the entire kusimayu scene was devastating but to me the worst part was that by Joining she not only lost her individuality but her culture died with her. immediately the hivemind stopped chanting and singing and speaking the quechuan language and rolled up their blankets and packed up their things and walked away. the animals were set free and the goat that kusimayu had been cradling so lovingly just minutes earlier chased after the hivemind wearing kusimayu's body and bleated for attention and love and got none because there is no one left to care specifically enough to give it.

This is why I can’t fathom why some people think Carol is the one against multiculturalism and the hivemind are, like, the woke diverse saviors. Like first of all communal cultures are not the same thing as a hivemind.

But literally all of the culture in the world is being stripped away and forgotten about. Languages are used only to communicate with the survivors, so there are a ton that just flat out aren’t being spoken anymore. Everyone acts and talks the same. They wear whatever clothes and eat whatever food is available. That’s the opposite of multiculturalism. There is no culture anymore. Just the hivemind.

the contrast between Carol being deliberately excluded by literally every human being on earth/her optimism and determination giving Manousos so much hope that he drives thousands and thousands of miles over the roughest terrain in the world just to see her…she isn’t alone!!! what she’s doing still matters, and if it matters to just one person maybe thats enough

Pluribus is like what if a woman was in the most deadly, isolating, predatory, abusive relationship in history- but her abuser was infinitely charismatic, beneficial to others, and SHE was a curmudgeonly, lonely, asocial person.

Could you still identify that she is the victim here? Or could the charismatic predator (who tries to lull her into a sense of lustful security with the smiling body of a corpse)(who controls her interaction with others, her access to food, and the safety of her home)(who kills 11 million hostages any time she gets angry at them)(who intends openly to consume/kill her) convince you that actually she's the bad guy. Because she's too mean to them.

Especially potent that the creators know they're talking to breaking bad fans - who were able to see skylar white as a whiny bitch when her murderous husband sexually assaulted her in like season one and then continued getting worse.
