I present to you a sanders sides hc that came to me at 3am and is reasonably angsty
In the middle of a heated argument between Logan and Roman, Deceit suddenly comes in. Everyone is confused as to why he was there, the argument was nowhere near his... topic. Thomas is about to tell him to leave, when to everybodys surprise, especially Deceits, Virgil asks him to stay. Dee hesitantly goes over to him and sits down on the stairs. All of them stared at Virgil. He sighed.
"I don't like him, but that does not mean that I don't accept and respect him for who he is. He is a part of you Thomas, he has an impact on you. And maybe, he does more than you give him credit for, just like me.
He's not always the bad guy."
Nobody saw, but a few tears made their way down Deceits face.
The argument continued. After half an hour, Logan finally lost his temper. "These are just old papers, you can't hoard things forever Patton!" Patton started crying, Virgil gave Logan a cold look and Roman started to shout. And in the very middle of it all, Thomas stood helpless, everything was too loud, if they would only shut up...
Suddenly, all the sounds stopped. Not just the sides, but even the clock at the wall stopped ticking. Thomas looked around confused. Everyone had their left hand clamped shut over their mouth. His gaze falls in Deceit.
Deceit sits on the stairs, his eyes shut tightly. He covers his ears with his hands. Tears stream down his face. Slowly, hesitantly, almost shy, he looks up and puts his hands down. "Thomas..." His voice is breaking. "You need to learn to loose the things you don't need anymore." Thomas is too shocked to answer. Deceit is crying??
"Never, never keep what makes you bad." it was a whisper, but Pattons eyes grow very wide, he can't move tho, so he just stares. Slowly, Deceit sinks down, his tears still streaming down his face. Thomas doesn't register when the other sides start arguing again.
Thomas lays down to sleep that night, patiently waiting but for Remy to finally come in. The door opens, but it's not Remy who steps inside. It's not Virgil either. Thomas sits up straight in his bed. Deceit shuts the door. "I won't be long." He says. "I just wanted to say goodbye." Thomas blinks. "Goodbye? Where are you going?" Deceit hisses at him, not like Virgil hissed at Logan, Deceit sounds more like he's talking parcel.
"That's not important. Tell Virgil that he's the best son I ever had." Tears start streaming down his face again. His body is shaking as he walks through the door.
The next morning, at 6am, Thomas is standing in front of Joanns house. He is ringing without break like a maniac. Joann comes running down, afraid something bad had happened to the old married couple next door. He opens the door and immediately has a man in his arms. He has to take a few seconds to realise who it is. Thomas is crying. Joann, now very confused and extremely concerned hugs Thomas close and tries to calm him down.
A few minutes later, the two sit next to each other on Joanns couch. Thomas has a big cup of tee in front of him. "So, tell me, what's wrong?" Joann asks. Thomas looks at him. "Everything." He says. "Humans are so cruel. Have you seen the news? It's horrible what they did." Joann tries hard to think. "What do you mean?" Thomas looks at him wide-eyed. "War, Joann. War everywhere. All over the world. All those psychopaths in the schools, shooting children. How many have died yesterday?" Joann doesn't really know what to say. "Thomas, it's been like that for years, humans are like that, you can't change them." Thomas breaks out in tears again. "I know."
Thomas has to stay at Joanns that day, too afraid to go outside again. The next day, Joann talks to Thomas to try and find out what has happened. Because something.... Something inside Thomas had changed, Joann knows that.
At noon, Thomas sits alone on the mattress Joann had set up for him yesterday. Joann themself has gone out for groceries. Suddenly, Virgil appears next to him. "Thomas, we have a problem." Thomas sighs, defeated. "Yes, I know." Patton pops up. "You know?!" He asks. Roman and Logan come up too. Everyone looks at Thomas, terrified. "Everything is pointless." Thomas says, his eyes brimming with tears again. "So many people die every day. And what can I do? Nothing! I can't even write anymore. I've tried." He points at a few scrunched up papers.
Remus appears next to Roman, a look of horror on his face. "The door broke. Deceit was the only one who could handle him!" Thomas looks up at that. But not at Remus, no. He looks at Virgil. "Virgil, Deceit told me to tell you that you were the best son he ever had." Thomas says. Virgil starts crying, Patton too.
Suddenly, a bright orange light floods the room. Thomas has to cover his eyes to not turn out blind. "What is this?!" He screams, pure panic raising inside of him.
"Hello Thomas" A voice speaks with a heavy British accent, it comes from everywhere.
"Who are you?!" He screams.
"I'm you depression. I've been waiting to come out."
