Oh? What sort of tomfoolery did they manage to pull on you? You've got my curiosity now.
Dasan's an interesting name. I can't recall ever hearing it before so I think I'd prefer to use that.

You know the best part of my job has to be watching as people gulp down liquid courage and end up standing on one of the tables singing some godawful song. It's more than a little hilarious in my own opinion.
Regardless, my name is Jake English and it's splendid to meet you.

Ah yes, you're that dapper alternate of mine. It's been quite a while chap. How've things been? I hope you're doing well.

You'd think by now everyone would be over the Fourth of July. But I'll have you know I was just scared half to death by fireworks suddenly going off while I was walking home from work. These old boys apparently haven't stopped having their fun yet and I think it's a tad bit ridiculous.
Sorry about that long winded introduction, chum. Jake English at your service. Something I can help you with?
Hoo boy, I haven't been on in quite some time. Terribly sorry for that everyone.
It’s a pleasure to meet ya too Jake. The game is called Don’t starve and I’ve been hooked on it for the past two weeks. It was gifted to me and honestly I have no idea what I would do without it. Basically it’s an 2D survival game that gives off a small horror game vibe. It’s 15 dollars but hell, it’s worth it.
I’ve been doin’ that for years now, sittin’ on my ass and workin’. It’s to the point where I’m beginnin’ to become a pro at it. Since I’m on vacation though I’ve been tryin’ to stop that so I can enjoy myself without havin’ to worry ‘bout work.
Oh yes, I've stumbled across that once! The animation is so pleasantly creepy I must say. I'm glad you're enjoying yourself so much, ole boy.
What is it that you do for a living, Derrick? I'm quite content being a bartender, and since my job is so lively I didn't even think to ask for the summer off nor quit nor anything of the sort. I might switch my shift from night to morning however, but I'm not certain yet. Mornings are much more calm but they leave little stories to recount.
Sounds good to me. I’m not really doin’ much anymore since I got done playin’ a game not too long ago. Since we’ve never talked before it would probably be good to introduced ourselves and all that other junk.
The name’s Derrick but you can call me Bro. I use the pronouns He/Him/His.
Good to meet you Derrick! Jake English here, and I use he/him/his pronouns as well. It's fantastic to meet you! Might I inquire as to what game you were playing out of curiosity's sake?
I myself haven't been up to very much. I'm taking my summer off as far as college is concerned, so I've really only been either working or at home sitting around on my tuchus like I have not a care in the world! So all in all my life has been pretty uneventful lately.

I'm taking you liking my post as a sign that you'd like to chat with me like we're two old chums. What say you to that? Does that sound agreeable to you?
It's a darn shame that people don't chat with me more often.
Dirk strides in, his tie loose, holding his briefcase loosely. He sighs, walking up to the bar and leaning up against the counter. "A Scotch on the rocks please," He clears his throat, pulling out papers quietly.
"Not a problem my good sir," Jake hums as he pours the customer his drink. As soon as it's up to par, the brunette sets it down in front of the blonde with a soft grin tugging at his lips. "Hard day?" He inquires before returning to wiping off the counter as he had no one else to serve at the moment.
Most people usually find that bartenders do not truly care for their clientele. Jake, however, will gladly listen to anyone who wishes to share with him. That's the main reason why he was so well acquainted by now with many of the bar's regulars. But he enjoys lending people an ear, hearing their stories, and hopefully bring a little light to their day.
He truly enjoys his job.
BC SHORT JAKE AND LANKY DIRK R ALSO MY FAVE SO
working at subway isnt exactly high class either being a bartender isnt your dream job? so what is
Oh it's not that. I quite enjoy my job and I'd be content to do it for the rest of my life. But it's just--I have a reputation to live up to I feel like. So the least I can do is see if anything more glamorous steals my interest, a high status and/or high paying sort of job. Giving it a try and all that.
Also for the record, if you're happy with your life, you shouldn't ever feel bad about your job either.
“Coffee and a park sounds lovely,” he admits.
Dirk runs a hand through his hair again before looking down at his clothing. He wonders if the converse he chose last minute make his outfit any better, but either way, he does feel nice in the outfit, he doesn’t get to wear a dress shirt too often and not feel over dressed. But he does fiddle with his sleeves a little bit before looking up and offering a half grin.
“Like the bow tie,” He inserts, “I thought about wearing one but it wasn’t in my books today you know? Any way, want to lead the way?“
He steps up to the other and offers his arm, keeping up with their vaguely since of being cheesy between the two of them, he hopes it helps relax Jake because personally the man looks like he is about to jump out of his skin.
Jake lets out a soft sigh, his expression turning to a soft smile directed toward Dirk. He tugs just a bit at his shirt collar while he shifts his weight. "Oh? I'm glad to hear you don't think I look too much of a--er--dork for lack of a better term," he chuckles.
The man was actually quite fond of bowties and wore them more often than not unless he simply didn't care at all about his appearance in which case he wouldn't try at all. There seemed to be little moderations in his style, more so extremes.
"I'd be happy to." His shoulders seem to relax just a tad as he takes the other's arm, walking them off in the direction of the café he had in mind though he casts his glance away for a moment. "So I'm certain you can tell, but I don't usually go out on dates--ever really. So you'll have to forgive me if I seem quite nervous about this whole thing. It's not that it's personal--because I really do think we can have a splendid time--I'm just awkward about it I suppose and I'm not really sure what to even talk to you about. Apologies, ahah."
Dirk chooses to spend his day in something just as nice but a little less up tight. A nice pair of well fitting dark jeans and a tucked in white button up with his sleeves rolled up. He considered suspenders and a tow tie too but opted for a cream orange and white in laid tie that he thinks sets off his hair and eyes pretty well.
But eventually he stops fiddling with his outfit, knowing he looks fine enough for a day out to impress any one. He is a little nervous though, he supposes he is excited to go on a date after so long. Yes, he has dated recently but he thinks that he is more excited about this one and the prospect of a relationship it offers.
So running a hand through his hair and pushing it outside his face he is outside and waiting. It’s not a long wait thankfully, he smiles with Jake arrives with, oddly enough, flowers in hand. He laughes softly and smiles, greeting him and taking them into his hands. How traditional he supposes? They are beautiful either way.
“Thank you, they are lovely” He says softly and holds them in a lax grip, “How are you?”
Jake couldn't help how his cheeks flushed at the other's laughter and he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. Right, he knew it was cheesy.
"Well, as long as you like them," he murmurs before clearing his throat once again. "I'm doing quite well, though admittedly a tad nervous about this whole thing. And I didn't want to go overboard with something extraordinarily extravagant. But I thought perhaps just a coffee and a walk in the park--I know a very breathtaking spot." As he's speaking, his hands are moving in small gestures as if to emphasize his words.
"I hope that's all right, but if it isn't I'm completely fine changing it up!" He shifts his weight, glancing away from Dirk for a brief moment before his gaze returns to the other male.
"You look quite snazzy if I may say so, by the way."
Can’t wait to see what you have planned.

Waitin’ outside for you.
After receiving Dirk's last message, Jake slips his phone into his pocket. The poor boy was just a wreck with nerves, so uncertain about how to date. Honestly, if one of his friends hadn't harried him about doing such a thing, he probably wouldn't have considered it so much. But when Dirk had inquired about wanting to go on a date, Jake figured it couldn't hurt and he could keep the woman from pestering him about his non-existent love life. Besides worst case scenario they'd just remain friends, and best case scenario perhaps they would be much more.
Jake made sure to adjust the black bowtie he had on once more before he made his way to the transportalizer and headed right over to Dirk's. He had to clear his throat a few times, attempting to keep himself collected and perfectly presentable.
He was dressed in a pale green button-up, with black dress pants, black dress shoes, and, as mentioned, a black bowtie accompanying his ever present green rimmed glasses. The moment he saw Dirk, he couldn't help but smile at him and wave. Cheesy as he knows it probably was, the young English had brought him flowers--nothing too fancy, just a bouquet of white carnations and lavender.
"I hope I didn't take too long. Ah--these are for you."
Whenever you like!

Just give me a heads up if you are not coming over now so I am not taken off-guard.
I can be over in a few minutes if that is indeed fine.
