My therapist told me that the reason I’m severely depressed is because so many people have been so shitty to me and it’s all taken a toll on me. She asked me “who asks about your day? who tells you they appreciate you? who compliments you?” And i started crying. She said “all you’re used to is just people being mean and not there for you and letting you down or trying to use you and it’s a lot for one person to handle. you deserve people who are nice to you and who care about you and your well being” She suggested I cut off every second single person that’s been shitty to me, block them all in my phone, take a break from social media, and just be alone for a while. I said the loneliness would kill me, but she said loneliness is better than feeling this low because of shitty people.

This whole talk had me emotional. Cause it was all so true. My self esteem is so gone, because I’ve let people just walk all over me and use me and treat me so bad. I give people too many chances. If someone shows you one time that they’re an asshole, you cut them off immediately. You don’t need to take anyone’s shit. And please don’t keep anyone around who belittles you or talks shit about your mental illness. Do you know how many times I’ve been told to “go fix my issues” ? Yeah fuck those people, you don’t need them anywhere near you.

A Rant

How the fuck did Isaiah Silva win the battle for Kurt’s guitar over his own damn daughter? That is actual bullshit. You can’t fucking steal her late father’s ICONIC guitar he used in one of his most well-known performances. That is so fucking cruel. Frances and Courtney OWNED that guitar, therefore a piece of garbage who used to be associated with Frances should NOT have stolen it from her in the first place. I just can’t believe they took his side.

Not to mention this is an act of solidarity. He’s saying “even if the entire world is against you, I’m on your side.” Which I think is important for a kid to know. He’s refusing to be a bully to his child, even if he doesn’t understand.

I work at Hot Topic and we had a white suburban dad in who was buying matching heavy metal/screamo band shirts for him and his teenage daughter and said “To be honest, I think this stuff sounds like garbage, but she likes it so we listen to it together and we’re going to the concert for Christmas.” And it was just really heartwarming to see him so involved in his child’s life and validating her interests.
