the cottage isn’t…nice, exactly, or at least not by any human standards, but it works for them. they don’t mind the boards over the windows or the cracks in the walls or the spiderwebs that seem to grow overnight.

every corner is overflowing with stuff - things one or both of them couldn’t keep their hands off of (almost entirely emerson, but priss isn’t immune to her natural urge to collect little succulents in tea tins or the occasional crystal) - but priss has managed to keep the bathroom and the smaller bedroom mostly free of detritus thus far.

organizing emerson’s treasures comes naturally to her, and she can keep the horde mostly under control in ways that have the cottage in a state that’s at least livable. if all else fails, she can always escape to her growing garden or the copper tub (and then get rid of little things emerson won’t miss the next time the redhead leaves the house, despite waffle’s disapproving stares).

it isn’t exactly nice, but she thinks (a little bit regretfully) that she might like it here.
