List of characters

Linkle: The main girl, lesbian coded, and a sincere gal who wants to help people above all. A cucco farmer who likes to go exploring.

Rogard: Linkle's favorite cucco and best friend. Described as "Ornery". Might be all powerful or just weird.

Elmyra: Linkle's formerly dead granny. The poros at @snugglyporos "found" her. We don't question it. Has been basically everywhere in Hyrule. Very well travelled. Intimidating to most.

Purah: An over century old eccentric Sheikah inventor, she regained her youth using a Sheikah rune. She will make sure you all suffer her ideas.

Mina: Rogard's grandmother who didn't exist til the poros "found" her. Don't ask questions. Is very forgetful, but a sweet granny personality. For a cucco.

Dark Linkle: A demon creation originally made to torment and kill Linkle. Gave the middle finger to her purpose, killed her creator, and breeds chaos wherever she goes for fun.

Terrence: A tonberry that really likes Linkle. He behaves for her. For now.

Archeops: Linkle's first pokemon and a partner in her adventures. Not great at flying, but has shown great problem solving skills and bravery.

Mudsdale: Linkle's second pokemon, a perfect strong horse. Wants to make Linkle proud and likes showing off to others. Can shatter boulders to small pieces.

Onix: A gentle giant who found Linkle in caves and adopted her. Is very nice and protects others. He does his best.

Combee: @snugglyporos made me do it. A pokemon who speaks in bee puns. Damn it Jerry. He sees Linkle as a weird Vespiqueen.

Deino: A dragon type who wandered into our hearts... then sank her teeth in so she could not leave. She likes playing as rough as a dog!

Male Linkle: The true evil version of Linkle made on April Fools' day. Do you think God stays in heaven because he too fears his creations?

Koume and Kotake(Wild Era incarnations of Twinrova sisters): Lovely if teasing witches who focus on their research into magic!

The Great Fairy of Free Spirit: A Great Fairy who has returned from hiding, she has taken residence near Akkala Citadel.

Melanie raises one finger. "Expendable tools are meant to be used only once. For example, arrows or bombs. They are not considered to have souls."

She raises a second finger. "Dependable tools are meant to be used for generations to come. They are considered to have souls. As such, these are repaired when damaged and made whole when broken. When the repair of our tools or weapons is no longer possible, we treat them with the reverence of a human being that has perished. The purposeful breaking of a weapon or tool is only acceptable in wartime, and only to the enemy's weapons and tools of war. Captured weapons and tools are hostages almost as valuable as the people who use them."

"In short, tools and weapons are considered as being on the same level as working animals or family pets."

She chuckled. "We have something similar, though she is far more unique. There is a sword, the Blade of Evil's Bane. The Master Sword. It has existed... well longer than Hyrule itself. I have used it myself. There is a spirit of the sword named Fi."

She shook her head. "In any case, I am of the belief that damage incurs growth. Even with people. I'd never be as strong as I am without being smacked around so much. The trick is to avoid unnecessary damage. I think that is the compromise. And to always spend time and care fixing it."

Elphae sighs as she cuddles up to Asulli.

"So erm... What does yer da think? Y'know... About us? Me mum got real worried about me datin' 'til I said it was you."

She gently grooms Asulli's feathers as she speaks, clearly nervous.

"Oh the only worry he has is that work keeps him from meeting you! I've told him all about you and he is so eager to meet ya! He already has an expert in cooking fish in his family, but a master cook dating his daughter is big!"

She gave a big smile to Elphae. "You have nothing to worry about hun."

"I suppose I should tell you why I abhor cannons, Linkle. It shall give you insight on my people."

She pauses for a moment.

"You see, this is based on an ancient saying. 'Do not break your hand to break the enemy.' We have lived by that for longer than the written word. People have expanded its meaning, of course. And people see explosions within your weapon as damaging it frivolously. Overtaxing or hurting oneself should only be in survival situations where there are no other options."

"Hmm... For the body, that is true. Unless you have no choice, damaging something you can't just toss or do without is a terrible idea. However, all tools receive damage from use. Some faster than others. Explosions definitely are destructive. That is why one should control such things as best they can."

She looked up at the citadel, more at the cannons. "We learn not from success, but from losing. Damage. We do better next time. Allow the small breaks and fix them. Improve. That way the large breaks you couldn't handle before become small breaks due to your improvements."

She clapped her hands together. "You got the right attitude. I actually came from a small village where we had to count on each other. The village raised me when wolves took my parents. They are the best. Now, through amazing circumstance, I'm in charge of the lands they live on and more."

She looked thoughtfully at Diana. "I am very well travelled you know. If you want knowledge on what to try, I can suggest a few places. I should probably warn you of regional dangers. Not just monsters, but specific climates..."

She claps excitedly. " Oh I would love that! In all the time I've visited I never had a guide before. I just assumed if I took it a place or town at a time i'd eventually familiarize myself with everything but I know there are some places more hot or cold then others is Gerudo town one of them? "

A nod came from Linkle. "Oh absolutely. They live in a desert. Hot days and chilling nights! The highlands are snow covered. I'd suggest taking the path for safety though. There is an oasis on the way and you don't accidentally wander into Molduga territory."

She looked thoughtful before speaking again. "Maybe I should ask if anyone is willing to have Sand Seals for rent at the desert start or at least the oasis? Gliding across the sand with one of those pulling you on a shield is way safer and easier to get past surprise monsters."

" That explains a lot! I've seen some of the clothing options from the shops and have been curious ever since. " Lucky for her she's pretty used to gripping weather but is that gonna stop her from wanting to go sand seal glididng? Absolute not!

She gasps and grips the elfs shoulders. " Are you saying that I could go sand seal gliding!? Oh that sounds so fun! And " she takes it off her back proudly. " I already have a shield and rope. Is it expensive to do this? "

She laughed at that. "It's just as fun as you are imagining. You gotta lasso them properly under the flippers and jump on the shield right quick if you get a wild one. They take direction well. Trained rentable ones follow safe paths we'd never notice and always know the way."

She pulled out her Purah Pad. "I could teleport us there... Oh! If you ever bring friends, know men are not allowed. It's been their way for as long as history can remeber. They let Gorons in, but... they don't really have genders. Never thought of that. Strange."

Linkle blushed lightly at the praise. "I haven't been Countess for a year. And... well if you can help people, why not? No matter how big or small, people should help people. I didn't know stories were spread out about me. News, but more local I thought."

She clapped her hands together. "Oh! I heard you come from a race of strong women, no men. Is this true? You sound like the Gerudo people back home."

" I might've come here undercover to taste some delicious food and wine and hear a few tales about the spunky elf everyone was talking about. I will not lie. " She snickers. " I do it a lot. "

" Ah, yes! That's it! I've heard of the Gerudo people; it's a place I haven't visited just yet, but I hear they have the most wonderful shops. Where I come from we live in isolation and depend on each other. I chose a ... different path. I'm like you; I can't stand by when all I've known is challenged, and if I have the strength to do it, why not fight for peace? "

Elphae has decided to join in on making ice cream. Indeed, she made a lot of ice cream for the people in the Citadel. She had even made an ice cream-adjacent sweet for her mum that tasted and felt like the real thing but was warm.

Elphae also made ice cream cones with flour made from Cornn Berries.

Parrie seems to be very satisfied with the Figy Berry ice cream.

The Gardevoir realizes something...

"Oh... I think I might've err... Overshadowed you, mom... I'm sorry about that... Got excited an' all..."

The Hylian let out a giggle, ruffling the Gardevior's hair. "Kids are supposed to overshadow adults. They overtake and improve on them. They do more because they should be raised better. So you did exactly what you should."

She gestured to all the people happily enjoying the sweet treat Elphae prepared for them. "You are making people happy with your food. As a mother, I am thrilled you are doing such things. You found a passion and use it to enrich the lives of people around you. You could not have become a better person. So don't you dare be anything less, alright?"

"I guess, but... It's different." A hand comes to lightly play with one of her braids. "I didn't grow with parents. And training to be a hero... no person really treated me gently. I am expected to be the strongest one in a room."
