Karen Gillan
“We saw some amazing actresses for this part. But when Karen came through the door, the game was up — she was funny, clever, gorgeous and sexy. Or Scottish, which is the quick way of saying it. A generation of little girls will want to be her. And a generation of little boys will want them to be her too. ” - Steven Moffat on Karen Gillan
What a fascinating Ancient Runes class.
I love Ancient Runes.Â
It's wonderful isn't it?

Doodles in the margins of Lily's Charms notes.
What a fascinating Ancient Runes class.
Arithmancy, Muggle Studies and Divination. What were your others?
Arithmancy and Care of Magical Creatures.
What a fascinating Ancient Runes class.
I’m taking Study of Ancient Ruins,Care of magical creatures, and Divination
Oh, how is Divination? I'd thought about taking it, but I was more interested in the others.
What a fascinating Ancient Runes class.
I’m glad somebody’s enjoying it.
I am! It's really very interesting. What're you taking, Mar?
What a fascinating Ancient Runes class.
What other classes did you choose besides that?
I'm also taking Arithmancy and Care of Magical Creatures.
Er, what are you taking?
What a fascinating Ancient Runes class.
I definitely made the right choice in studying it.
Sirius was in no mood to refute, that no, really, James was in love with Lily Evans because even though, occasionally, Prongs wondered if she was worth it, he always came back it her. Even when she brushed him off and called him names.Â
Prongs was loyal to a fault, and Lily was stuck with his loyalty.Â
Sirius shrugged, “Alright, whatever, you don’t need to tell me what happened. But I’ll just tell James that something happened to you this summer. Prongs has been going crazy and he needs something to occupy his mind since—” Sirius choked on the words once he realized what he was about to say, “—the giant squid turned him down for a date.” He finished quickly, “Apparently you’re not the only one saying no to James Potter.”Â
Sirius knew something was wrong with Lily. It didn’t just take boredom during the summer to start smoking. Well, not if you’re Lily Evans. Something had to have been going on, and he couldn’t ask Marlene to make sure Evans was okay. Girls were always so much more secretive than blokes.Â
"Lily, you’re going to go mad if you don’t talk to someone. Please tell me you’ve at least talked to Marlene and Mary."Â
Lily jabbed Sirius in the chest with one finger, glaring at him dangerously. " Don't you dare tell Potter anything, Sirius. Like I need James Potter of all people asking me what's wrong." She didn't think she could stand it if he did; she knew she blamed him for him rather unfairly, but she blamed him all the same.
She didn't buy Sirius' hasty cover up, nor his story about the giant squid. Potter did a lot of odd things, but she didn't think he would actually ask out the giant squid. Raising one eyebrow, she fixed Sirius with a doubtful look. "What really happened to Potter that has made him more crazy than he already was?" Lily couldn't be sure precisely why she was asking, but she was curious.Â
A long sigh escaped her and she leaned against the wall, letting her head fall back. "No, I haven't talked to either of them."
She wondered how bad it would be, really, to confide in Sirius. He hated Severus, sure. But didn't he know, better than anyone, what it felt to be rejected by someone who was supposed to be there for you? Would he really judge her that harshly for the things she had done that summer in an attempt to cope and stave off the loneliness?Â
"Well, maybe, I...." Lily said, tentative and unsure. Her throat closed up, and she shook her head. "Never mind." She couldn't. She'd never been good at talking about her own feelings, though she so often listened to others.Â
