I really love that Roque is queer AND the best athlete on the show. I love that he's huge, physically the biggest, and a beast. That he's the captain, that he is athletic. That he doesn't want his whole life to be about him being a gay rugby player, but he also speaks up about the very real prejudices in the sport when asked. I feel like I haven't seen a gay character quite like him.

i really want to know more about his past. my theory would be that sebas has had similar experiences as roque considering being a gay rugby player in a field influenced by homophobia. i think he might has been in roque's position, so the confident one that likes to publicy show the relationship. however, he didn’t make good experiences with that, so know when he has a chance to start again, he wants to do things differently. he in general shares the problems that roque faces, at least he used to before he came to the hpc. when he mentioned that all this is new to him it sounds like he never met someone who feels the same as him. he never met someone else who's out and proud about who he is. therefore, him not actually having to hide is new to him. i could be totally wrong about how i interpret these scenes. i would be interested in what other's think

My current headcanon is that sebas was sneaking around, exploring his sexuality, and somehow got caught and outed. His school life became hell and the HPC presented a way to restart his life, to hide the parts of him that lead to so much pain. He immediately attached to Charlie, despite all the blatant homophobia and dickhead behaviors, to protect himself. He reinvented himself as the tough player/bully type to survive.

He never expected someone like Roque to show up being loud and proud and turn his entire world on its head.

What’s new to him is being in a proper relationship, being with someone who doesn’t expect him to hide nor himself feeling like he has to hide this part of himself, but the attention still scares him. He wants to be out in due time but he needs time.
