Changing Hairlooks Is Safe and Easy As 123 With DIVATRESS
*sponsored post but all opinions are mine*
For TVC talents and Print models like me, changing looks from time to time is imperative to make you more marketable. Although there’s makeup that can help, a “no-makeup” look for VTRs and go-sees is much preferred thus it can only be used to enhance your features. You may opt for surgical enhancements but I think that’s too drastic and expensive, thus, your best option is to go for hair makeovers.
Changing hairstyles and color can instantly give you a new look. Depending on the cut, length, and color, you can easily look younger or mature, sweet or fierce, conservative or aggressive - perfect for us talents and models.
However, salon hair makeovers can be very expensive and sometimes the procedures can be damaging. Of course if you have the budget by all means go for it. Be wary thought that constant coloring, permanent perming/straightening, blowdrying, iron straightening or curling, and the likes can all damage our crowning glory. So given all these, I feel that the best option is to use wigs.
I’m pretty sure you're all aware that wigs now aren't just for bald people or for theatre actors anymore but is now being used as a fashion statement, right? Kylie Jenner fans raise your hands!
So loving this Shake N’ Go Naked Brazilian Remy wig. FYI, this hair style is one of the trends in Korea!
In using wigs not only you can rock different hairstyles each day, which is both cool and fun, but more importantly it can save our hair from damages and haircuts that have gone wrong (which by the way happened to me too many times).
For quality wigs, do check out Divatress.
Divatress is a company that carries beautiful, quality wig online including hair weaves, and extensions.
Adulting #1948573759583: On Buying a Vehicle
*sponsored post*
A vehicle is the second most expensive thing one will ever buy in his/her life aside from a house, thus, purchasing one is considered as one of the milestones in a person’s life. However, thrilling and exciting as it may be, it is not an easy task. It takes a thorough planning and serious decision making.
If you’re currently considering purchasing a vehicle, here are some tips that could help you.
1. Establish a budget and set a workable payment scheme.
Before car shopping, know and decide first on how much you can spend.
Personally, I think it’s wise to save up money prior purchasing a car, unless, money is not an issue.
Decide whether you will pay in cash or you will finance.
If you decide to pay in installment, determine what you can afford to pay each month. Include here the insurance premiums, annual registration fees, as well as your monthly gas and parking expenses. This is critically important if you want to be able to finish your payment and completely own the vehicle. My advise is to save enough money to cover at least half of the cost as a buffer. Having a buffer will save you the worries and headache should there be a sudden trouble in your finances.
2. Determine what you need
- Do you have kids and need something big and roomy?
- Are you single and you’re just gonna use it mostly for work?
- Are you suffering from any pains/aches and/or injuries and need something compact or easy to get into and out of?
These are just some things that need to be considered. Make a list and determine your needs as well as your wants so you can properly weigh your options.
3. Research
When you have determined already what exactly your needs and wants are, do a research on what vehicle would perfectly meet them as well your budget. Thankfully, you can easily do that online. cars.com is a great site to check out when it comes to researching and finding the car that’s right for you.
My dream car : BMW X5
4. Decide on whether to get a brand new or pre-owned.
I know it’s ideal to get a brand new vehicle but consider the good deals that you can get on pre-owned cars. If you do a thorough and careful research, you can be sure to find used vehicles that are in very good condition with good prices to boot from a reputable dealer/seller. Again, www.cars.com can help you with that.
5. Test drive. Always.
Unlike buying clothes, you cannot just buy a car without trying it out first because it is troublesome and costly to return or exchange. And if it is pre-owned, you can’t do either if you did not purchase it from a dealer.
Test drive to see if you’d be comfortable in it and if it’s easy to operate. Also, to find out if there are kinks.
So there. Hope you find my tips helpful and consider them before making any purchase to prevent any regrets later on. Remember, having a car requires responsibility and can be quite costly so make sure to plan first really well.

Hassle-free Christmas Shopping With Groupon
(This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine.)
Now that we are celebrating the Christmas season aka "The most wonderful time of the year and the busiest of them all," I can't gush enough at how convenient Christmas shopping is now that there is Groupon.
Imagine how busy all the streets are, how heavy the traffic is everywhere, and how crowded all the malls are. Stressful, right? How about the loooong lines at the stores, the gifts that you'll all need to wrap, and all the Christmas gastos? Toxic!! With a capital T!!!
Well then good thing there's Groupon. Lucky us!
With Groupon, you will be spared of all the hassle of the holiday rush. There would be no need for unnecessary malls trips to shop like a headless chicken and spend off all your Christmas bonus on overly priced things (because we all know merchants take advantage during this season). All you just have to do is to make yourself a nice cup of hot cocoa or coffee, sit comfortably and browse through the Groupon's site.
With just a swipe and a tap on your tablet or phone screen, you can leisurely choose and avail all sorts of great deals and discounts from different kinds of establishments and brands such as my favorites, BANANA REPUBLIC and NORDSTROM, for yourself or as gifts to the special people in your life.
Shopping your gifts on Groupon does not only save you money but also a lot of time and energy that you can just spend on your family and friends. How great is that?
You’re welcome.
Enjoy Grouponing and Merry Christmas everyone!
Look like a Million Bucks Without Breaking the Bank With Groupon
*This post is sponsored by Groupon. All opinions and text are mine.
On a scale of 1 to Kim Kardashian, how high-maintenance are you? Unless you were born with awesome genes like Camilla Belle or Miranda Kerr who doesn’t need to do anything to look gorg and flawless, we mere mortals sadly need our regular beauty works - facials, waxing, mani/pedi, salon treatments, etc.
Indeed, being a woman is costly. But thankfully, there’s Groupon.
With Groupon, beauty maintenance isn’t as expensive because you can get huge savings on services and products. In fact, Groupon has actually saved me a lot of money. I’ve had hair rebonds which only costed me half the regular rate, several massages and facials that I was able to avail at 60% off, and so much more! Pretty awesome, huh?
Photo credits to Relais & Châteaux
But guess what? Groupon’s money-saving deals is not limited to Health, Beauty and Wellness Groupons only. From dining to travels, rest assured that your budget can rely on Groupon for the best discounts all over the metro. And the sweet part, you can avail all the deals you want for free! That’s right, Groupon doesn’t charge any registration nor joining fees so you can hoard to your heart’s content.
For someone who invests on beauty and experience, I can truly say that Groupon is heaven-sent. With Groupon, you can pamper yourself as often and indulge more in life’s sweet pleasures. The only downside is, this thing can get addicting. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself browsing the site and checking out deals a little too often than necessary. Hahaha!
If you haven’t registered yet, what are you waiting for? There are plenty of deals waiting for you! Enjoy Grouponing!

Hoegaarden Rosée Hits Manila’s Bar Scene
Manila’s bar scene gets a welcome lift with the arrival of Hoegaarden Rosée, an exquisite rose-tinged, raspberry flavored beer with an intriguing character and a surprisingly refreshing taste.
Launched in the Philippines last month, the Rosée was heartily welcomed by the lifestyle media and female bloggers who came to Draft Gastropub, which was transformed into a veritable rose garden decked with pink and white blooms for the Rosée’s grand reveal.
Naturally different, this extremely light beer is envisioned to be a surefire hit among the sophisticated set, especially women, who would be captivated by its pink hue and would love its innate freshness. It is similar in body to the original Hoegaarden wheat beer, but is infused with the sweet taste of raspberry, creating a rich, fruity aroma with subtle hints of spice and coriander. Just like the original wheat version that Filipinos have come to love, the Rosée is fermented twice but is unfiltered, creating a cloudy appearance and smooth texture. The Rosée leaves no bitter aftertaste, making it the perfect choice for those ladies who want a quiet nightcap, something to pair with a meal, or simply want a drink that would help them to relax. With a low alcohol content of just 3%, the Rosée may even be enjoyed during lunch breaks or during those lazy afternoons spent lounging around the beach.
“Filipinos love variety, and the Hoegardeen Rosée is an exciting addition that Filipino beer lovers, especially women, would definitely enjoy. We have always felt that the female market needed more drink options, so we are delighted to bring the Rosée to the Philippines. Its sweet taste and lightness is perfect for the tropical climate of the Philippines,” said Chester Cabrera, Marketing Manager of Booze Online, Hoegaarden’s exclusive distributor in the Philippines.
Especially formulated by the Hoegaarden Brewery in Belgium, the Rosée is a concoction of barley malt, wheat, hops, coriander, Curaçao orange peel, Hoegaarden yeast, sugar, sweeteners, raspberry, strawberry, apple, and elderberry.
Hoegaarden Rosée is available in draught, 330mL can, 250mL bottle and a very classy 750mL bottle.
(Closed) BLOG GIVEAWAY: Win a $100 Gift Card From Sephora
Find Out How and Where to Get Good Deals When Online Shopping and Win $100 Gift Card From Sephora
If you like online shopping like most of us do, well then let me share with you three valuable tips on how you can save and where to score the best deals.
3 valuable tips on how you can save when online shipping:
The cardinal rule in smart shopping is to avoid paying in retail. So my first tip is to hunt for coupons before making a purchase. Couponing is the best way to save when shopping either in-store or online, and luckily, there are now sites that are solely dedicated for coupons. There are actually quite a few sites but the best one out there is DEALSPOTR.
Dealspotr is the “Wikipedia of deals” with thousands of community members posting and curating deals for 65,000 brands 24/7. In fact, it has 54% more working coupon codes than the other known coupon site, based on recent study.
(To know more about Dealspotr, you can visit and sign up here.)
Next tip is to stack coupons whenever possible.
Some retailers, allow you to use multiple coupons per transaction so maximize your savings by entering the codes strategically. So for example you have a coupon code for a $10 off purchase and another for a 15 percent discount off— enter the 15 percent discount code first, then the $10 code so you’ll get 15 percent off the full price of the item, before the $10 discount.
Lastly, avoid shipping fees. Most online stores offer free shipping if you spend a certain amount so take advantage of that. But in case you’re falling short of that minimum, search DEALSPOTR and more often than not, you’ll find a free shipping coupon on your favorite store.
Now that you know these handy tips, Dealspotr together with me LipstickandChopsticks.com, RonnaBonifacio.com, Krissyfied, MrsMommyholic, Tauyanm.com, and RochelleRivera.com want you to experience the “shopping high” so we’re giving away $100 Sephora gift card to one lucky winner.

Lucky Me! and Bingo Collaborates With Uniqlo for Limited Edition Tees
Monde Nissin collaborates with Uniqlo for limited edition tees
Emblazoned with Lucky Me! and Bingo’s distinctive designs, the shirts will be available in Uniqlo stores here and in Southeast Asia
They've been staples of Pinoys' homes for years. Now two beloved Filipino food brands appear front and center on quality cotton shirts by a global retail giant.
A collaboration between Monde Nissin Corporation and Japanese casual clothing label Uniqlo produced T-shirts carrying the distinctive designs of iconic Filipino brand, Lucky Me!, and the country’s favorite cookie sandwich, Bingo.
“The collaboration between Monde Nissin Corporation and Uniqlo sees the coming together of two companies that have well-loved brands and share the same goal of being part of people's lives through their world-class products,” says Melissa Pabustan, Monde Nissin's Head of Corporate Communications. “For years, Lucky Me! and Bingo have established themselves as favorite food brands. We are pleased that being part of Uniqlo's South East Asia Corporate Collaboration will allow our consumers here and abroad to enjoy and appreciate Lucky Me! and Bingo in a unique and fun way.”
“We are very happy about the warm acceptance of Filipinos for Uniqlo since 2012,” says Geraldine Sia, General Manager of Uniqlo Philippines. “As we continue being part of Filipinos’ everyday lives, we share the same joy as we partner with well-loved Filipino household brands Lucky Me! and Bingo. We believe that this partnership will bring Bingo, Lucky Me! and Uniqlo closer to Filipinos.”
As the leading instant noodle brand in the country, Lucky Me! has been a staple in every Filipino pantry with its wide array of products that are hinged on local flavors sure to appeal to the Filipino taste. The launch of this collaboration coincides with the recent release of the Kantar Brand Footprint Report, with Lucky Me! once again topping the list of fast moving consumer good brands in the Philippines in 2015. Meanwhile, as a catalyst of daily sweet connections, Bingo Cookie Sandwich continues to captivate consumers, especially today’s teens, with its creamy fillings spread between melt-in-your-mouth chocolate cookies, and its distinctively “kilig” commercials.
The limited edition collection will be available in all Uniqlo stores nationwide at PhP 590 each starting June 27. The shirts will also be available in Uniqlo stores in Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
Fun & Learning in a Box!
Thanks to my mommy blogger friend, May Palacpac of Fully Housewifed, we get to sample this awesome box full of fun activities called Buri Box.
Buri box, a brainchild of Adarna Publishing, is a monthly subscription box filled with books and educational materials for kids. It is actually made and developed for Filipino kids thus the books and activities feature concepts that they can easily relate to. Moreover, the materials are bilingual (English and Filipino) which I love because we’re raising a bilingual toddler.
Anyway, we got the set for toddlers which is for 3 – 5 year olds. The Buri box for toddlers contains 4 – 5 new preschool books, multiple worksheets, plus activities and art materials.
If you have older kids, no worries because they also have a set for big kids (6 – 8 year olds) called the Young Reader BuriBox which contains 5 new storybooks plus multiple worksheets, activities and art materials every month.
Here’s what it looks like:
Each box is nicely sealed and packaged.
Rafa loves everything inside the kit especially the painting materials!
I was not able to take photos of the books but there’s one called “Sampung Mga Daliri,” which is a popular children folk song. I taught Rafa the song with matching actions, thus, he learned not only a Filipino song but the body parts in Filipino as well. He now knows it by heart and sings it every single day!
We made this face chart while singing!
Playing with clay is one of our favorite activites but I prefer using homemade clay rather than store bought. I didn’t like the clay included in the kit as it’s way too sticky and has a weird smell.
Overall, Buri Box is pure fun and I recommend that all parents, homeschooling or not, to subscribe for your kids. Not only will they learn and enjoy but it will give you something to bond over with!
To find out more about BuriBox, visit their website www.buribox.com or like them on Facebook www.facebook.com/buribox.
To subscribe, just log on to their online subscription platform www.buribox.com, subscribe, and wait for your BuriBox to be delivered to your home. Take advantage of the launch price of P799 per month.
My Kitchen Project: Ginataang Manok (Chicken in Coconut Cream) With Papaya and Malunggay
Disclaimer: Do not cook this dish if you’re on a diet. Seriously!
We all know that any viand dish with gata or coconut milk/cream is “takaw kanin” and this dish is no exception. This will not only make you eat rice but lots and lots of it, as in! Should you still decide to give it a try, walang sisihan ha?
Ingredients:
1 kg native chicken preferably legs and thighs
1 medium sized green papaya, sliced
2 cups freshly squeezed coconut cream
Oil for sautéing, approx 5 tbsp.
4-6 cloves of garlic, minced
1 large onion, sliced.
4 stalks lemongrass, green tops removed then pale ends finely chopped (optional but I never do without when cooking chicken with gata)
1/4 cup (or more for stronger flavor) ginger, julienned
2 pcs green finger chillies (sibling pang-signage)
Freshly ground black pepper
Thai fish sauce to taste
To cook:
1. In a big pan (preferably a wok or kawali), heat oil and saute garlic, onion and ginger.
2. Add chicken and continue sautéing until it browns.
3. Add a little water then simmer until chicken is a bit tender and water is almost dry.
4. Pour coconut cream. Simmer over low fire until the chicken is soft and the coconut cream starts to become oily.
5. Add in papaya, green Chillies, and malunggay leaves and continue simmering for another 4 minutes.
6. Season with fish sauce and pepper according to your liking.
7. Remove from heat. Serve hot with plenty of rice.
Enjoy!
*This is a milk boosting dish for breastfeeding mommies. The more malunggay you put, the better! It can be a “TAMANG KAIN” meal also for your toddlers, Just omit the green chillies, pepper, and fish sauce.
MY KITCHEN PROJECT: Broccoli and Sundried Tomato Fussili
This simple yet flavor-packed pasta is one of California Pizza Kitchen’s classic dishes that I love. Fortunately, this is so easy to replicate at home, and thus, have made it a lot of times for my family and friends. Easy to prepare na, healthy pa...even my toddler loves it!
So, here’s my version of the dish and I hope you’ll try it!
Ingredients:
Dry fusilli pasta (I mixed fussili and farfalle in this recipe)
Extra virgin olive oil
Pepper and salt
Approx. 1⁄4 cup chopped fresh garlic
Chopped thyme or fresh sweet basil leaves
Sun-dried tomatoes, in oil, drained and thinly sliced
Blanched broccoli floret, drained, cut into bite size pieces
Fresh tomatoes, de-seeded and diced
Approx. 1 1⁄4 cups grated parmesan cheese (reserve 1/4 cup for garnish)
* I don’t really measure, I usually just wing it
To make:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to boil and cook pasta until al dente.
2. Heat olive oil in a pan and add garlic. When the garlic just begins to brown, add the sundried tomatoes followed by the fresh tomatoes. Toss and add the basil/thyme and blanched broccoli.
3. When broccoli is heated through, add cooked and drained pasta. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Add 1 cup parmesan cheese and mix.
5. Serve in pasta bowls with a fresh dusting of parmesan cheese.
Enjoy!
Give Your Puckers Some TLC with Lip Pure!
As a Makeup Artist, I take time prepping the skin of my clients to ensure a flawless application of makeup. I particularly give special attention to the lips and make sure to put liberal amount of lip balm / lip moisturizer repeatedly before putting on the lipstick to make it smooth, plump and kissable as no amount of makeup can cover up dry, unhealthy-looking lips.
We all know that regular use of products like lipsticks and tints can lead to dryness and flakiness so it’s important to have a good lip moisturizer like Mentholatum LIP PURE in your kit.
What I like about Lip Pure is that other than having all-natural food grade ingredients, it is also infused with anti-oxidants like Vitamin E and grape seed oil to keep lips youthful looking.
Mentholatum is one of my favorite drugstore lip care brands and I’ve been a user of their products since college (I used to hoard in Hong Kong). I use it until now and I use it on my clients too (check out this post to see which Mentholatum product I used on one artist's music video)!
Thank you Mentholatum for sending products over to make sure that my and my clients lips will all get the TLC that they deserve!
Lip Pure is available in all Watsons stores nationwide and retails for P129 per 3.5g tube
