💙 REGRESSOR! TIM & CG! BRUCE
( helping Tim w/ a deeper regression )
• Tim regresses for a list of reasons, but one of them is for him to relax and rely on someone else for a change. He’s always really independent, its a time where he doesn’t have to worry about that! Just letting someone else take care of his needs. Safe to say, he always makes sure either his Dad, Alfred, his older siblings, or Steph is around - Baby Timmy needs help taking care of himself.
• Despite this, he still has a schedule when he wants to regress. This schedule usually doesn’t work all the time, but he likes the idea he has somewhat control, so he can make sure his family is near when he does. Though he can handle when he regresses unexpectedly - new babyspace experiences or deeper regression is not something he handles well. It’s unfamiliar, therefore he freaks out.
• He felt guilty the first time it happened. The one day stress became way too much for him, his brain did the first thing to help him cope. He didn’t want to depend on Bruce when he was busy, nor did he want to regress when Tim himself had work to do. He wasn’t prepared for it.. usually he could handle it, but it was brand new feelings this time. Feeling more tiny and more tunnel-visioned then normal stressed him out at first. But he could feel guilty later - tears were inevitable, there was only one thing he wanted. He just wanted his Dad.
• It’s not like Bruce minded when he found Tim in such a state. He would drop everything for his son on any normal day - you bet he was right there during a regressed one. Bruce has helped him with vent regression days before, he knows what might help.
• He scooped Timmy up into his arms, and of course he latched onto his Dad like glue. He brought him to his bedroom and informed Alfred that only he was allowed to interrupt. He wanted a quiet place where Tim wouldn’t get more overwhelmed, his siblings could check on him later. He got everything a baby would need- paci, favorite plush, snacks, padding, and comfy clothes. Everything that brought him comfort.
• Bruce was as gentle as possible as he helped Timmy change, yet he wanted to be quick so he could address his quiet sobbing. Although he almost treated Tim like glass this time around because of his concern.
• Bruce’s full attention is on his son now, as he tells him comforting things. “Are you alright, baby?” His voice was even more softer then normal, trying to be as inviting & loving as he could.
• The question would only set off tears, which Bruce quickly responded to. He’d try to softly plop his paci in Tim’s mouth, but it would fall out because of his crying. Not even his paci - his biggest comfort item - can calm him.
• Tim is pretty nonverbal already with only being able to say a selective few words - but because of how tiny he felt, he couldn’t use those few words he knew. He couldn’t even say his dad’s name. It just frustrated him even more when he can’t communicate what he’s feeling... so, he just cries
• Understandably, concern would grow in Bruce. Tim would never reject such a thing on any normal day. But it just let him picked him up on what was happening. Tim didn’t need to communicate, his father was a detective after all - he figured out this wasn’t a good day, he’ll do everything in this power to comfort his baby boy.
• He lifted Timmy into his arms, holding him to his chest (making sure to hold onto his paci and bat plushie just in case he needs them!) and walked around, rocking him and reassuring him. He repeated things like: “I won’t let you go… don’t worry. Daddy’s not going anywhere.” while shushing him lovely.
• Tim didn’t really know what he wanted right now, he usually had some idea, which also upset him. Yet as soon as he felt his father’s warm embrace, nothing else mattered to him.
• Once he calmed down some, Bruce offered his comfort items again - although he only took his bat plushie, fidgeting with it in his hands.
• As soon as his crying died down into soft sniffles, Alfred let himself in to offer a warm bottle. Thanking Alfred, Bruce took the bottle and sat down on the bed. He didn’t ask Tim, he was worried asking a question would overwhelm him - so instead, he held it out to him. A way to ask if he wanted it without words. He accepted the bottle, Bruce holding onto it for him as he drank.
• Because all his crying had tired him out, and warm milk soothed him, his eyelids started to fall. Once Bruce noticed this, he helped Timmy’s paci into his mouth - and he didn’t reject it this time! He smiled once he had his paci, curling up against his dad’s chest with his bat plushie in hands, eventually drifting to sleep.
• Bruce wouldn’t let him go or set him down on the bed. He just held him close - maybe cause Bruce was nervous to let him go, maybe he just loved holding him while he slept soundly.. but did it really matter? Tim was content now, asleep with a smile on his face.
