Mun is 30+, old and tired and ~around~. I'm not super active in the Tolkien fandom but can be tempted to peek in when the muse stirs.

Rog stood with all the tension of a bowstring, practically quivering as he offered the heart shaped cake towards Lin. Though clearly trying not to smile too widely, he was smiling too widely. 

"Surprise! I made you a totally normal cake. Bet you're dying to dig in," he said wiggling his shoulders.

Lin looked way up at Rog smiling too widely about his cake prank, and it had her smiling too widely about him smiling too widely. Her cheeks ached.

"Oh! What a totally normal surprise!" she agreed, accepting the treat and setting it down to give it a sniff-sniff curiously. The best part about Rog's cake pranks was they went two ways: either the cake was indeed totally normal and the prank was she was made to assume it wouldn't be, OR the cake was totally normal but a different (excellent) flavor than it looked like. Like a brown cake that was vanilla, or a white cake that was chocolatey.

Could go either way.

"I'm perishing with excitement," she agreed, grabbing the knife from her boot to cut into the cake.

Rog noticed Lin staring? Yeah, it didn't seem like one of those memory times where she'd zone out. Staring at...? Hmm. Head tilted, frowning, he used his arms to push his pecs together.

I've been noticing a blog posting Tolkien ai art and thought it'd be best to spread awareness. The blog is tuadcamlost and while they have confirmed their blog is ai generated images they don't upfront state it and don't always answer people asking about it.

I've seen a lot of people in the tags amazed by the details of the art style or how op does x and I think it's important to be transparent that it's ai generated images.

This isn't a call to boycott them in anyway. I think it's important to know what you're interacting with and not everyone is aware of what ai looks like.

Some stuff to back up what I'm saying. They've answered two people that it is ai generated. And their very first post was tagged as ai but the rest have not been.

Elurín:

One of the sons of Dior who was abandoned in the woods to die.

only ones of luthien's line that we don't know the fate of

Rog:

A lord of Gondolin in an early draft of the legendarium. He led the folk of the Hammer of Wrath, who all perished during the Fall of Gondolin.

The etymology of his name opens up a lot of HC/backstory possibilities + Tolkien's blacksmiths are always interesting characters + the miscellaneous Gondolin lords in general are pretty obscure I think + I just think he's dreamy <3

"I'm supposed to tell you," Beleg peaked at his hand, a big tentacle scribbly monster had been doodled there, "to not worry about barricading the water." He smiled, mission accomplished.

Lindethiel's expression froze in one of those unnatural smiles that don't reach the eyes, which are a little too wide for a smile. Her gaze shifted around restlessly.

"That's good," she eventually decided, expression relaxing, "because if I was supposed to have been worrying and barricading, we might have had a problem there."

Beleg checked his hand again as if that could possibly clarify the situation. He had been a little distracted thinking about dinner.

"That's good, I don't think you're supposed to worry about it. Oh, or," he paused, hand on chin, "orrrr... tell Lin not to worry about..." He waved his hand from his mouth towards her. "Oh! The fountain. Don't worry about that water either. Because it's fine."

"I have amazing news for you," Lindethiel replied, this time smiling much more naturally. She even closed her eyes to really soak in this moment. "I got a head start on that. I've been not worrying about the fountain. Fountains? Either way."

Struck with an idea, she held up a 'hold that thought' finger and went digging through her bag, then pulled out a convenient little pot of ink and grabbed a stick off the ground.

"Can I have your other hand? Or does that have another note on it already?"
