How come your blog is dashboard only? I really liked the I spy background it had (not upset, just curious)
It's not dashboard only, though it used to be a while back. Maybe clear the cache?
i hope you're doing well :)
Thank you, I am! Hoping the same to you :)
oh my gosh ur back!!! :0
Yep, at least kind of.. It's really heartwarming to see that this many people didn't forget about me :)
What was your dream job when you were a child vs what are you doing now? How about your siblings? (also, so happy that you are okay!)
My dream job as a kid was to be a zookeeper, and let's just say that what I'm currently doing is quite far from that haha.. but I'm happy with where I am right now, so I'm not complaining. As for my siblings, I'm not sure, I'd have to ask them! And thank you!
Do you have any advice for someone who struggles constantly with nostalgia? I can't seem to let go and be happy being an adult, sometimes I even envy children...
That's a difficult one, as I'm very much the same way.. although I've improved a lot these past few years, to the point where nostalgia rarely makes me depressed like it used to, but what helped me won't be the solution for everybody.
Nostalgia itself isn't a bad thing, but if that longing for the past starts to consume you, then it of course becomes unhealthy. My teenage years are a blur because all I ever did was look back and long for what used to be instead of accepting it has passed, reminiscing fondly, and moving forward, while not forgetting. At the time I didn't fully make the connection, but I lived constantly in the past because of how empty my current life felt compared to how wonderful and idyllic my childhood was.
You don't need to abandon your childhood memories or forget who you once were, but to also find things in your present-day life that bring you fulfillment and happiness as well - find new joys, make new memories. In my case, I met a lovely guy three years ago who restored light into my life and saved me in that regard, where I no longer indulge in that unhealthy escapism all the time. Now I can still look back on my memories fondly, but without it sending me into a pit of sadness every time, because there’s so much to be happy about and look forward to right now!
What fills that "void" will be different for everyone, but try to think about what brings light to your current life - hobbies, interests, relationships, dreams. Accept that those times were great but are now over, and that there is happiness to be found from the present before that too passes by. Adulthood isn't the end, there's also fun to be had and things to do now that you're older. Appreciate the past, hold onto nostalgia, but don't let it "drag at your heart until you can't do anything but look back."
This probably wasn't terribly helpful as I've never been good at giving advice, but I'm open to talk and anyone is welcome to add to this. Hope you're well, anon ♡
i'm so glad you're back! i was just checking your blog and i noticed you were back and i'm so happy. your blog has always been a source of comfort for me <3
Thank you, I'm really happy to hear that <3 I'll try to start posting all that's been sitting in my drafts soon!
What's your favorite picture of your childhood? And do you have a favorite memory? Glad to know you are back and everything is okay
Hi and thank you!
- Goodness, that's a hard question.. If I had to pick just one, I think it'd have to be a tie between this one,
watching Frosty the Snowman on VHS in the middle of summer while the house is being renovated. It's a rarely captured candid moment just featuring our everyday life, and gives me such a warm and wistful feeling inside. And this one
because it captures that genuine unbridled joy experienced as a child so well, and also because I actually remember that day. Hooking that See 'n Say toy to the handle is one of my earliest memories.
But some of my other favorites can be found here :)
- As for a favorite memory, that's also a hard one, but something that comes to mind is in 2005 when my little sister and I woke up very early in the morning before everyone else to go play with our My Little Pony toys in the playroom, reenacting the "A Charming Birthday" episode. We had a whole town set up and everyone had a role, so many stories we made up.. Two other nice memories are watching cartoons like Care Bears or Rugrats in the basement late at night, drifting in and out of sleep by the glowing light of the TV, as well as all the adventures my cousins and I went on in the woods near our grandma's house.
i love this blog with all my heart!

Hopefully I'll return to some extent soon, I have over 300 posts that've been sitting in my drafts for years haha
Hey, how old are you and your sisters? You guys reminded me of my own sis, I miss those days so much 💖🌈
Asked Jul 11, 2020
Hey! Well this is kind of crazy to actually think about, but as of today I'm 22 and my siblings are 19 & 17. And I agree.. I'll always cherish the memories and adventures we had growing up together 🌠
The blue unicorn plush you have, I use to have the same one and I loved it ever so much but my evil caretaker threw it (and 100+ stuffies) away when I was staying with my father when I was younger to hurt my feelings (she intact scared me)..... what I’m trying to say is tysm for posting a picture of yours so I could remember mine and what it looked like exactly, I’d buy him from you but I’m assuming that’s not in the cards lol still, thank you for the good memories reminder

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, that was awful of her to do. Sadly I can't bear to part with my own "Una" as I named her, but if you're still interested in a replacement to honor your unicorn's memory, there are a few on Ebay for example if you search "blue unicorn animal alley". Hope all is well with you, anon ♡
i hope this isn't a weird question or something but,,, what do u look like now? 😊
Asked Nov 13, 2019
Not weird at all! Well I'm too insecure to post an actual picture of current-day me, but I look quite vastly different from my child self, unfortunately. For example, my hair naturally turned very dark brown as I grew up, although I color it a light brown/blonde because it makes me feel more like "myself". But besides that, I'm short and have long hair, and the rest is better left to imagination haha
hi, how do u pronounce your name? (x
Asked Jul 23, 2019
It's pronounced ko-set, to the curious :) I was named after a character from the novel/musical "Les Misérables"
i miss you so much it hurts sometimes 💗 like youre just such an interesting person, the way you document every aspect of your childhood and have so many blogs dedicated to nostalgia is so fascinating to me, and ive never seen anyone who describes feelings of nostalgia as well as you. you seem like such a kind soul and i feel like we have a lot in common. i can tell you have a VERY creative mind. your blog is so peaceful and beautiful too. hope everything's going well, love 💕

Wow, I'm really touched by this, I don't know what to say. Sorry I didn't see your message sooner, but it fills me with such warmth knowing others relate to and can understand these hard-to-explain nostalgic feelings of mine. Wishing you the best too, whoever you are ♥
