ooc: that moment when you feel so proud of yourself for using the weather channel app to look up the accurate weather for belhaven. LMAO.

Of course, that voice was none other than Chris Irvine, another new resident here in Belhaven to say the least. This was a new start, a new world for him to find his place within once he finally gained his barrings, but until then, he remained a stranger to everyone around him, a relatively harmless looking stranger (minus a few tattoos inked into the skin of his left arm) who simply needed to find the lay of the land before he did much else.
"Something bothering you?" he asked the blonde bombshell who was clearly out of sorts, his eyebrows raising some. "I don’t mean to pry or anything, but something tells me that necklace isn’t just a necklace, is it?” Chris had a wife of his own once, so naturally he tried to calm down the woman the best he could, giving her a soft smile her way.
She quickly wiped her tears away with her wrists, slightly smudging her make-up. Unsure of who the man whom was speaking to her was, she tensed up, not wanting to speak to him initially. His soothing voice however, made it easier to open up. She gulped, clearing her throat. "I uh... It's nothing. I'm fine, thanks," she spoke softly with her thick accent showing. Her eyes moved down to her feet on the pavement of the small parking lot. Her sweater wasn't exactly keeping her warm in the almost freezing weather. A few droplets of rain hit her skin.
"Maryse..." Her hand reached out, extended for him to shake. The least she could do was be polite and show appreciation for his concern. "And you are?" She looked up at the sky, almost five thirty in the evening with the sun beginning to set and the rain starting the come down extremely light. "Do you live here too? Maybe we should head in. I'd hate to get my hair wet," she chuckled, heading toward the back entrance.

She had hoped that Belhaven would be her escape. Perhaps her life would take a turn for the better here. Moving from Montreal to Tampa when she was younger was certainly something new and exciting. Now she was moving from Tampa to North Carolina. She made a decision to make the move a road trip, traveling with her vehicle and a moving truck along with her. It had taken a few days to get there with two motels involved as well, but she was finally able to move from the God forsaken place she had once called a home.
Now, it was February 1st and the blonde woman found herself in her apartment already halfway unpacked, maybe even three fourths of the way there. She sat on her sofa with her min-pin, Pumpkin, at her side, looking through a box of belongings. Something wasn't right. It was her jewelry and she realized right then and there that the fleur de lis necklace her father had given her right before he passed was gone. Her heart raced, her temperature rising. She hurriedly walked to the door of her apartment, exiting with a brisk walk down the stairs to the parking lot out back.
Maryse made her way to her car, looking around in the backseat frantically. There it was on the floorboard. She sighed in relief, unclasping it to hook it around her neck. She shut the car door, locking it again before pulling at her long sleeves on her sweater that concealed many tiny almost unnoticeable scars. She closed her eyes, leaning against the car with tears rolling down her cheeks. Almost losing that necklace hurt more than anything. She stayed there in the crisp wind that whipped against her skin until a voice startled her.
-_- that’s bullshit, should have been the Hawks.
Damn it Hawks you had one job.
I didn't watch, but this news is severely upsetting.
Aww, that’s cute, what’re their names?
My minpin is Pumpkin, and then I have Spice and Latte, my kitties.
I am Catwoman. Hear me roar.
Aww, yeah. That’s one of the only drawbacks of watching the cute stuff
Unfortunately. I've already got a min pin and two cats. I don't need anymore. :(
my babies! found these while i was unpacking. #redsoles
I did, they was totally cute too!
I caught the middle of it. I'm a sucker for the feline species, so of course I wanted to go out and adopt a kitten afterward.
Puppy Bowl is always good. It’s ultra adorable
Too true. I'll probably watch it later. Did you see Kitten Bowl too?
Puppy Bowl <3
I have it in my DVR. Is it pretty good this year?
My brother got me into it, it took me a while to warm up to it. Netflix is the solution for everything.
I might have to look it up on Netflix and try again. Just give it a bit more time before I throw in the towel.
Serving unpacking realness.
Walking Dead marathon and snuggles with the little one.
How’s everyone else’s Sunday going?
I've tried getting into TWD, but no such luck. I'm thinking a Netflix marathon for myself.
That’s how shit works.
Again, unfortunately. Luckily I had more motivation to get stuff done today. I'm about halfway done. Thank God.
