ok iko making her way in the world as an indivdual is sooo interesting to me and theres so many options for her. i feel like hair salon/braiding salon is high up there in the Most Iko Job cause you get to yap and share gossip for hours. and i'm fond of fashion designer iko , obvi, cause she could make up some awesome shit. and then there's like makeup artist iko that works on theatre productions or film sets! or she could try modelling! the skies the limit for her ughhhhhhhhh i love her so bad

you’re right, the world is truly her oyster. i think that she would want to stay close to cinder in the early years, especially because cinder is all alone in luna. then, when cinder starts making friends like tressa and kinney, she slowly moves away. i think cinder is the one that gives her the push to go explore her life. like, “hey, ik you’re here to support me as my best friend, but i’m okay and i want you to live your life in the fullest.” though iko wants to, i think it takes time for her to process leaving cinder, especially since she’s an android and that’s what she was programmed to do (be a friend to peony and cinder).

to briefly acknowledge wires and nerve, she does the wolf mission and returns to cinder, then when cinder abdicates her crown and gets engaged, iko starts her career. yay! i really like fashion designer iko. her creating outfits for all her friends and favorite celebrities. dream!! makeup and hair too. like, it’s perfect. iko has an official title and job at the palace, but she’s free to do as she pleases. she slowly builds her reputation (having famous friends definitely helps) and simultaneously raises awareness for androids like her. of course, she’s always up to date with the latest drama!! her list starts to be comprised of a-list people and she knows everything (i mean, she knows the secrets of the most private yes famous couple in the world— her tidbits help her negotiate new information).

iko is just amazing. and cinder is so happy at how much she grew and all the friends she made all alone. the small white android that followed cinder’s heels everyday became everybody’s favorite. my heart. so full.

one of my favorite parts of the lunar chronicles has always been how batshit insane it is. just the the genuine unhingery. the main character kidnaps her love interest from his wedding. said love interest stabs his arranged bride (a murderous dictator) with scissors at the altar. cress and thorne stay at an inn in the middle of the desert, and while he’s fucking around gambling she gets kidnapped into an underground medical experimentation human trafficking ring and bought by her long lost father. there’s evil moon people. scarlet and wolf get it on in a boxcar after like two days of knowing each other. 4/9 of the main cast aren’t human. cinder crashes kai’s wedding (again), murders twenty people, and jumps off a ten story balcony into a lake. kai keeps cinder’s metal foot so he can stare at it and long after her while she’s a wanted fugitive. cress fangirls over and stalks her outlaw crush on the internet for years and then bags him when they meet. not one of them is over twenty or mentally sound btw. no other YA series is doing it like that. applause
