chapter 5
(all the time before i knew you)
“A woman on the bus today,” said Harry tentatively after a few moments of silence, “told me- She said that everything would be okay.”
“Yeah?” asked Niall, looking toward Harry with a curious smile.
“Yeah. She said- She asked if you love Butterscotch,” Harry told him. “And I said that you do. And then she said- she said that everything would be okay.”
Niall chuckled and his eyes softened. “Well, I think she was right, this fortune teller o’ yers,” he said, walking toward Harry and placing his hands on Harry’s hips. “Everythin’s goin’ to be okay.”
“She wasn’t a fortune teller!” laughed Harry, draping his arms around Niall’s neck, and he was so glad to feel that the tension had lifted. “She was just a- just a little old lady.”
“Mmhm,” hummed Niall in agreement. He studied Harry’s face, eyes taking in all of Harry’s features. “Yer eyes are so green, Christ.”
Harry’s eyes widened, face growing suddenly serious. “She said- she said, ‘Your eyes are just as green as hers.’ Maybe she was a fortune teller!”
“God, I love you, pet,” said Niall. He leant forward and kissed Harry, sweet and chaste.
“Play me your song, Niall,” Harry whispered against Niall’s lips.
