Reckless Bravery {Michael & Ashlee}
one-lucky-lad:
Michael had always been really good with parents. Usually, whenever he picked a girl up for a date he would have her parents laughing with him before the girl even emerged from her room. Simba was a little tougher than that, but he was a very nice man. Michael liked him a lot and he was pretty sure Simba liked him too–at least a little bit–and that also helped when it came to the interrogation portion.
When Ashley asked about it, Michael laughed and nodded. “Oh yes,” he said. They were walking past a row of trees, the leaves rustling in the breeze, and it would be a lie to say he wasn’t glad to have this moment. “I really like Simba, and he obviously cares about you very much. And this walk is very pretty.” Michael looked up at the rustling leaves and. “I like the way the wind sounds through the trees. I also like that Swynlake is quiet enough that you can hear it.”
Back in London, the sound of traffic usually drowned out everything else. He was happy to be in a small town.
Michael spotted Hatter’s when they turned a corner and he walked ahead a bit so he could hold the door for his date. “After you,” he said, gesturing with a little half-bow, and he followed her inside. “So are we just doing coffee, or do you want to splurge a little and get some pastries too? The ones they have here are so good. I think I’ve tried almost all of them.”
Ashlee had to admit she liked the fact that Michael wasn’t questioning it too hard on why she lived with Simba and Berlioz. There was an easy assumption and maybe that’s the decision he made but she wasn’t sure and she didn’t want to ask.
At the very least Michael liked them, and Ashlee wasn’t too sure on what Simba and Berlioz’s opinions were. Not yet.
“We can splurge. They have a really good Raspberry Scone.” Ashlee suggested. “You came from London right? Obviously the quietness is one thing but is there anything else very different?”
