a clue how or even why to do this game.
