hey so how do you stay in touch with your tc? i'm a rising junior and my tc was my sophomore english teacher, he isnt the leader of any clubs or anything so i'm not sure how else i could stay in touch, although he did tell me about a concert he was going to so hopefully i see him there, but any ideas you have on staying in touch with him would be great
my tried and true methods for staying in touch with a tc
if you're no longer on campus or won't be anywhere near their room, email is your best friend!!
stop by their room in between classes if you happen to pass it
if your schedules line up, you can talk to them before class starts in the morning, during lunch/study hall/office hours, after school, or do what i did and literally skip class to go talk to them if they have a free period (just make sure to ask for a hall pass so you don't get in trouble, and don't interrupt them if they're teaching)
depending on how close you are, i'd start out by keeping things subject-related. ask for help in a class of the same subject, send them news articles in their field (maybe not applicable to math/english), get recommendations for resources (books, online classes, etc.). asking for academic favors is the easiest route to go.
on a similar note: upperclassmen, college apps will come sooner than you realize!! you can ask for letters of recommendation and guidance on the college application process if you plan on continuing your education.
if your tc is pretty open, try keeping up on things in their personal life! whether it's a concert, a family event, or even school break, if you know something happened, ask how it went
similarly, if you have any shared interests, that's another massive talking point!!
if you're in a club that hosts events (concerts, assemblies, volunteer opportunities) or a sports team, you can invite them to those events/games
