So I'm just a girl using this space to give a realistic view on POTS, living with it myself I'd like to share some tips I've found useful and just share my experiences. INVISIBLE ILLNESS AWARENESS!

Hi guys despite having pots I’m managing to do a photography course at college part time because it’s my passion. As a project I’m conducting I want to raise awareness of ‘invisible illness” like my own and show that despite sometimes looking fine someone can be struggling with a chronic illness that is life changing! I need help with this in the way that I need people who wouldn’t mind getting there photograph taken or submitting a photograph of them holding a sign with information, if you could spread this message I’d be really grateful and message me if you can help on here or at [email protected] ! I really want to do this tastefully and to show how strong people like us really are,

text: They say your illness doesn’t not define you and is not who you are, but I spent over a decade getting diagnosed and now all I can think about is how it affects my life and all of the things I cannot do. I have lost myself. I do not even know who I am.

I had my whole life planned out before it was changed by chronic illness. Now I don’t even know how I feel an hour from now, even a minute from now. Even though it has been hard I have learned that things don’t always happen how we want them to. I’ve also learned to not take being able to going out with friends, school, or as something as sine as sleep or eating for granted.

Naturally I push people away because I always feel like a burden. I know I shouldn't, and my family always reassure me that they want to help, but like I hate having to put up with this so why should everyone else.

Tip 2: choose your clothes wisely!

So if you're going to be fainting you don't want to be flashing aswell just to add to the embarrassment ! If you're wearing a skirt always put shorts underneath and avoid dangerous jewellry, another silly little thing but trust me no one wants to be waking up being stabbed by a spikey necklace;)

I mean I tell myself that it’s not my fault, but I feel guilty when I ruin things. Long dinners or shopping, or even long movies. I can’t sit still, stand in one place, or walk around for too long. The people that are close to be can tell exactly when I’m starting to feel bad, and the looks on...

TIP 01: LIQUID EYE LINER & WATERPROOF MASCARA

Heres a tip for the ladies who like make up! if you don't want to look like a panda when you collapse or anything then invest in water proof mascara and liquid eye liner!

Trust me, if you're going to faint why not do it in style?!;)

"You're Faking It"

After two years of living with POTS this is the most common thing I hear. 

IGNORE IT.

Eventually it becomes one of those phrases you just block out, once you have your diagnosis who cares what ignorant people have to say about your condition.
