Kavya’s life before this blog’s timeline, aka a short summary of their experience in Slavai Research Institute
Kavya came into the world in a very similar state as they are now. Their physical appearance tends to reflect their perception of themselves and self-awareness, and they were and are rather childlike as far as that goes. They were found snoozing naked in an alleyway by a town official, who brought them to Slavai Research Institute for lack of any better ideas, considering they were very clearly nonhuman.
Slavai Research Institute is an independent project dedicated the the analysis and documentation of new species and a center for the study of evolutionary processes for the betterment of humanity. Kavya, assumed to potentially be a new humanlike species, was a subject of interest for the Institute. Kavya was very demure so far as research subjects go, their demeanor that is both curious and generally complacent meant that they were quite friendly and cooperative to the scientists.
Difficulties arose in the scientists could not actually figure out what Kavya was, or even that they were comprised of. They were a carbon-based life form, yes, and they had something that was vaguely similar to DNA but which would invariably break any machine they attempted to run it through and which it was impossible to put through a PCR or similar. Their cell structure was unpredictable and contained multiple organelles that existed in no other known creature and served an indiscernible purpose. To put it succinctly, Kavya did not appear to be remotely similar to any other life form on Earth. It bewildered the scientists and they were curious, but their objective was to discover earthly properties of organisms. Because they studied evolution and properties of earth creatures, and even if something of Kavya proved to cure cancer, under which circumstances could they possibly reproduce it if the basis and functions of the organism were not equitable to any other organism?
So Kavya became a rather low priority, which was acceptable to the godling. They made friends with many of the scientists that kept track of them, and showed a preference for anyone who treated them with a parental demeanor.
Eventually, however, Kavya became bored with the monotony of the Institute, having stayed at Slavai for over six months by now. They were not really given any ability to wander outside of Slavai property, and disliked being cooped up.
Kavya politely asked their supervisors if they could leave, because they’ve had a good time so far but they really think it’s time to be going now.
Kavya’s request was politely refused.
Kavya asked again, this time not politely.
Once agin, they were refused.
Kavya became very grumpy at this to the point of belligerence, which was hitherto very uncommon for them. They had never shown any anger before that lasted over a day. This time, Kavya’s anger lasted a week before it exploded. They threatened the scientists-- they would be leaving now and they will not be refused.
The Institute refused, and Kavya was taking none of that.
Kavya wanted out, and being refused wishes was new for them and they did not like it. Kavya, when angry, is a force to be reckoned with. They forced their way out, claws for the first time becoming useful as an offensive weapon and the thick blackness on their arms creeping over their chest and up to their cheeks in a defensive attempt. It worked, somehow, and Slavai Institute realized it couldn’t do anything to stop the godling. Afater a couple scientists wounded (no one dead, but a few needing stitches), entirely ineffective tranquilizers, and attempts at locking Kavya in, Slavai cut its losses before Kavya’s rampage threatened any other research.
Kavya ran out of the Institute’s gates and into the nearby forest with no pursuit or atempt at tracking them down.
They felt incredible guilt at the literal blood on their hands, but rationalized it with the fact that at least no one was dead and now they were free.
