4 pages done!
(This is almost a decade old, by the way. T-T)
3 pages out of a 30 page pattern done!
Mostly worked on starmie :3
Worked on starmie. :3
It's back! OMG, we're getting Pokemon Crossstitch Hell updates again!
The problem was is that I craft while watching shows, but this one I was using the online pattern, which complicated watching things. XD
So I just went "fuck it" and printed the whole THIRTY ONE PAGE pattern document. XD
So I'm Running a 5th Edition Game
But no longer!
We have just completed the FINAL session.
It was a bit shorter, and also I'm a bit tired, so this will be a shorter post than normal.
When we left off, the part was essentially facing a godzilla sized problem made of corruption and forest in a dragon shape.
They made their way down from the tower and out of the city to chase after the death dragon that was Mouyld, who was on her way to destroy the world.
Braeburn essentially leapt onto the gargantuan dragon and hacked and slashed at it, but even though he kept rolling crits and dealing huge amounts of damage, the dragon kept healing back to full each turn.
The rest of the party was very distracted for several turns, as Mouyld essentially cast dominate person on them, and succeeded on B'bar and Quaff, who both then believed they were elves of Mouyld's court of Ser'Alun, who then attacked Isaac for several turns.
Eventually they both succeeded on their saves, and Quaff went to attack Mouyld - Isaac managed to call on Baron the Many Souled to defuse a magical attack from the dragon.
Quaff and Braeburn attacked the dragon and rolled enough damage to bring it to 0 hitpoints, and B'bar perceived the dragon's weakness - they had to attack her heart! Striking at the same time and successfully, Braeburn and Quaff landed a strike at the same instant and destroyed the foul beast's heart.
The great form collapsed in on itself, the gray skies started to clear, and as sun touched the blighted, corrupted parts of the forest, they began to wither.
We spent several minutes summaring what everyone was going to do (NOT rule any kingdoms, NOONE wanted ANY of that. xD), and then we ended, for the last time!
I checked the date of the FIRST post I made, and according to it our first session was in 2020 on June 17th - this last session was 4 years later to the DAY. :3
So I'm Running a 5th edition game
We left off mid battle with the dragon - she was focusing on the barbarian, knowing him to be the most difficult of the group and one of the worst dangers, and actually doing damage, and then she had done the rude thing of diving down the side of the tower and out of sight of ranged attacks.
Isaac managed to halt the turning of the forge, forcing Mouyld to only stay within one area. She attacks Braeburn, tearing at him with teeth and claws, then is forced to stay on the tower and within range because the forge is frozen. Quaff flew in close to attack the dragon, then got blasted away by a wing blast. B'bar rolled a low deception, but Mouyld rolled worse and he convinced her he had the orb...but that only made her decide to avoid him, rather than focus on him, which had been his intent because his party members were injured. Isaac studied the forge and realized it was going to be difficult to open, and probably not easily doable while they were being attacked by a dragon. He cast phantasmal killer on Mouyld, and she failed the save. With horrors and torments from her own mind plaguing her, she was for a moment distracted as Braeburn ran at her and leapt into the air and nearly cut her arm from her body with an astonishing strike. Roaring in pain, she backwings, moving back and trying to get into position to use her poison breath - an opportunity attack from braeburn and from Quaff left her with a handful of hitpoints left, but she still lived. Screeching in pain, she opened her jaws and let poison breath spill out from between them. Rolling 16d6 (and getting 1s on half of them. -_-), she hit the entire party. braeburn was bloodied, Quaff was down, Isaac was bloodied. But it was literally her last gasp, as Isaac's spell shattered her mind and sent her crashing down, her limp body halfing hanging off the side of the tower.
The party picked the lock and forced the door of the forge open and, looking at the others for a moment, Isaac tossed the Orb inside. A flash of magical energy and a blinding light so bright and intense that it could be seen from the Spire, many miles away. Eventually it faded, and the party saw the physical form of the Orb burning away, leaving only an energy...and around them, 4 humanid forms and a dragon spirit - those who had created the Orb and who had been tied to it since.
The dragon spirit, eternally shedding scales of every dragon color like petals froma tree, leapt into the air and disappeared into the sky. The monks spoke, releasing the party from their oaths. The party is given flashesof images, showing the effects their quest has had upon the lands. The party is given a choice - use the energy of the orb to become the rulers of the land, or release its energy and le tthe lands be free to choose their own destinies. Theparty agrees on freedom, and the energy burns aay, leaving only ash...and oathstones, one for each member of the party that had sworn an oath to the orb.
The monks nod and fade away...
And then the party hears a sound. And looks towards the corpse to see it moving, unnaturally, as if animated oddly by something from within. The corpse twists and slithers as it slides off the tower, landing far below with a crunch that shatters its bones to pieces, and yet it still moves. It moves into one of Mouyld's poisonous gardens, as the plants there reach out and tear the flesh from thecorpse's bones, leaving behind a skeletal dracolich...but then even that is broken and torn away, leaving only Mouyld's heart, which is pulled into the ground...which a moment later shakes and erupts as an enormous figure of plant and tree and rock and ground lurches up and up and up, hundreds of feet, into a massive dragon of earth and poison and death.
And we ended there for the night. ^-^
So I'm Running a 5th edition game
And we're at the final encounter!
After a long trek up a tower, the party has come out a trapdoor at the top and have found the Arcane Forge they have been seeking. Worn out, many missing hit points and ki points and spell and slots, the end of the quest is in sight...
But first they have to deal with the dragon that just landed on the forge in front of them.
Since we're on the last encounter, we'll be trying to play weekly to get it done. This week was a short one, because we started late.
Essentially Mouyld showed up, harsh words were traded (especially from Isaac, who called her a big meanie, among other things, which is harsh for Isaac.) Unfortunately, every single party member failed the save against her Frightening Presence, which made the first couple turns difficult.
And while she was easy to hit, she has a lot of health. And she's much smarter than her minions, and is focusing her attacks on Braeburn.
The party does manage to figure out that they will not be able to use the Orb of Dragon Souls on her as long as she stays within the light of the Arcane Forge, because of a metal cuff she has upon her foreleg.
After a couple of rounds, she's not even bloodied yet, and she has darted over the side of the tower and out of sight.
And we end there for the night!
There were a lot of nat 1s, which was funny because I made a joke last time about how they got a lot of nat 20s and used up their quota for the game. x3
So I'm Running a 5th edition game
Last time the group prepared to climb out a window and up the outside of the tower wall to get to the next floor without having to deal with a half dragon.
This time they...did that. xD
They did so succuessfully, not catching Spore's attention (Braeburn used one of the group's special abilities they earned to roll with advantage, which is good because it turned a failed stealth roll into a nat 20)
The next stair had no wall, it had fallen away or been broken away, and there was a hole leading up into it. There was some kind of slime oozed partway down the stairway, making it difficult to climb - everyone succeeded, though. B'bar super succeeded, with back to back nat 20s.
The next floor was the hatchery, and it reeked with rotting carrion and old eggs. There was a statue guarding the door to the stairs - with a nat 20 arcana, Isaac realized it was a shield guardian. The party looked around, and they noticed a painting that had a surprisingly shiny necklace, which they realized was the amulet for the shield guardian. They made their way over to it and took turns trying to pry it out.
Braeburn leapt from one side of the floor to the other, landed with a thump, and proceeded to nat 20 a sleight of hand check to pry it out of the wall.
He froze, as the sound of his landing alerted Spore in the lower floor, and handed the amulet off to Isaac, who commanded the shield guardian to let them pass so they could head up the stairs before Spore got to them.
This stair led to a trapdoor roof access, and going through it they found themselves on the roof, with a massive magical forge nearby...and we ended there for now!
So I'm Running a 4th Edition Game
This was a short game, so there isn't a whole lot to say, actually. We did a recap at the beginning, then our missing player popped in for a bit halfway through so we ended up doing some recap of the session so far, then he left after a bit, and then another player ran out of energy and we ended early.
In the treasure room they discovered a half dragon warrior there, clad in armor layered with gems from top to bottom, that was literally hard to look at. He heard the party trying to sneak and confronted them.
2 successful and 2 failed deception rolls from the party later, he didn't believe that, as they claimed, they were here to audit the treasure. He didn't call out the guard to take them away, but he didn't let them pass, either, and told them to leave.
The party did, and then reconsidered their options. They remembered there being a hole in the wall and checked out the windows to see if it was possible to climb up to it, which seemed doable, though not everyone could fit out of the windows.
Looking around in the floor below the treasure room, they found a window that had some damage around it. Working together, they managed to break the wall around the window to get it open enough for even the wider party members to make it through.
Isaac does some scouting, since he has a climb speed and can climb easily, and he discovers that they can get up to the hole, but there's a very good chance the half dragon will see them. They start making more plans, but this is the point when one player runs out of energy and we end for the night.
So I'm Running a 5th Edition game
We only did one encounter tonight, because a player was out, and it's gonna be a fairly short description because it was mostly people interacting with an npc who was...quite unique, but most of that uniqueness was in her voice and hard to describe in text. xD
Essentially, this floor was...filled with fabric. With clothes, of all styles and colors and types, good and bad, clean and wornout. And the party could hear someone wailing dramatically to themselves about no longer having a muse and being trapped in this place of no culture, and so on.
Isaac and B'bar stealthed, Isaac headed over to where the other door should be, but it was buried behind a pile of clothes and furs. While he was doing that, b'bar listened to the spirit for a few moments, then revealed himself to speak with her. She gasped and was immediately struck by him and what he was wearing and immediately started trying to dress him up for a fashion show. (At this point, they realize she's some kind of ghost and, whatever sense of fashion she had in life, she had it no longer, as B'bar got dressed up in the most mismatched and horrendous outfit imaginable, including a pair of cheap pants worn as a cape.)
She also notices Braeburn at this point, and is fascinated by him, but in a very different way. She finds him intensely attractive, and tugs him into the room so she can dress him up...in the most revealing, tiniest outfit she puts together. Being very dexterous, she somehow manages to get most of his clothes off before he realizes and hands off his 'outfit' for him to wear.
At around this point, one of the furs Isaac is trying to move out from in front of the door comes to life and pounces on him, getting the spirit's attention. She scolds him for bothering her pets (Four furs, named Poopsie, Flopsie, Muffet and Poppet. They act like living creatures, though they are nothing but hide, and they creep Isaac out massively, as the one who attacked him seems somehow to stare at him without a head or eyes, and with no eyes the stare is unblinking)
She spends several moments getting them dressed and setting up the stage for their fashion show. Isaac rolls ridiculously high, putting the cat into the walk of the catwalk (yes I made that pun in game, yes my players groaned). Braeburn succeeds easily because he gets advantage on the roll because she finds him hot, and B'bar succeeds after a failed first try.
The fashion show goes off well, the spirit of the seamstress is pleased that she could still find her muse, and her lingering issues dealt with, she fades away and the furs go inanimate and the party is allowed to move on. They do a little looking in the piles of clothing and each find 1000 gold in things they'd want, and then continue.
Through the next door they find...piles of gold and treasure???
And we end there for the night. x3
So I'm Running a 5th Edition Game
We were a player down this week, because he's in England, so Braeburn was dm-controlled tonight. xD
I was actually planning to run two shorter encounters tonight, but it ended up being one surprisingly long one. x3
As the party continued to climb the tower, they started to hear the sounds of old fashioned, out of tune music. Isaac darted up the stairs, charging for the door, to noone's surprise. What was a surprise was when he opened the door and tried to run in and...there was a flash of a ward and it was a ward against religion...so Isaac, and his lute blessed by his god, could not run into the room to chatter at whoever was playing. xD
The others passed alright and saw a room papered with sheet music, with instruments of all kinds hanging from the walls, and with a large, ancient Peryton flitting around and singing loudly and randomly and playing different instruments (B'bar stealthed, Quaff tried and failed to punch one of the lower hanging instruments with a nat 1).
Isaac, not willing to leave behind his items of religion, sat and attacked the ward with his dagger until he could damage the floor enough to destroy the ward. Then he ran in and tried to befriend the peryton king.
The peryton king demanded that they stay and listen to all his songs, which would only take a year or so. The group tried to tell him that they had to leave, but even with a high persuation, Isaac couldn't get him to let them pass.
The peryton king called down animated instruments from the walls that started to attack. Isaac was early in the initiative and did a performance check and managed to enrapture the peryton king with his music, while everyone else (mostly Quaff) dealt with the instruments. Quaff used shatter on several, then punched others to pieces. (Roll20 did not like B'bar's player today, they had many low low rolls. T-T)
Isaac kept rolling to play music to keep the peryton king enthralled which succeeded until almost all the instruments were destroyed. The king was furious, specifically at isaac, and leapt out to attack him. Hit him lots, but with low damage rolls. (I actually used a d4 to decide who the instruments and the peryton king would attack. Roll20 really hated Isaac, the peryton king hit him a LOT. xD)
Isaac hit the peryton king with a nightmare spell, that did a lot of damage since he kept failing his save. xD
The peryton king had a lot of health, and without braeburn it took a while to take it out, especially since he had a high ac, but eventually Isaac got the final blow, with a (for him) very vicious vicious mockery. x3
"Your music wasn't very good!"
And since that took longer than expected, we ended there for the night. ^-^
Some more work on Jolteon
22/151 done
So I'm Running a 5th edition game
The players were taking a short rest at the bottom of the citadel's tower. After finishing the short rest, they headed up into the tower, going through a narrow, steep set of stairs. When they tried to open the next door, it wouldn't open. A semi successful strength check opened it partially...and allowed part of the pile of garbage holding the door shut to spill inside the stairs. Isaac, grinning, went 'Want me to open the door?' and used the knock spell and the door slammed open and the garbage burst into the stairway. Everyone except Isaac succeeded on their checks, who rolled a nat 1 and got *buried* under garbage, only his ears and tail showing.
Braeburn stepped over and tugged Isaac out by his tail - between being buried and having his tail pulled, he cried.
When they went into the room, they found themselves in a room filled everywhere with garbage - it was essentially a garbage dumping spot, with pipes leading down from higher in the tower constantly dumping into the room.
There were ogres and goblins and an ettin who were.........having a food fight? It was a glorious food fight, and the group would have to participate in order to get past. Rolling deception checks (and B'bar stealth checks), they chucked filth everywhere as they made their way across the room. Isaac did so gleefully, since he was filthy already. Braeburn got the worse end of a trade with an ogre and ended up coated in trash also. (Partway through all this my party started calling me a sadist for my garbage descriptions. xD) Quaff did flyby attacks.
Before they made it to the other side, the group failed one of their group deception checks, and the ettin turned on them, suspicious and staring. Isaac rolled a really good performance check and sang a song about the accomplishments of Mouyld the Green that was so good it convinced the ettin that Isaac must have been there and participating and that te party must be a mercenary party. The ettin told Isaac he should go perform it for Mouyld, and let them pass and leave the food fight room.
At the bottom of the stairs there are brushes the party uses to take off the worst of the garbage before heading upstairs. When they open the door, there is a rush of steam. Isaac goes through first, with a flash of silver. When he tries to say something, he cannot - the ward is against speech. (He is horrified. xD)
When they make it into the room, it used to be a place of spiritual meditation, but has been turned into a bathing room. There are cauldrons all around, each heated to different temperatures, and an ogre and two goblins, all buck naked, getting washed. (Quaff was horrified. My players again called me a sadist for my descriptions. x3) They take around an hour to get cleaned up, then head up the next set of stairs.
So I'm Running a 5th Edition Game
When we left off, the group decided not to take a smiling man up on his offer of staying at his place to rest and instead headed into a gross mushroomy area that used to be a city part.
In the center of the park there was a fountain, the statue that used to be there eroded away and the basin filled with thick black muck.
Carefully the party made it way across the oddly springy ground (like a felt mat over a rotting pumpkin in feel). Quaff inspected the fountain, looking for bugs, and found some moving mushrooms?mushroomy bugs? His nature roll told him they were fine to eat, Braeburn's told him to go smack the bug out of Quaff's hand. Meanwhile Isaac's performance roll had him singing merrily, and B'bar's perception roll...noticed the dragon slowly unfolding itself out of the fountain, covered in a thick mat of brown fuzz and snarling nastily at Quaff.
It demanded they leave his territory - after some discussion and some near fighting, the party finds out that this is Mycelius the Fuzzy, one of the children of Moulyd the Green...but also her smallest, who has been relegated to this small park for his only territory. B'bar offers him a deal and, after some crafty thought, Mycelius agrees to help them past his siblings and to his mother, if they help him inherit her lands after she dies. After one very gross handshake, he makes them a map and gives them directions and a whistle that he can hear and sends them on their way.
Using his directions and his map, the party successfully traverses the city until they get to the base of the (considering how rundown and dirty everything else has been) surprisingly clean and white. (Quaff does an arcana check and finds out that is because of an astonishingly long lasting cleaning spell set into the wall.)
Braeburn picks a direction, and thanks to a random roll die going *terribly*, they end up traveling around almost the ENTIRETY of the tower before finding a door in. As they enter, there is a silver flash from what they find out is a ward against metal weapons. Right now its not a problem, since they're in essentially the coat check/secretary room of the tower, and it turns out to be a good chance to take a short rest and to end the session there for the night.
