Lil' boy and I have this sweet Friday routine that instantly melts away any stressors from the week. He comes home and I lead him to the bedroom. He'll take his pants off (he leaves his undies on bcos it's mommy's job to take those off :)) and I'll go and get a nice thick diaper and a onesie. He'll lay on the bed and wait patiently, with his hands sitting politely on his chest just like they are in the photo above.
Since he's always such a good boy, I'll get his undies off and usually playtime comes after but I just get him worked up :) "Mommy's missed your lil' thingy!" I'll say, "I'm just saying hi and then we'll get you in your diapy n' jammies." Usually he'll whine but he always follows it with an "okay mommy".
Sometimes if he's had a rough week I'll give him some special medicine - it helps make him feel calm n' fuzzy n' extra clingy....which is my most favorite part!
We'll order sushi n' snuggle up on the couch where we'll stay until bedtime.
It allows us to put ourselves in this sweet lil' bubble that's just ours. It's safe and it's strong and it's intentional. Routines are important for babies, obv duh, but they're just as important for mommies (and daddies/cgs/etc) too!
