“I am happy to be back, I missed our story times while I was gone.”
“So did I! What are the stories about that you found?”
@littleleagueboy
“I am glad you like them,” he pat his head gently, “Maybe we can pick a story to read once I have finished getting resettled, non?”
“Okay!” He beamed, “I’d like that very much. I’m happy you’re home.”
@littleleagueboy “I found quite a few treasures on my journey. I hope you will like them.”
“I love them.”
“Happy Father’s Day!”
“Me and Papa have been redecorating our home a lot lately, he’s been letting me help out and it looks really awesome! I’ve been asking if I can have friends over but just keeps saying ‘maybe later.’“
“But Papa’s friends have been over so it’s not too lonely, and it’s safe for me to go outside now. We’ve been having lots of fun together-- I’m really happy.”
"Hugo?"
"Hi Miss Scribe!"
Little update
((Hugo is back in his original file, which means he's staying with platinumpurifier . This however doesn't mean this account will be shutting down. Hugo will remain here on this blog, and still be open for interactions with people.))
[Officially on babysitting duty until further notice.]
"…yes, it’s safe. Let’s get going." He kneels to gather the boy up in his arms. "Once I know where she’s staying, I’ll take all your toys and things there. Alright?"
Surely she’d permit that… A quick trip to the cube takes them outside into the zones, where she’d entered. It’s still chilly, a brisk wind blowing in from the plastic sea, so he wraps the boy up in his hooded sweatshirt and holds him close. Now all he had to do was wait for her to get here. He breathes in deeply, slowly, lightly rubbing his knuckles along his young alternate’s back without much thought. He couldn’t afford thought right now.
It was not long until the player in question came in sight, and conversely, it was not long until she could see a figure in red on the horizon. When she could identify the bundle in his arms she smiled, the corner of her mouth twitching as a variety of thoughts flowed through her head.
She would not find the child there? Hmph. She had been right to doubt.
But she had no interest in dragging this out and making it more of a hassle it needed to be. The Prince had been a fool, but he had enough sense to realize when to give up.
"So this is where you were," The Puppeteer breathed a sigh of relief once she was close enough, ignoring the elder to address the young boy in his arms. "You have been terribly missed. Come, let us take you home. Your father will be relieved to know you are safe."
She stepped forward without a second thought, opening her arms so the Prince may pass the child to her.
The boy remained quiet as he waited with the older Prince, snuggling close into the fabric of his sweater when he felt how old it was outside. It had been a while since he was allowed to go out, and now he knew why.
He hoped to be able to get his toys, especially Bunny. But the thought of getting to see his Papa again and head home was the thought that occupied his mind the most currently.
When Hugo heard the voice of the Puppeteer, he turned his hea, smiling. "Hello!" He remembered her! She was one of Papa's friends, he really was finally able to go home. "Okay!"
The time to tie up loose ends had finally come.
The switch had been flipped, and the Puppeteer had not forgotten her declaration. She was a woman of her word, at least when circumstance did not interfere with her purpose. Hopefully the dear Prince had spared a moment to ruminate on this in the time he had been given to heal.
Her cloak fluttered behind her as she made way into the file, seeking the Prince out.
He knows the moment she enters his file. She would’ve come sooner or later, and though he’d like to have sought her out himself, her nomadic ways would’ve made her hard to track down, if not impossible. And he could still be there waiting for her. There would still be that modicum of freedom.
Hugo goes to his young alternate’s bedroom, easing the door open. The boy might be napping. It might be easier if he was. “Hey… it’s time to go back to your dad. The puppeteer’s come to get you.”
The child had been in his room, various toys scattered along the floor and stuff animals stacked up on his bed. Hugo himself, however, was on the floor, scribbling away on a piece of paper.
He looked up with the older opened the door, the child soon standing up and his eyes going wide, "Really? It's safe now?"
"Merry Christmas..." He piles a handful of presents onto the boy's bed, containing the plush toys and books he'd gotten (the appropriate ones this time, none that had any death or dismemberment in them). "Guess what?"
The boy’s eyes lit up when he saw all the presents the other brought him. “Merry Christmas!” His attention turned to all of the presents, but he still asked, “What? Did Santa come?”
It had taken her a lot longer than she would have liked to remember this particular Hugo, but once she did she realized it was important to see him and today made for a good excuse for that.
"Good! I’m glad it fits you," She gathered him up in her arms and sat back, slightly relieved that Batter hadn’t caught up to Hugo yet. "Did you? That’s so sweet, thank you! I can’t wait to see it when it’s ready. Have you been feeling okay? Been playing with anybody lately? I’m sorry I was gone so long."
He sat in her lap comfortably, leaning against her. "You're welcome! I'll work on it right away, and send it to you soon." He beamed. Hugo would have to draw a new picture of Scribe since she looked different now. She was still really pretty. "I've been okay, but I miss Papa and Mama... I've been spending time with an older me. He's been taking care of me until I can go home. And it's okay! How have you been feeling?"
Scribe reasoned Little Hugo was too small for a proper scarf and it was risky to put anything that small around a baby’s neck, so instead he got a little jacket. The sleeves wound up being too long, but that was okay. She sat him down and showed him how the slip-button worked.
"Merry Christmas Hugo. Is it comfy?"
He hadn't been expecting a visit! It had been such a long time since he had seen Scribe! She looked different from how he remembered her, but that was okay. He could recognize her voice. Even just seeing her was a nice enough gift.
"Oh, wow!" Hugo waved his arms, playing with the sleeves. "Thank you very much, miss Scribe! It's super comfy! I look really cool!" It was a nice design, and his favorite color too. How did she know? "Merry Christmas! I made you a present too, but I need to make a new one of it."
"Merry Christmas! I'll draw you a picture if you're allowed to come over.. I'm not allowed to leave on my own."
"I'm really excited for Christmas! But!"
"All I really want is to spend it with Papa and Mama. I'd be okay with just that."
littleleagueboy replied to your post:Tugs on his pant leg.
He held a couple sheets of paper in his hands, holding one up to the other. “I drew you!”
"Ah… Great job, it looks just like me." He grins broadly at the picture. "You wanna put it on the fridge?"
"Thank you!" He smiled, proud of his masterpiece. "Okay!"
