King Joko vs Aurene polymer clay sculpture
It is finally done, my biggest sculpture to date 🩶
Aurene and Palawa Joko are some of my favourite characters of the Guild Wars franchise, and I absolutely loved sculpting them.
If you want to know where this scene comes from, it’s from the Path of Fire expansion, which has some awesome story-telling.
Made out of polymerclay (Cosclay) and painted with acrylics. Aurene’s crystals were made shimmery by coating them in a mixture of gloss varnish and blue mica powder
Sculpture in progress:
The end of a king
(Joko vs Aurene)
I am almost done with painting the sculpture, but was not happy with Aurene’s colours, so I completely changed them.
The sculpture is now fully assembled, just need to do the last touches on Aurene
Work in progress:
Silver flower pendant
Everything is soldered, the bezels are added, now I just have a lot of sanding and refining to do
After this, I can set the gemstones
Just one problem, the longer I look at it, the more I think it would be prettier as an intricate bracelet?
Some more progress on the silver necklace wip:
Needs some more cleaning, refining and maybe some stones? 💎
Something completely different than my normal content:
925 silver spider plant necklace wip
Work in progress:
Gw2 sylvari ball-jointed doll
I’m still working on the ball-jointed doll of my sylvari reaper
This one is made out of Monsterclay and wooden beads for temporary joints. She is not fully hollow yet, and still need to start on her hands
The Monsterclay version will be used to make a casting mould
This is my first time sculpting a bjd and human(like) anatomy and is proving quite difficult. Please let me know if you have any tips or tricks
Painting Aurene will resume when the heat goes down, my paint dries faster than I can use it for the moment 🎨😢
Because you can never too many projects at the same time, a new work in progress:
Gw2 sylvari ball-jointed doll
More pictures below ⬇️
I’ve been wanting to make my main sylvari reaper into a ball-jointed doll for a while
This puppet is a rough sketch made with Monsterclay, to see how all the channels line up
When the sketch is done, it will be moulded and cast in Acrystal. This first cast will be refined and cast again to make the master mould
(And yes, I’m still painting Aurene too 😁)
Work in progress:
Polymer clay Aurene sculpture
(For “The end of a king” sculpture)
Our favourite dragon is finally showing her colours 🎨
End of a king

(More pictures below ⬇️)
Finished Joko’s weapon yesterday, the Staff of the Inevitable
Now all that is left is to paint the base of the sculpture and Aurene, and it is finally fully finished
I finished painting my Palawa Joko polymer clay sculpture yesterday 🎨 Today I start on the base of the sculpt an Joko’s staff
Painting time 🎨
Palawa Joko
(Still a work in progress)
The king is almost done, he just needs some minor details and shadows painted.
All painting is done with acrylic paint.
Finished sculpture:
The end of a king
(Palawa Joko vs Aurene sculpture)
(More pictures below ⬇️)
I finally finished the Joko vs Aurene sculpture, my biggest sculpt to date.
This one is completely made out of polymer clay (Cosclay) over a wire and aluminium foil armature. The gems in Joko’s armor are blue cubic zirconias.
The whole sculpture weighs almost 1,5kg (or 3,3 pounds) and is 18cm tall (7inch), 34cm wide (13,5inch) and 40cm long (16inch).
The next stap will be painting and then gilding some of the parts and it will finally be fully done.
“The rumors of my immortality are drastically… understated.” - Palawa Joko
Work in progress:
The end of a king
(Joko vs Aurene sculpture)
(More pictures below ⬇️)
(Please don’t mind the crappy pictures, it’s almost midnight here, so the lightning does not help)
I completed Aurene’s claws and put her limbs in the position I roughly want them to be
This now needs to firm up for the night (the heatwave here is not really helping, the clay is a bit too soft), so I can hopfully finish her tomorrow
Joko and the staff are fully done, so this is the last sculpting part before painting 🎨
Work in progress:
The end of a king
(A GW2 inspired Palawa Joko vs Aurene sculpture
His staff is done, Joko himself is done, all that is left is to finish Aurene’s front claws, and then it’s painting time 🎨
This sculpture is completely made out of polymerclay (Cosclay) and Joko’s gemstones in his armor are little blue cubic zirconias
(More pics below ⬇️)
Work in progress:
GW2 Staff of the Inevitable
(For the Joko vs Aurene sculpt)
Some more progress on the top half of the staff, which is almost done. The bottom half is still in the beginning stages.
The dimensions are slightly off, but to be honest, it doesn’t really bother me, the finished sculpt is going to be very large anyway
Work in progress:
Gw2 Staff of the Inevitable
(Because every king needs a weapon)
Sorry for the bad picture quality 😅
And yes, this is how I work, some screenshots/ render on one screen, movie on the other and it’s sculpting time 😁
