after working on this for, um, a while, i have finally finished subtitling the second DGS2 asinine attorney episode. here u go.

this DLC is so important to me, and even moreso after spending so much time with it. the recursive looping of herlock's stupidity revealed to be genius revealed to be stupidity revealed to be genius…the pointless torment of gregson…the pointed torment of barok. unique and adorable barok animations & gap moe. gregson's mortal fear of iris, the sweet interactions between iris and barok, and the familial relationships between herlock, iris, and ryuu during ryuu's suspension. this one's got it all. plus baroryuu crumbs for those with eyes to see…and/or vanlock and/or ryuulock. enjoy!

some additional notes and thoughts:
there are a couple sections in this video that actually had not been translated before, and i relied on a combination of machine translation and phone-a-japanese-speaking-friend for that.
if anyone is ever looking to time subtitles and doesn't know where to start, i highly recommend the aptly named Subtitle Edit. it's worth mentioning that every technical aspect of this, from timing subtitles to uploading on youtube, was new to me (or something i haven't tried in 15 years) so while i put a lot of effort into getting it right, i might have messed up somewhere. if you spot any problems please let me know…nicely!
i also made executive decisions on the names of two characters who are mentioned only in this episode: their names are literally written "Poran Musgrave" and "Charan Musgrave" but others had already gone with Devon for the first guy, which was fine by me, so i rolled with it. i didn't find a consensus on what to do with the second name, so in order to echo the spelling of Devon and by rule of cool, i decided to render his name Charon. this is a bit of a cheat since Charon is pronounced with a k-sound at the beginning, not a ch-sound, but the resemblance was RIGHT there and once i thought of it i just had to use it. if you would prefer a more britishy name, i also thought of Charlton. he can be Charlton Musgrave if you want. this also works because Devon and Charlton are both british place names, not british people names, lol. Musgrave is a name from Holmes canon so there was no question as to how to spell that.
pat and roly being extremely thankful for barok's kindness in the 1-4 trial ending up with them idolizing him as a god is so funny. this man is never going to be seen as a regular human being (and it's completely his fault) xD
