You know how to find a song you love so much and you share it with someone and they don’t respond how you wish they did?
Music can so easily drive us to tears or to dance in our seats. Music videos, where the artist can emote their feelings for us to see, are even more moving as our reaction is only amplified when receiving their message and intention from more than one of our senses.
I love to sing and on that note, I went for my most favorite YouTube-famous singer, Yebba.
It was through Yebba’s music and voice that moved me so greatly, I understood why people watching “reaction” videos. Before, I did not understand their appeal! Now, though, I really enjoy them when it’s a singer that I adore.
Reason being, when I find a song I just love so much that I want to share, music is subjective and those I share it with might not be as moved or shaken as I am. With reaction videos, it is the easy way to share that experience and almost, re-live your own.
I learned a lot through this process. It is very nitpicky, difficult business. But watching people react at the same time and have these shared experiences at the same time is really fun. You feel a connection, while knowing very little about them at all, you know they have felt something, just as you have.
