Anders: Yeah, seriously Lol
Anders: Nah, there's a lot of people in the building and most of them keep their heads down. We'll let the doorman and receptionist know that you'll be staying there and you should be good!
Lincoln: This is awesome! I'm gonna be done with my final papers this week too so I could def use a little R&R in a fancy ass place.
Lincoln: Anything special I should know about the animals?
Lincoln was distracted as she felt a pair of eyes on her. “What?” She said as she looked up to meet them. Nervously she looked around, maybe they weren’t even looking at her. “Is there a bug in my hair or something?” She asked nervously touching her pink locks.
“It’s good to be back in New York….” he said slowly, sighing and taking a sip of his drink. He glanced over at the person beside him. “How have you been?”
“Me? Been working a lot.” She said as she pushed the ice cubes in her diet coke around. “I am about to finish for the summer. I don’t know but...I think I might want to take a year off of college honestly.”

“The best part of this new job is I get all the left over pastries I want. They’re not even that stale! I may have gone overboard though so please take some before I turn into the Pillsbury Dough Boy. Also free coffee. If you couldn’t tell yet, I have been taking full advantage of that.” He was talking quickly and holding open a shopping bag full of pastries. “Fucking nitro cold brew is like liquid crack.”
“ooooh, that is fun. I know we get some of the stuff after we close the cafe. I also get a lot of free coffee too. It is super nice isn’t it?” Lincoln nodded as she folded her arms across her chest. “Cold brew is dangerous for me. I have got myself to stop caffeine by 3 o’clock because it was starting to become like a problem and I was nervous my heart would explode or something.”

Anders: Hey, I need a big favor.
Anders: I'm playing in the World Championships the 10th-26th and Mason decided she's gonna come last minute too.
Anders: Trouble is, it's in Slovakia.
Anders: And we have two dogs and a cat and a lot of plants that need to be watered.
Anders: Would you consider house sitting? It's a 4 million dollar apartment, 5 bedrooms, 6 baths with a view of the Hudson and a killer rooftop patio and pool.
Anders: Please? I'm desperate here.
Lincoln: Wait seriously?
Lincoln: Because OF COURSE I WOULD! No one is going to be wondering about a 22 year old barista lurking around your place are they?

“I’m definitely feeling lowkey,” he said with a nod. “And you’ve got records? You may be my new favorite person,” he said with a smirk.
“Oh good, cause me too!” Lincoln confirmed with a small smile. “Yeah I do! My dad was a radio DJ so he got me into them. I had to sell a bunch a couple months back, but I’ve still got a pretty cool collection. And really? I am? Well that was easy!” She said with a chipper smile.

“I can’t remember it much… It’s been years.” Her head shaking for added indication along with an expression showing it was probably rather lackluster. At least, it must’ve been the case for her to only remember those basic facts, right? “Oh! Yes, I think that was it. The sixty-six. Good thing about car trips is you can always just go where you please. Sometimes let the roads carry you.”
“Well who knows, maybe I’ll give it a watch in preparation.” She nodded as she looked at the other girl. “That is a good way of looking at it. Plus you could also even say that road trips are much easier with some good old fashion cell phone GPS.” She nodded as she tucked her hair behind her ear.

“Oh no.” Sutton had a look of feigned shock on her face as she looked down at her phone. “My extremely tasteful nudes leaked to the public, whatever will I do…” A tiny smirk grew on her lips. “It’s like people don’t know that I do this shit on purpose. Honestly, the shock is getting kind of annoying at this point.–This should have people talking about my special.”
Lincoln was eating rolled ice cream as she heard Sutton clearly pretending to be upset. A spoonful in her mouth as she slowly pulled it down her tongue. “What a tragedy, everyone is gonna see your tits,” she said in a monotone clearly if Sutton wasn’t upset neither was Lincoln. “Serious question though do you pay someone to take tasteful nudes cause I dunno those tricks.”

“So I have the day off on Friday,” Nick said, turning to the person beside him. “What do you say? Wanna do something? Anything? We could just hang, go out, have a little party. You name it.”
“Yeah sure, I can get someone to cover my shift at the cafe,” Lincoln nodded as she looked over at the stranger. “We could rent some movies, or I could bring over some records and we could just chill, are you alright with something lowkey?”

“I’ve seen the RV movie with Robin Williams, does that count? And movies with those big bus houses on wheels in them.” Driving them must be a nightmare. No thank you, even if the concept seemed rather cool. “Would you go on that, uh….” Her fingers were snapping to try and bring the proper name to the road that came to mind. “That road… The big one stretching across America? I hear that’s great for road trips.”
“Yeah? I’ve not seen that movie, is it any good?” She wondered aloud as she looked over at the other curiously. “Route 66?” Lincoln wondered if that was what she was thinking of. “I dunno I hadn’t got that far ahead. I mean maybe I should get old school and grab myself a map see where I wanna go exactly.”

“I don’t know what this camper is?” Her shoulders rose in her ignorance to the thing along with a smile of ‘oh well’. “But, roadtrips are always a good idea. Just promise to stop along everything you can. Even small places. They usually can be the most impactful.”
“You’ve never seen a camper before? Do you know what an RV is?” She offered maybe that would be a more familiar word. “Yeah I think so too. It seems like it could be a whole lot of fun y’know? And yes, small towns and big cities, I want to see as much as I can.”

“I mean, yeah, there’s only so many hotels and planes and stuff, plus things just get more and more expensive as they come closer, so it’s usually a good idea to start early.” She shrugged, “I say go for it, really, I mean, so long as you have your phone how bad can you actually get lost?”
“This is true, which I always thought was odd wouldn’t you want to mark things down to make sure they got sold. Then again it’s hospitality not retail.” She shrugged her shoulder looking at the other girl. “This is true, as long as I have a cell phone and listen to trashy pop music I’m safe. No one gets murdered listening to Taylor Swift right?” She jokes with a wiggle of her brows.

Initially, Al had been a little worried if the spontaneous trip was too big of a gesture. But he always worried that he was overstepping somehow with Lincoln. The thought of taking things too far and making her uncomfortable lingered in the back of his head and scared him. But the excited reaction that he was, of course, greeted with calmed him down and brought his energy back up to a hundred percent. “In the name of science though, Gibbs. Come on, you get it,” Al teased back, looking in her direction through his sunglasses and expectantly holding his hand out for a gummy worm. “Oh hell yeah, I’m holding you to that. Everyone has to come in formal wear and take those awkward prom pictures.” He let out a short laugh. “It’s not a big deal, though. I’m happy to get to spoil you a little. You just owe me for the rest of time, is all.” He shrugged, though the goofy smile on his face betrayed his would-be-serious tone of voice. “So, game plan: our check-in time at the B&B is four, so I thought we could go, drop our stuff off, then head out to the waterfall? Google says there’s a really nice diner right by the water, if we don’t make ourselves sick on gummy worms and Cheetos before then.”
Lincoln looked over at him and rolled her eyes. “No it’s not science, you can try and convince me but I know you just want a true crime episode on you. The man who threw his best friend over a waterfall. Tonight on 20/20.” She said in a low false news anchor voice. She giggled though looking over at him. She place a few gummy worms in his hand without a second thought. Lincoln didn’t have other friends like this. It was easy being around Al, even if he was much cooler than her she never felt like she had to try or pretend to be anything she wasn’t. “Yeah you like that idea?” She giggled with a broad grin. “Okay I’ll start planning everything.” The pink haired girl nodded her head as she leafed her fingers through her hair. She liked how he smiled, it was boyish and warm, he was always a warm person and it made her so happy to be around him. She quietly listened to his game plan and nodded her head. “Yes, this is a solid plan, I also might want to put on real people clothes when we get to the B&B.” She nodded as she wagged a finger looking down at her pajamas.

“Definitely not. I already have plans to go somewhere tropical with my girlfriend in June. It’s never too early to get away from the city,” Jimmy replied, nodding in agreement. “If you could swing it, I’d actually suggest heading up to Canada, doing the Trans-Canada Highway. It’s far prettier up there than most of the places you can drive through in this country. More lakes, more mountains, more trees, less Trump… really, it’s ideal.”
“oooh lala, doesn’t that sound romantic,” She smiled as she listened to him. “You know you aren’t the first person to suggest this to me. There is a woman who comes into the cafe all the time and she suggested Canada to visit. I think it’s a pretty stellar idea honestly.” She nodded as she tucked her pink hair behind her ear. Yeah I think I’ll probably end up checking it out. It sounds ridiculously pretty.”

“No I don’t think so. It’ll be summer before you know it, right? May as well plan it now when the prices are still cheap.” She nodded, “Maybe not in the city, but if you go to the burbs or like.. Brooklyn you may be able to find it.”
“Yeah, that is true, find a way and time to do it while everything is still reasonable.” She nodded as she pushed back her pink hair. “Ooooh yeah, I could probably fins some promising places online too. But not craigslist cause that is sketchy.”
