Annis gave a small chuckle. “I suppose it is.” She noticed how interested he got at the mention of her country’s festivals."Of course they aren't too different from Narnia's; in truth we have the same holidays but they aren't so... enthusiastically celebrated." Annis smiles sweetly. "Anvard's population isn't as great as Cair Paravel's either. We usually have a great feast because father loves hunting so much. Floats, however, are sadly not involved."

“I would never intentionally get my siblings into real trouble. That wouldn’t be very sisterly of me, would it? Even when we were all younger I would have rather gotten into trouble myself then see my siblings get into trouble.”

“I can’t say I’m too surprised to hear that you’ve been busy. Does a High King ever take time off? Oh it’s been wonderful. Of course we have our own festivities back home, but at home it tends to be more of a closed affair.”

“It is a pleasure to be actually meeting you,” he says, his mouth widening in a soft smile. She’s even more beautiful up close, he thought to himself. His thoughts confused him, as he had never had any romantic feelings for anyone in his entire life. He hoped that she couldn’t tell that he was so flustered, because he definitely felt awkward.

At her question, Ash showed her the cover the cover of his book. “Just something about Narnian history. It sounds boring, but it is actually quite interesting.” He glanced at the book slightly hidden behind the princess. “What are you reading, Princes Annis?”

“The pleasure is all mine.” Saying that was a natural instinct to Annis. From a young age she had been trained in the correct way to speak and converse with people.  Of course she said that to everyone, but she if she was honest she was finding this whole conversation enjoyable. Her cheeks flushed pink again when he asked about the book. How could she cover up what she had been reading? 

“Oh this? I wasn’t really reading it. I was --” A short pause. She wracks her brain trying to think of an excuse. “I was just returning it for my sister.” A little white lie that Isla would never find out about would do no harm. Now to quickly change the subject. “I don’t think Narnian history sounds boring. I find it all very interesting. I’ll have to borrow that book myself some time.”
