an explanation long overdue
hi, I haven’t been on tumblr for a while and I don’t really see myself being an active participant in the future but i did want to clear some stuff up (although nowadays it may be deemed irrelevant)
in 2020 I was a part of a friend group that the collective liked to call the “clown gang”. I wouldn’t say everyone was my friend (because I just didn’t know some of the players very well) but I was friendly with everyone, did become close to two or three of the individuals in this friend group over time. there was no infighting whatsoever. I was also an active participant on lionews and had just started my own “raffle lioness” journey, beginning with my first raffle lioness Absinthe.
what happened with absinthe? did you really scam someone for her?
No, I didn’t scam anyone out of having Abby.
Initially, I had two partners that I was going to “go after” Absinthe with. shortly before Absinthe was due to be rolled, two individuals came to me proposing a plan: They were to purchase the RL and breed until they received a clone, and then I was to receive Absinthe, with two conditions: if I were to quit, they would receive Absinthe, and they would also receive half the profits of any cubs sold. With intentions to keep the line private, we weren’t planning on selling any cubs so I really didn’t think too much about it. And I definitely wasn’t planning on quitting anytime soon. Afterwards, my two breeding partners and I would share her heats so they could receive their own clones. I only wanted the RL.
I agreed because I knew that there was a good chance that they had more funds than all three us, the first party breeding partners combined, so in worst case scenario, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity of owning and breeding the Raffle Lioness at all.
They received the RL, cloned the second time, and kinged the clone. Then, they sent the RL to me. During our attempts to clone, Absinthe had a “first generation” dwarf cub born. We were already 1.4k GB in the hole at that point with no clone so selling this G2 dwarf cub was really the only option. This caused some tension between the second party breeding partners and us, the first party. We wanted full funds to support our efforts (we had not produced a clone yet) but obviously the agreement should be honored if the dwarf cub was sold.
but, a few days afterwards, one of my first party breeding partners came to me with some pretty bad screenshots of interactions between them and one second party partner, detailing interactions that I can only describe as ugly and manipulative. at first, I was surprised that this first party breeding partner had not come to me before I made this agreement, but I was also surprised that the second party breeding partner acted in such a way at all, because this wasn’t my experience with them (but I hadn’t really interacted with them enough to know, while the first party breeding partner had known this player very “intimately” in comparison)
Initially I put that dwarf cub up for auction — where the second party BP, iirc, would bid anonymously. but shortly afterwards I took down the auction and decided to keep the dwarf and sell her heats.
(at first I couldn’t remember whether I had sold the dwarf to the second party or kept them to sell their heats, but I found a tumblr message I had sent stating that I did end up keeping the dwarf)
after I learned of what happened between my first party BP and second party BP, I decided to cut ties from the second party BP. I didn’t make any profits from future cubs after cutting ties from the second party. I didn’t quit the game.
This is the message that I provided for Modbox while inquiring on if my assets (Abby) would be affected if I did cut ties from the second party.
I have chosen for the second party BP to remain anonymous in this post because I don’t think anything good would come from exposing them. the point of this post is not to create more drama, simply to explain my side because I never did publicly.
I will not be providing the screenshots that I saw for two reasons:
My first party BP, who showed me the screenshots, asked me not to.
Even if I wanted to, I can’t even find the screenshots/DMs/first party BP’s discord account anymore.
In hindsight, I would have made a lot of different decisions. I would have only partnered with people I knew well. I would have responded differently upon discovering the BP’s true behavior. I would have explained my side sooner, instead of four years later.
were you banned or suspended from Lioden?
no, I was never banned or suspended from Lioden. at the end of 2020 / beginning of 2021, I went through significant life changes that put lioden on the backburner and I went into hiatus shortly after. I picked lioden back up to sell my adoptables in late January of this year, but stayed for the events (I had never participated in the February event before this year) and eventually I began to find enjoyment in this silly little lion game again. I will never quit Lioden, only occasionally go on hiatus as my adhd hyperfixations ebb and flow.
so.. the clown gang?
before we were called the clown gang, we were just a friend group. we shared common interests and bonded over internet lions. when one person became active on tumblr, it was like a “why not?” decision for the rest of the friend group to share their own lion stories and such.
eventually, the clown gang kind of dissipated. there was no fighting or bad blood, but I think things were going on behind some of the players scenes that I wasn’t aware, or a part of. eventually, the private server we made just for the friend group became quiet, and everyone sort of went their own ways.
I am going to be honest - I don’t know half of the controversies that people in “the clown gang” were or are a part of. I don’t have any opinions because it’s been four years since I last spoke to any of these people, or read any ‘controversies’ they had.
also, agryo and honey were never a part of the clown gang. I used to see that misconception often so I hope that clears it up.
if there are any other concerns or allegations that y’all would like addressed, please feel free to bring it to my attention. I am tired of my silence and I aim to be as transparent and honest as I should’ve been 4 years ago.
