So today went well food wise considering my mum, sister and I were out basically all day. I actually ended up feeling very nauseous after lunch which is why I didn't finish the frozen blueberry but I don't think I'm gonna be eating McDonald's again anytime soon so that's a positive. But yeah, today was alright with how and what I ate.

Three days without binging. Tbh I nearly actually binged later at night because emotional eating only to realise that I couldn't get the comfort food I wanted because the place had shut for the night. I settled for cheese instead which is better than an entire thing of garlic bread from dominos. I don't like keeping garlic bread in the house because then its too available for me to binge on which is already too easy for me to do since I love garlic bread too much. Having to sneak out to take a 30 minute round walk or sneakily get it delivered stops me from getting most of the time.
I'm a bit anxious about tomorrow (today technically) since I'm going out with my mum and sister. My sister wants to go dress shopping for her formal and I like getting out the house since having no job and no license or car leaves me stuck here 90% of the week. Anyway, I don't know how lunch is going to go. I don't know if we'll actually be out that long but if we are I know I might end up triggering a binge. Hopefully I won't but we'll see what happens I guess.

Another low intake day! It seems like eating eggs is helping me to stop snacking before dinner. I'm kinda doing an egg fast except not really which is why I added butter to my scrambled eggs and had some cheese. I'm sticking to the rules (for the most part) for everything before dinner because I know I won't get away with eating only eggs at dinner. I'm still getting urges to binge from after ten at night but there's not much I like to eat in the house and I'm not craving fast food so I'm not sneaking out to go buy some or ordering it through an app either.
I think I'm getting my eating back under control for the most part which I'm definitely happy about but whether or not I can keep it up is another story.
Took me a long ass time to understand this.

Wooo! This is my lowest calorie intake in months! Even with the snacking I shouldn't have done. I can only hope I can make sure this continues.
Think you eat too much to have a problem?
Many active people (women included) eat 3000+ calories a day and stay plenty lean.
The recommended daily calorie intake is 2000 for women and 2500 for men.
The recommended daily calorie intake for weight loss is 1500 for women and 2000 for men.
A 5-year-old needs about 1400 calories or more every day.
The minimum daily calorie intake for a long-term diet without medical supervision is 1200 for women and 1800 for men. Eating less than that eventually leads to starvation mode (a real–yes, real–state of biological stress characterized by decreased metabolism, increased cortisol production, and heart, brain, organ, bone, and muscle damage).
A 2-year-old needs about 1000 calories or more every day.
Most people can’t even imagine eating 1000 calories in a day. You’ll get 1,357 Google results if you search for the exact phrase “1000 calories is way too low” or “1000 calories is way too little”…but you’ll get even more results if you Google the same phrases for 1200 calories, because few people consider dipping below 1200.
A 3-digit daily calorie intake puts you at high risk for binge-eating, slowed metabolism, bone and muscle loss, nutritional deficiencies, gastrointestinal issues, infertility, hair loss, mood swings, and depression. Oh–and sudden death.
900 calories is less than what a completely sedentary, 5'0", 80 lb, 70-year-old woman burns daily (keeping in mind that your metabolism slows with age).
A very low calorie diet, also known as a starvation diet, is 800 calories a day or less. It is prescribed by doctors to obesity patients who need to lose weight quickly, is specially formulated to be nutritionally complete, and is monitored by medical professionals to prevent sudden cardiac arrest and death. It is considered an extreme diet.
600 calories a day or less is literal starvation.
500 calories is less than the daily calorie needs of the average 1-month-old.
400 calories is less than the daily calorie needs of the average newborn.
300 calories is less than what the adult brain alone burns every day.

READ IT THEN READ IT AGAIN
READ THIS. READ IT. PLEASE. FOR ANYONE WHO THINKS THAT THEIR CALORIE LIMIT ISN’T THAT LOW, OR THAT THEY’VE EATEN TOO MUCH- READ THIS.
Sometimes I need to read this again because I feel like shit when I eat more than 500 calories
Yesterday I took it as a “day off” and I ate 3 normal meals (cereals, pizza and couscous) and I’ve passed like 1000 calories and I felt like I’ve binged. Now I’m realising how fucked up my brain is getting…
I normally wouldn’t ask for something to be reblogged but…we are all sick and everyone in this community needs to see this post at least once.
Starvation mode
Yay?
pov: im a newborn baby apparently
READ IT AGAIN. I WILL NEVER NOT REBLOG THIS!!!!

Heeeey I'm not dead. Sorry for my absence on my blog but here's an explanation and a bit of an update. I was going through a bit of a hard time and my depression was getting really bad. Thankfully, I'm finally on antidepressants although I'm currently weaning off the one (escitalopram) I'm on to go onto something different.
I was binging and not exercising before I got onto escitalopram and the binging got worse soon after I started. My eating hasn't calmed down entirely but its starting to taper off and I'm actually feeling sick if I eat top much. The escitalopram was leading to me feeling like I hadn't eaten at all and now that I'm only taking 5mg every second day its not like that anymore.
Strangely, I've only gained back about half the weight I'd lost (although that's based on night time weighing) and I'm thinking a lot of it is actually water weight because I'm still fitting into size 8 clothing which I'm thankful for. I think once I get my eating back under control properly I'll lose fairly easily initially.
My GP suggested I go on pristiq next. It's an entirely different class of antidepressant but the escitalopram has been causing my eczema to flare up on my face which is starting to stop now that I'm weaning off it. Apparently antidepressants can cause it to flare up but SSRIs are more likely to do it. Anyway, apparently some potential side effects of pristiq are loss of appetite and weight loss so I'm hoping for that.
It's weird because when my depression is at its worst, its like my ed doesn't exist. I don't care about what I'm eating or how much I'm eating, I just want to comfort eat. When my ed is at its worst, my depression is actually manageable and I'm actually doing more to take care of myself asides from the eating restrictions. It's wild.
Anyway, that's the update. I should be active more often again soon. Sorry again for not being active for the past few months.
stepping on the scale and weighing less than you expected...
This is the best feeling in the world
i loooooove this feeling
