@socvrolet sent: “you’re bleedin’ like a stuck pig.”
Cuts and bruises weren’t anything unusual after a rumble. In fact, that was the whole point: to beat each other up until one team succumbed. Rules were always set in place beforehand, and usually those involved all agreed to them to make it a fair fight. They’d all agreed on no weapons being used, and yet some asshole that Dallas had gotten hold of had panicked and pulled a switchblade on him. It could’ve been worse----much worse. He only got a cut along the palm of his hand, but it was deep and blood was dripping from his fingertips. The soc knew he’d fucked up by pulling a stunt like that, as he’d sprinted away as fast as his legs could carry him. He’d gotten into his car and driven away before Dallas had the chance to catch up to him.
“It’s nothin’,” Dallas replied, waving Sherri’s concerns off. He’d been hurt worse before, and right now he only had one thing on his mind: beating the snot outta the soc who pulled a blade on him. It was dark and he didn’t get a real good look at him, but he was convinced he’d know him to see him. Brows were knit together in a deep frown, eyes narrowed. He was in a bad mood, and that always meant bad news was likely to follow. “If you know the kid who did this, you let him know that he’d better hope I don’t catch him alone. The little shit is gonna regret crossing me.” While Dallas was all for breaking the rules, he would stick to them during rumbles. It was the law that he hated and went out of his way to disobey. For the soc who wronged him, he would repay the damage tenfold.

Arms folded over her chest, head ducked low- she knew this was an awful time to be without her car. The cold night air seemed to sting more than usual, and it didn’t help she had to walk through the other side of town just to get home. As tough as she made herself to be, that didn’t make her any less unsafe out here.
Wind blowing her hair back, green eyes narrowed towards the street. The lights out there suddenly didn’t seem so bright. She could hear the distant hum of music, probably from a nearby party. A stupid fight with an ex wasn’t worth this, she knew better.
A pause, once she caught sight a shadow, maybe. A figure much taller than her, it looked like. this was unfortunately the only way home- so avoiding what seemed to be a stranger wasn’t an option. However, the closer she got, Sherri realized maybe she’d prefer someone she didn’t know. Then again, in this town? That wasn’t likely. She could tell now, it was Dallas. What was he doing out here? Sherri had absolutely no idea. But she kept her head down, silently wishing she’d been much smarter than this.
On this side of town, people were known to be especially rough. Crime rates were higher and walking alone could be pretty dangerous. It wasn’t anything compared to New York, though, where there were often kids who died from a fight that went too far. Sometimes it was in rumbles that allowed the usage of weapons, ranging from brass knuckles to chains or even knives. Tulsa was a little more calm that way, and Dallas sometimes found himself a little bored because not as much went on.
Walking alone wasn’t wise, especially alone at night, but Dallas had a blade on him and figured he could scare off any punks who wanted to pick a fight with him. He was heading over to Buck’s, which was where he usually stayed when he needed a place to sleep, when he spotted a familiar figure in the near distance. He’d know that long red hair anywhere. Sherri Valance, better known as Cherry. What was a girl like her doing wait out here by her lonesome?
Tossing his cigarette to the ground and stomping it out with the heel of his boot, Dallas then proceeded on over towards Sherri. Her head was down, but he knew damn well that she’d seen him. A grin, crooked and bordering on feral took shape on his lips as he approached. “Hey, Red,” he greeted her, his pace matching Sherri’s own while he walked beside her. “What’re you doin’ in this part of town all alone, huh? You got a death wish or somethin’?” Sherri stuck out like a sore thumb. It would be obvious to anyone that she came from money, and that meant trouble. Soc’s weren’t welcome around these parts, and it would be easy for someone to jump her and take whatever money she had for themselves. Hell, she was lucky that Dallas, known as the toughest and coldest of them all, hadn’t decided to.

Six Word Story (via absolvtions)

Going down to the basement in the killers shack was always a risky move, as getting caught there often didn’t end well. Dallas was in the middle of searching the chest for medical supplies when he heard footsteps coming down the stairs, prompting him to cease his search and turn his head to look over his shoulder. He was prepared to get up and run past them, but he soon discovered that it was another injured survivor down here with him.
“Looks like you’re outta luck, lady. There’s nothin’ here,” Dallas said as he got to his feet. There was a flashlight and a few other things, but nothing that he personally thought to be worth taking. Before he could say anything else, heavier footsteps could be heard above them. No doubt they belonged to the killer known as the Trapper, who was in the process of setting up his trap. With every footstep, bits of dust and debris fell down. A floorboard was coming lose right above where Leilani stood, and so Dallas reached out to grab her by the wrist and pull her out of the way. The wood narrowly missed her and clattered heavily against the hard floor of the basement, which was stained with blood from the numerous sacrifices made. Lest they wanted to add to it, they would have to remain very, very quiet.

Dallas didn’t know how he ended up in this place, but he wouldn’t be surprised if he’d died and gone to hell after all the shit he’d done in such a short amount of years. He’d never been a good person. He knew it and everyone else did too. However, he had his doubts about some of the other people stuck in the realm with him. People like Claudette and Kate and Steve seemed like genuinely good people who didn’t belong here.
“These killers have super-strength or somethin’?” It was his first time going up against a female member of the Legion, and he’d been a little shocked to see that someone so small could possess such strength. “Man, that little broad threw me over her shoulder like I weighed nothin’,” Dallas added while he finished bandaging a wound he’d received on his arm. He was keeping his voice low too, as to avoid drawing attention.

Dallas Winston and Annabelle Rose Shadows: Birthday starter for @notloaded
‘SOMETIMES HOME HAS A HEARTBEAT.’ TENDER is the gaze that remains focused on words she can’t help but read again. Such an EFFORT was placed into a gift she HOPED would be ADORED by the one person she considered her HOME. No part of her REGRETTING the countless hours of work. The lack of sleep that connected to ASSURING such a gift would be possible. IT WOULD BE WORTH IT IF IT MEANT SEEING HAPPINESS BEHIND HIS EYES. She knows him ENOUGH TO KNOW he won’t be PLEASED with her spending money like this on him. ONLY SHE DOESN’T CARE - HE DESERVES THIS AND SO MUCH MORE. Even if most BELIEVED he was UNDESERVING of such things. The opinions of others don’t matter to her. WHAT MATTERS IS WHAT THEY HAVE - WHAT THEY FEEL FOR ONE ANOTHER. What matters is that for the first time in her entire life she has a home. THAT HOME IS IN THE ARMS OF DALLAS WINSTON. The engraved dog tag is GENTLY placed back in the box, her eyes giving the oxidized silver a final glance before SECURING its safety.
WHAT TIMING HE HAS - ENTERING THE DINER AS SHE HIDES THE GIFT. The smile that appears on her lips is GENUINE. Standing from the booth to make herself visible to him. FOUR MONTHS SINCE THEIR FIRST ENCOUNTER. Four months since their hearts CONNECTED in a way she never believed possible. LONELINESS WASN’T A PART OF HER LIFE ANYMORE. She was now part of a FAMILY because of Dallas. Soon enough the booth would be filled with FAMILIAR faces. A SPECTACLE WASN’T GOING TO BE MADE OF HIS BIRTHDAY - SHE WAS JUST GOING TO GIVE IT THE IMPORTANCE IT DESERVED. As he comes closer, her hands find their way to his waist WITHOUT second thought. The smile doesn’t abandon her as their lips meet. HEARTFELT IS THE KISS AS HER BODY NOW RESTS AGAINST HIS OWN. “I have something for you… I hope you like it… Be honest if you don’t, okay?” One hand pulls out the box as she slowly holds it out between them both. APPREHENSIONS THREATENING TO TAKE OVER. “Happy birthday…” Eyes mett with his again, green eyes filled with CHILD-LIKE NERVES.
Dallas had never been one to celebrate birthday’s. At least, not his own. He saw no reason to, simply because he didn’t think aging was something to celebrate. He’d shared his thoughts on it with the gang before, and Annabelle too. It was just like any other day where he’d meet Belle at the diner where she worked--something that had become somewhat of a routine for him now (and the other boys, too). He like stopping by and visiting her, and occasionally threatening guys who were eyeing his girl. They always backed off real quick, but he had to be careful too unless he wanted to be kicked out. It wouldn’t be the first time. Strong arms found their way around Belle’s slender waist before he leaned down a little, lips meeting with hers. He could feel her smile, and even after four months he still found himself a little shocked to see someone so genuinely happy to see him. Johnny was the only other exception, but that kid usually followed him around like a lost little puppy anyway. At Belle’s words of I have something for you, Dallas’ expression hardened a little. Oh, he hoped she hadn’t spent money on him and had instead made something by herself. He knew she worked hard for the money she made, and he’d hate for her to needlessly be spending it on him. “What? I told you I didn’t need nothin’,” he reminded her, dark eyes dropping to look at the box held between them.
“I oughta kick your ass for spending money on me. Guess it’s too late now though, huh?” If he knew Belle like he thought he did, then she would’ve put a lot of thought into the gift and it would surely hurt her if he were to deny it. And so he took the box from her and proceeded to open it up, revealing the dog tag that was promptly picked up. Sometimes home has a heartbeat, it read. How quickly the two had come to find solace in one another; to be able to feel at home just by being with each other. It was a new feeling, as he’d never truly known what it meant to be home. After looking at it a moment longer, he then placed it around his neck and returned his attention to Belle, who was visibly nervous. Truthfully, he wasn’t even sure how to respond. He’d never been given a gift like this before; never had a girl who cared about him as deeply as Belle did. Gripping the tag in the palm of his hand from where it hung around his neck, he then placed a kiss against Belle’s forehead. “I won’t go using this one as a lighter.” Nah. It was too nice for that. Too special, too. It was nice to have the feeling of a chain around his neck again though, as the one he used to wear had been given to Belle. “Thank you.”
We are not people who touch each other carelessly. Every point of contact between us feels importan. A rush of energy and relief.
Dallas Winston
