hi. this is an odd question, and i'm choosing your blog at random to ask it. why do you think people believe incest is wrong? is it wrong?

The immorality with incest comes mostly with the possibility of genetic problems in the case of reproduction and power imbalances. I think there is no solid yes or no I could answer to "Is it wrong?". It can be wrong like doing drugs is wrong. It's socially taboo and almost definitely bad for your wellbeing. But, ultimately, if you are a consenting informed adult, it's your own decision what to do with your life.

I can only solidly say it's wrong if you practice real blood incest, then choose to reproduce. Realcest non-blood reproduction (like step or in-laws) is essentially just as bad in my opinion because the child will likely still face the same/similar social issues, internal moral issues, regardless of genetic problems you'd have with blood children.

I personally don't see any real immorality with fauxest and cest in fic. It's fantasy, not real. But I get the whole "Fiction impacts reality". I can see why people are even more uncomfortable with real incest, but as long as both parties are consenting adults and don't reproduce I think they also deserve just as much a right as anyone to their choices
