Strengthening Bonds | Cora & Peter
alphaofsass:
Peter reached out to pull his niece close, kissing her head softly. âI swear on everything. You will still have us when this is through and once we win, weâll figure out what to do from there.â He wanted to take his family, his mate and just leave. To stop fighting and have a chance at a life. âFor now, I donât expect you to jump back into family life. But I do ask that you at least stay with your brother or I, okay?â
She held on, wrapping her arms tight around her uncle. âI just donât want to lose anyone anymore.â Cora leaned back a bit to get a better look. âFine, I guess I better stay with Derek and make sure he doesnât keep being stupid. Thatâs what a little sister is supposed to do, huh?â
possessionspuppet:
Stiles gave a grin. âI think that soufds great. But I vote out Mexico.â he chuckled.
âI just want to go surfing again. I havenât done it in so long.â
Strengthening Bonds | Cora & Peter
alphaofsass:
Peter watched the teenager, blue eyes filled with so many emotions. He looked down. âNo, Cora, it was my fault. I made a promise to you, after your father died. You were curled in my bed, holding your bear and youâd cried yourself to sleep while I sang to you. I promised that I would never let you be hurt like that. And I failed. I broke that promise and I can never fix that.â His voice was rough, and his eyes were glossier than his usual clear gaze. He leaned to kiss her forehead, eyes closing. âCora, I canât fix any of my mistakes. I canât bring Laura back, I canât fix that you were alone all those years. But we can build a future as a family. You, Derek and I. We even have Stiles among our ranks, and heâs not even a wolf. We can be a family again. And I swear to you, Coraline Alicia Hale, that you will never, ever be alone again. I will not let anyone take us away from you.â his voice cracked just faintly, eyes watching her. âYou donât have to do anything alone ever again, Little Wolf. Youâre home and Derek, Stiles and I will protect you, take care of you. As a pack should.â he promised.Â
She watched him, found herself looking away not wanting to see how much he was still hurting. No matter how horrible it all was, being alone, being captured, hurt, feeling broken, she didnât blame any of them, not truly. Not Derek for bringing Kate into their life... he was a teenager who was manipulated, not Uncle Peter who was scarred and forced into psychosis. They all hurt. They all suffered. Blaming each other would solve nothing. But still, it felt horrible to open herself to more hurt. âYou have to promise. You have to promise that youâll be okay. You and Derek. I donât want to lose you. I canât. You get that, right? That I canât lose you. I donât know how to go on if I do.âÂ

âTell me again why weâre always stuck in this absolutely shitty situations. After this, I vote for spring break. Beaches and drinks and nice things for all.âÂ

Liam was a little disappointed she avoided the punch and noticed the kick headed for him and he let it nearly connect before moving his leg back and quickly trapping her leg with his before throwing a punch at her; figuring it would either land or sheâd trip him up but it was worth a shot. She was fast and well trained, it wouldnât be easy.Â
She felt the punch brush against her as she did her best to bring both of them down to the ground and attempt to wiggle free. Correction, Liam had very good instincts. Itâd been a while since she felt a good challenge when sparring.

Stikes reached to lay a hand on her shoulder. Theyâd gradually gotten to where he could touch her without her tensing, which was progress to Stiles. Cora had lost so much already. âI know I donâtâŠunderstand. Not like I should. But I would rather you be mad at them for a little while versus the nightmares that would come.â He didnât know if Derek or Pefer had them, heâd never asked. But he did. He saw the faces of the victims he had killed while controlled. He saw Donovanâs face, had dreams of all of them coming back to get their just desserts. He dreams of the fox destroying everything in revenge of losing to Stokes and the others. âI know Iâm still new to this all, but I do care about you, Cora. Youâre a great person, even though you try to shut me out like Derek does.â He teased. âSo, think of this as making the next move while they start the end of the group of psychos trying to kill us.â
âI have enough nightmares as is. I donât want to lose them. I rather lose something of myself than lose them.â It was more than anger, it was fear. They were going against the woman who more or less single-handedly caused their family misery and she rather be a part of it, do something than sit n the sidelines if something were to go wrong. The wolf arched her brow at the presumptuous teen beside her. âI think youâre delusional but fine. Letâs figure out how to kick some ass.âÂ
possessionspuppet:
Stiles gave the shewolf a grin. âIâm pack now, too. Weâre in this together and you need someone arpund here who isnât serious all the time.â He countered, shrugging. âI always have been. Even as a kid.â He answered. Her words made him look up at her. âThey donât want you to have to see the color of your eyes change like they did.â He explained. âAnd I can speak from my own experience that I would never want you to have that weight. Regardless of what she didâŠkilling Kate would still change you. Trust me.â
âYou think I care if it changed me or not? You know what changed me? Losing my alpha, my mother, trapped in the debris and feeling the fire and heat seeping up and feeling my family die one by one, hearing them die...â Cora pinched the bridge of her nose. âI just... I canât just stay here. I know weâre helping or whatever but it doesnât feel like it.âÂ
alphachimera:
âYeah, Derek told me and I do; agree with his reasoning. Kateâs dangerous, and sheâs taken enough of your familyâŠ.â he said, looking at Theo. âBut I doubt I need to say theyâre trying to protect you.âÂ
âI know but itâs so damn annoying. Iâm not that much younger than Derek and itâs not like I donât have my own score to settle with that psycho. Just cause I get it, doesnât mean I agree.â
possessionspuppet:
Stiles looked up and smiled at her, shrugging. âHey, I donât want to be on the receiving end of territorial wolf claws.â he joked, moving to scoot closer to her. âNah, you are perfectly welcome to help. Having someone with me keeps me from getting side tracked.â he paused for a minute, turning to the female wolf. âWhich does happen, believe it or not.â he countered before she could comment, pulling some of said red string from his bag. âI want to try and map these bad guys somehow, see what we can use against them.â
âBut disturbing the peace and quiet wonât warrant receiving territorial claws.... sure.â Cora rolled her eyes. âYou do have the worst attention span.â She reached over him to grab a pen. âYeah I can help... itâs not like Iâm stupid and havenât figured out that my brother and uncle want me out of the way. Fine letâs figure out their plan.âÂ
Strengthening Bonds | Cora & Peter
alphaofsass:
Peter gave her a look, reaching to pet her hair. His Little Wolf, the one member of his family who had loved him and shown kindness where most merely tolerated him with disgusted glances. The niece he had sworn he would die for before letting her be hurt, the one left alone because heâd been too weak to escape when heâd gotten her out. âI should have been strong enough to protect you.â he thought to himself, sighing and giving her a smile. âYou, Cora, are not a stray, not to me.â he countered. âNever, ever are you a stray to me.â he told her, moving towards the kitchen island. âYour brother has decided to rejoin Hale ranks.â he said. âIt wasnât an easy decision, but heâs a beta to the Hale pack once again. And I will protect him as I try to protect you and all the others that I can.â The number was becoming more and more vast, it felt, with the strength of enemies emerging.
She sighed softly, leaning into her uncleâs touch. âIt wasnât your fault, you know.â It was in the way he looked at her. The shame and regret... But being alone only made her stronger, taught her that in this world you needed to defend yourself and be strong. That was the only way to survive. Cora shrugged, though a smile emerged at the news. âReally? Thatâs... great. Thatâs really, really great.âÂ
thebetaliam:
âFair, weâll probably have more; probably be others at some point.â he said; barely noticing her charge toward him but he quickly dodged her attack; barely. Liam looked at her possible next move and tried to throw a punch toward where he thought she would move next. Â
She turned, narrowly avoiding the punch. He was fast sheâd give him that and had a decent sense of how a fight would go which worked to his advantage. Cora aimed a kick, trying to knock him off balance.
alphachimera:
âIâm with you there. Her and her little friends have messed with my beta; and my brother. Iâm not too cool with that.â he said after a moment. âLeast you guys will be the one to take her out.âÂ
âIf my uncle and brother donât try to force me out of it that is... they donât want me near her.â
alphachimera:
âAgreed, seems like that you guys will be pretty busy really; with Kate and all.â he said, looking at Cora.Â
âI donât mind the busy as long as the bitch is dealt with.âÂ
thebetaliam:
âSorta, though I am probably going to be the youngest for a bit longer as I think Iâm one of the youngest people in Beacon that know about the supernatural.â he said before nodding a little. âThat, is how fighting works yeah.â he grinned a bit, flashing his blue eyes at her.Â
âProbably. But you never know. Just a few years ago and I was the youngest. And with whateverâs been happening around here, it just feels like the supernaturals are gathering here.â But they had more immediate priorities, the one at hand was putting the pup in his place. Golden orbs flashed in response as she charged towards him. She dodged left, using her momentum to kick off the pillar and attempt to bring Liam down.Â
alphachimera:
âLooks, like weâre nearing the end of all of thisâŠâÂ
âSeems like it. Itâs about time to.â
Strengthening Bonds | Cora & Peter
alphaofsass:
Peter looked up from where he was cooking, moving to wash his hands. He grabbed a towel on the way to the door, chuckling as he moved to open it. âYou donât have to knock, Little Wolf.â he assured. âYouâre pack, this loft has a room for you and everything.â He replied. And he wasnât lying, heâd remodeled to have about nine rooms total, plus the library heâd put in when heâd moved from the original apartment downstairs to the penthouse loft. âI have some great news for you?â
âItâs polite and all. Manners, all that stuff,â she waved off his dismissal, leaving her shoes by the door. âIâm more a stray anyways but I appreciate the room.â She didnât exactly stay in one place even when living in Beacon Hills. Maybe it was habit now, moving about to stay safe but it wasnât something she stopped. âOh? Whatâs the great news thatâs got you so excited?â
