as south korea’s second most densely populated city, there’s never a dull moment in bucheon. one would think that with it’s festivals, bars, restaurants, shopping centers, and tourist attractions, it’d be enough for the citizens living there. but there’s a new app that has been introduced into the city, one that shocks some and keeps others absolutely captivated if they’re not the ones joining in. and it’s name? nerve. the game? truth or dare. one where you pay to watch or get paid to play.

Beyond the wrought iron gates of Reed College lies a group of students, skeptics and believers, who tirelessly search for answers. What happens when we die? Do we cease to exist, or live on in another dimension? Can we really talk to the dead? The paranormal has always been a mystery, inviting more confusion rather than understanding. Between the anomalies, the phenomenons, and the evidence, a small group of self-taught investigators and self-proclaimed psychics hunt for the truth. 

Their goal? Contact, communication, visitation.

VISITATION RPG is a literate skeleton horror-based roleplay inspired by shows such as Buzzfeed Unsolved and Ghost Adventures. The story revolves around a group of students residing in a small college town just outside of Portland where Professor Lilian Zhou has created an entire curriculum based on the spectral sciences. Her teachings have inspired her students to make their own youtube show: Visitation. They simply wish to document their experiences and show the world just how real the paranormal can be.

This one time I was at a street festival hosted by my Uni and there was a guy doing card tricks. I was watching him when I noticed he dropped a card. (7 of spades) I quickly pu my shoe in it and then bent down to act like I was tying my shoe. He then asks for a volunteer so I raise my hand. He asks me to say the name of a card at random so I say “7 of spades” he does his trick that I guess was supposed to make it come on top. He holds up the Ace of Hearts and says “is this your card?” And I hold up the card and said “no but this is” and the crowd LOST IT. I handed the card back to the magician and walked away. Later he comes up to me and asks me how I did it. I looked him in the eye, smiled and said “magicians never reveal their secrets” and walked away.
