Headless sentinels, not quite aware, not unwatching.
I remember a moment so close to this one. I could swear I know whats around the bend.
Are we looking through frosted glass into the mist? Or are we inside an artificially lit museum, empty of anything to look at? Where are we?
You see the pool, but no way to get there. You're sure you've been there, though.
This hallways is filled with crafts that will rarely be seen, and never ridden.
Pinned in an empty place
Tread Lightly
The stampede seems frozen in the mist, as if mid-escape.
The running horse statue in the town square.
You entered the place you parked your car. And as you wandered the garage, the poles thinned & bent, the concrete became warped and flakey, and the cars... the cars were parked midair, as if clipped into place. We're trying to remember, where did you park your car?
A herd of bronze deer stand transfixed to the ground by poles cascading from the ceiling. They may have been from a carousel, but now look tucked away into storage. The lights above still work.
Who stored them here?
A well lit rotunda stands empty. Poles meant to convey people through complex lines stand scattered aimlessly. You were here once, before it was renovated. There used to be wooden horses that danced. Now its just a façade.
Rusted metal cages stand in the foggy snow. Perhaps they once contained lively animals, but now it is a field of of decay.
Perhaps whatever was in them outgrew their containers.
Perhaps it is watching right now.
A gleaming oil bronzed statue of manes flowing upon a horseback stands as a glorious effigy in an empty, well-lit mall. Store fronts wind into the distance. This is the most human thing here.
Two toy horses are placed groundlessly in a cement walkway, fenced off from what seem to be darkened storefronts.
A carousel stands empty, poles anchored to dirt. Onlookers peer in mildly amused.
Horses in a mall-housed carousel. One on display, one on the turn table.
