Celebrate Tiny Victories
Our last post, No more Zero days, was much loved and we got a lot of interesting feedback and comments. But some people brought to notice how they felt happy with a non zero day but immediately felt guilty that it was not enough.
Say, you do less than 10 pushups everyday for a week. Its a non-zero week but deep down, you know that 10 pushups is just not enough for your health goals. You feel disappointed. So, what do you do? You HAVE TO celebrate tiny victories. We normally only celebrate the big occasions, the big events. We fail to appreciate the smaller things in life as we are too focused on the big. Achieving the big takes time and a lot of motivation. If you celebrate tiny victories, you will stay motivated.
Had a non zero week? Appreciate it. Value the progress you have made. Celebrate with a dessert or a movie. We are partial towards a Tiramisu but any dessert will do really.
Everyday is full of tiny victories. People in your position were not able to achieve what you just achieved. How many people you know won't even do that one pushup you just did? Find tiny victories to find motivation and celebrate tiny victories to keep it.
