Stiles gave him a smile that he knew wasn’t as convincing as he needed to be. “I’m just…I’m worried. I know what that fox can do and I have no idea what he’s planning. He isn’t the type to be controlled. If he’s playing nice…I’m scared what it could mean.” 

“Stiles, you all stopped him before. At, whatever cost it was but you still stopped him. You can’t sit there and worry about tomorrow because if you worry about everything than that’s not living. And then he wins.” he said, looking at Stiles. “We know the risks, and we know what might happen. So be here, with me today.”

“Chocolate chip cookie dough is fairly good.” Lydia replied, sending him a soft smile. “I completely disagree about the gummy bears though. They  just get all hard and frozen.”

“That’s the best part.” he grinned about the gummy bears, laughing a little. “Perfect ice-cream.” he nodded. “Alright, if you veto gummy bears; then what kind of toppings do you like?” he asked as he looked at the menu.

She turned, narrowly avoiding the punch. He was fast she’d give him that and had a decent sense of how a fight would go which worked to his advantage. Cora aimed a kick, trying to knock him off balance.

Liam was a little disappointed she avoided the punch and noticed the kick headed for him and he let it nearly connect before moving his leg back and quickly trapping her leg with his before throwing a punch at her; figuring it would either land or she’d trip him up but it was worth a shot. She was fast and well trained, it wouldn’t be easy.

“I can’t believe this all started with Stiles taking me to go find a body.” He joked. “Mexico was an adventure. I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He teased. “Hey, in my defense, as my Beta, it’s in the job description to be around me at all times.” Scott laughed. “Yes, Beta bilities. It’s cool! Hip, even!” He exclaimed. “You can’t veto that!”

Liam laughed a little. “Yeah, well. Hopefully that’s not how it ends.” he said, looking at him. “As for Mexico, I’d have enjoyed it a lot more if we didn’t nearly die.” he pointed out. before laughing a little. “Fair, fair; depending on what college you go to maybe I can tag along.” he chuckled. Liam paused. “The fact that you just used the word hip to describe it; vetoes it instantly.” he smirked.

“Well, in Stilinski’s defense, he deals with both types of crime too,” Jordan told Liam. “If I had a dollar for every problem he had, I would have enough money for a raise.” He was a stressed man, but so was everyone else. He turned back to the board, studying it.

“Yeah, but he could give himself a raise if he really wanted too.” he said, looking at Jordan. “You both could get raises. And, then I could get an allowance; maybe.” he said with a half smile, clearly teasing as he looked at the board. “Can’t wait for this all to be over.” he muttered, leaning back; shaking his head at the picture of Kate.

Stiles hummed, though the noise seemed distracted. “Sorry, everything just seems…strange. I don’t know how to explain it.” he answered. He tilted his head back at the kiss, giving a quiet smile. “I am relaxed.” he lied, trying to give a convincing smile. 

“Liar.” he said, looking at him. “I don’t even need to hear your heartbeat to know you’re the furthest thing from relaxed.” he said, watching him for a moment. Liam leaned down and kissed his cheek. “Come on; tell me; what will relax you?” he asked after a moment.

“Thankfully I am the most stubborn of them all.” Lydia replied, letting out a soft chuckle. “If everyone works together we can win, I am sure.” She added, sending the man a small smile. “I’ve always been a bit of a chocolate girl myself. How about you?”

“We can win” he said with a small smile before shrugging. “Chocolate chip cookie dough; I like the bits of cookie dough in it; oh; and gummy bears; you can’t have a good ice-cream without gummy hears.” he laughed a little.

Stiles laughed softly. “I just want to cuddle, honestly.” he murmured, not trusting how strange his magic seemed to be effected. He was pretty sure it was just psychosomatic, but he’d rather play it safe than risk hurting anyone he cared about. “Besides, this house is probably one of the safest places in Beacon these days.”

“Well, we’re doing that now.” he chuckled; patting his chest. “So cuddle with me, stop over thinking it.” he said, kissing his neck softly before running his hand down Stiles’s chest. “Probably one of them.” he chuckled as he looked at him. “We’re safe, so relax.”

Jordan laughed with Liam. Jordan smiled, a warm feeling inside from being complemented. “Thanks, Liam. I’m glad you feel I’m doing good. If only Stilinski had the same idea and gave me a raise,” he added, nudging Liam playfully. “Well, it’s complicated. There are regular cops, and I’m a sheriff’s deputy. I’m higher ranked, so I get paid more.”

“Wait wait, you are like five cops in one; you can catch on fire, you can’t die, and you deal with the normal crime and the supernatural crime. Yet, you still don’t get a raise?” he asked, tilting his head “You, should definitely ask for a raise. Like, at least two dollars more an hour.” he nodded. “Though to be fair I don’t know how much you make an hour already.”

“I’ll make sure that he’s alright. Ethan can be stubborn, but he always listens to me.” Lydia replied, sending Liam a reassuring smile. “I think one thing that I took from my whole Dark Lydia situation was that sometimes you have to break a couple of eggs to bake the cake. So really, we need to work together and hopefully make something beautiful.”

“Ethan? Stubborn; no; nooo way.” he said with a teasing smile. Liam looked at Lydia and nodded a little. “Well, I suck at baking; but I do agree that we can probably make something better out of all this.” he nodded a little as he headed into the ice-cream shop. “Favorite ice-cream flavor?”

Scott snorted and shook his head. “Course. Free food is always an incentive.” He teased. “Wow, that feels like a whole lifetime ago. We’ve come a long way.” He mumbled, shaking his head to clear his thoughts. “Yeah, Mexico, I don’t remember any other time after that either.” He added. “So what about your Beta ‘bilities then?” He joked, cringing at the lame attempt. 

“Yeah, well so have you.” he said with a small smile as he lightly shoved him. “To be fair, Mexico was crazy; not in the spring break party time. I always figured that’s why I’d go, not to save my werewolf alpha from a psycho and Peter Hale.” he said with a half smile before laughing. “Beta, bilities? Really?” he asked, teasing Scott as he rolled hsi eyes; shaking his head. “Okay, that was bad, I veto that. And, what about them?”

Jordan shook his head. “I’m not gonna be a firefighter forever,” he told Liam before he got his hopes up. “Just until the station is rebuilt so I can return to being deputy. Besides, I’d make more money as a cop.”

“You should be” he snickered, looking at him; clearly teasing. “But, in all fairness, you’re probably way too good at being a cop to give it up; plus you’re also the best cop in Beacon. And, I’m proud of you.” he said with a small smile, patting him on the back before nodding. “Yeah, that’s true. Wait how do you make more money as a cop than a fire fighter?”

“Probably. But you never know. Just a few years ago and I was the youngest. And with whatever’s been happening around here, it just feels like the supernaturals are gathering here.” But they had more immediate priorities, the one at hand was putting the pup in his place. Golden orbs flashed in response as she charged towards him. She dodged left, using her momentum to kick off the pillar and attempt to bring Liam down. 

“Fair, we’ll probably have more; probably be others at some point.” he said; barely noticing her charge toward him but he quickly dodged her attack; barely. Liam looked at her possible next move and tried to throw a punch toward where he thought she would move next.

“I saw Ethan not that long ago. I think he is alright, all things considered.” Lydia replied, shrugging at him. Nobody was completely alright with everything. “How have you been?”

“Yeah...I’m worried about him; with the Nogitsune. I’m a little worried about you and Scott, Stiles too if I’m honest. You guys had the worst experiences because of him...” he said after a moment, sighing. “I’ve been alright, had a sleep over with Scott a few nights ago.” he chuckled.

“Well soon enough you won’t be the youngest anymore. If it makes you feel better, I was the pup since I was born and pretty much till now. I’m pretty sure I’m not stopping my uncle and brother from calling me that.” Cora rolled her neck as she kept her hands up. “Okay, so I guess it’s my turn to attack?”

“Sorta, though I am probably going to be the youngest for a bit longer as I think I’m one of the youngest people in Beacon that know about the supernatural.” he said before nodding a little. “That, is how fighting works yeah.” he grinned a bit, flashing his blue eyes at her.

“Ice cream is always a safe bet honestly.” Lydia replied, sending Liam a smile. She just wanted to try to appreciate the little moments that she had left with her friends. “Alright, I am ready to go when you are.”

“Fair” he grinned a little, leaning on her slightly. “Lets go.” he said, heading with her to the ice-cream place. “Seen Ethan recently? I know you two are friends and I’ve not really seen him around with all the crazy stuff going on.”

“Takeout seems like a good idea.” Scott nodded. “I’ll order it shortly.” Scott smiled and nodded. “Sleepover for sure. Remember the last time we had one?” He said. “It’s ok, I mean, I’m dealing with them. I just wish you didn’t have to go through it.” He sighed. “Wonderful options I have. Alpha Abilities it is then. Or whatever else you come up with later.” He exhaled, smirking.

“Sweet, free food.” he grinned a little, looking at Scott before shaking his head. “Not really, probably around the same time I got my powers if I’m honest.” he said after a moment, looking at Scott. “I think I stayed at your place, the night after we got back from Mexico.” he said, looking at him. “After that I can’t, really remember.” he said before smirking. “Good, Alpha Abilities is a good name.”
