#The Outlast Trials #Outlast Trials #Outlast Trials Fanart #Mother Gooseberry #Phyllis Futterman #Drawing #Art #Doodle #LinksysDoodlesWoohoo #Comments:#Based on some discussions from the Gooseberry server I'm in #Mother Gooseberry getting the mannequin children in the orphanage ready for bed and being a bit paranoid over their safety #Among other things #But yea .. sigh .. oh Mother Gooseberry ....#I also just imagine she might deal with intrusive thoughts as a result of the things she endured as a child #So at the end she's trying to convince herself that she's being good and denying any thoughts that might imply otherwise #A brief moment of slight lucidity where she acknowledges that Dr. Futterman isn't good #(Among the many other ones where she acts as though his presence /isn't/ a danger to children and they're both trying to save them)#Ykwim #I just find her character and her seemingly conflicting thoughts/actions/etc. rlly interesting #Anyway on another note: I initially didn't draw Dr. Futterman in the first doodle on accident #But then I decided I'd have her without him on her forearm for this little “comic”#In part b/c I didn't want to draw him #and in part b/c--while I believe she usually finds comfort in having his puppet on her forearm--I imagine that during a moment like this #where she's dealing w/ the children directly and also happens to be in a state of mind where she's kind of uncomfortably acknowledging #his abusive and predatory actions #she might feel uncomfortable having him Physically present (via puppet)#Even though it doesn't change the fact that he's constantly with her as part of their system #I think it might ease any even More disconcerting thoughts about him + his actions + her actions + any potential similarities btwn them #Though that only helps to a certain degree (hence her insistence on not being like him while clutching where his puppet usually is)
