— Remus doesn't only braid Sirius's hair before Quidditch matches. Before exams, he does it to keep Sirius's hair out of his face. Before bedtime, he does it to keep Sirius's hair from getting tangled. When Sirius is sad, Remus does it just because it's soothing to touch him.

— Remus has three types of braids: "quick and sloppy" (when they're running late), "normal" (for studying), and "dressed up" (when they're visiting James and Sirius wants to look "presentable"). Sirius knows the difference and always asks for "dress clothes" even if it's just to go to the store.

— Remus once braided Sirius's hair into a French braid. Sirius wore it for three days and wouldn't let Remus untangle it. James laughed and said he looked like a Viking. Sirius proudly replied, "Vikings were warriors!"

— When Remus braids Sirius's hair, Sirius sits still. It's the only time he can sit still for more than five minutes. Remus uses this to tell him stories, and Sirius just listens and smiles.
