[I'm gonna make this Petruccio an indie so-] [Unfollow or something to those still in the group]
With a content sigh, she continue to let her brother rest on her lap as she gently adjusted so she could be comfy while he rested. The suns rays were touching the floor, making it warm where it touched. With a smile, she looked to her brother and giggled. "the sun shines upon you baby brother... Maybe god is healing you as we speak..." she nodded having loved taking care of her brothers. It was rather enjoyable for the 12 year old girl.
Hearing her speak he lifted his head up, looking up and around. It looked to be a nice day. Perhaps they could play outside? But his body was still weak and worn out, it won't get much play time from it. That did not stop the warm sun shining into his room though. With a hand he reached out a small hand at the light.
"Warm!" Petruccio squealed, moving where he sat.
After seeing only minor bruises on his person, Claudia proceed to hold her brother, rubbing his back as she felt the tears sting her eyes. "It's okay..." she spoke softly to get brother feeling him cuddle her made her know he was okay. "I am here... And I won't leave your sight again!!"
Petruccio huffed sightly, never really liking having people always watching over him. Also, he saw it as a waste of time. However he was comfy now and did not want to be moved, pushing the thoughts to the back of his mind for the time being.
"Grazie," the child finally said some time after he felt his elder sister's heart return to the normal beat.
Having been worried about her baby brother constantly, Claudia did what she could to tend to her pettrucio. Family was important to the Auditores and that did not fall short for young Claudia. She always tried to feed him, even when the boy refused, she felt her heart sink knowing there wasnt much the young noblewoman could do. Claudia had been in his room before the fall, having opened a window for the boy to get some sun and fresh air. Claudia told him she would return and she did, just not in a freaking out state. She ran as fast as the young girl could with her legs, an heavy clothing would allow her.
Once she broke into the door, she saw her brother in a heap on the floor as she ran to his aid, to check to see if he was injured no less
He was sore, and skin would be bruised, but he was alright. The fall had shocked the child and he laid there on the floor confused for the most part. How did he end up here? Wasn't he on his bed?
Next thing Petruccio knew was being held by his sister. Once realizing he was there he soon relaxed and cuddle against her, listening to his sister's heart race. Did he scream or fell that loud? If it was his scream then the good news was that he still had one. Petruccio was a bit worried his voice would have ran away for he did not have the energy to talk much before.
It had been weeks since Petruccio left his bed. His illness had hit him hard as summer came and went on, because of this he was stuck being bed ridden. He had became a mess of skin and bones, struggling each day and night. However most of the time he was asleep, lost in a world where he was not crippled to where he lay. Finally the illness started to ease up, must to the child's delight. Fall had not yet came and he could now sit up in bed. Perhaps he could enjoy the end of summer within the next few days? Oh, he couldn't wait! Perhaps he would be able to start it soon? Like right now soon! Cheerful and over excited he wiggled and rolled till his feet hanged out of bed. Not too carefully the child took a step out of bed and fell with a scream and a crash.

Finally, after days and weeks and what felt like months of resting and stuck in bed, the boy was able to go on outside and get fresh air. He remembered this time to not get lost and made sure to know where he was every five steps. Slowly he eased himself over to the market and looked around for something to do or come back to with his sister to buy. Like a treat, or something.

Claudia kept the cool cloth on Petruccio’s forehead. The child was now asleep. She took the bucket and silently went out of the room. After tidying everything up, she returned to his room to watch over him.
All was well.
The child rolled around here and there in bed, laying sideways on it as comfy as can be. He stayed resting for a while intill he started to get too cold. Unwillingly he opened his eyes and looked around the room, mind foggy with sleep.
As Claudia walked in with what she went to get, she inspected the room. Petruccio was in sight and she exhaled a sigh of relief. She half expected him to vanish once more.
She put down the bucket and the cloth and moved to take Petruccio’s over shirt and undershirt off. Why so many layers were required was unbeknownst to her. Her hands were busied with dipping the cloth in the cold water and wringing out the excess.
As she put the cloth on Petruccio’s forehead, she spoke. “From now on, you will sleep in my room. You will let me know when you are going out and I will have to chaperone you wherever you wish to go. Do you understand?” Before she looked up at his face, she added, “I cannot bear to think what would have happened had I not found you in time. Think about me. Think about mamma and papà. And think about your brothers. We cannot lose you, caro. We simply cannot.”
She stood up and laid the boy on his bed, running the cloth over his neck and shoulders and chest to cool him down.
The air felt good on his skin once his shirts were removed. The wet towel however felt amazing. A pleased sigh came from him and his eyes fell closed. Slowly his body heat dropped, heading to the normal temperature it should be at. He was home safe and being cooled down, there was nothing else the boy could have wished for.
"Your room?" Petruccio did not mind sleeping with his sister at all, the only problem was that he was worried about his elder brothers teasing him about it. He felt bad for running off-he did not want to know what could have happened if he had not done his sister. Not wanting to think too much on it, his only other reply was a nod of his head.
Laying in bed the child quickly started to fall asleep. He was hot, worn out. The cloth felt so nice and it was hard to keep his eyes open anymore. Claudia wouldn't mind if he leave them close for a while, right?
Claudia caressed Petruccio’s face and felt his forehead. He was overheating.
“Petruccio. What you did was not okay,” her voice began with a harsh edge. “But I’ve already forgiven you…” she softened. She hugged him tightly and kissed his forehead repeatedly.
Claudia glanced at Petruccio’s little balled fist and gently pried it open. A feather. A dirty, measly, ruffled feather. I should have known, she thought to herself.
Once she had reached their home, she shifted Petruccio’s weight to one side in order to open the door. When she arrived to his room, she laid Petruccio down on his bed. “Stay here,” she said with an authoritative tone to her voice. She went to go fetch a bucket filled with cold water and a cloth, just as she had done a few nights before.
Hearing that Claudia already forgave him made him feel better, and so did all the love he got from her along the way home. Once he was in bed he sat up to try and tug off his shirt, it was too hot for it. Being told to stay put just got a nod from him as a reply. The child worked on removing his shirt. Unable to get the buttons undone he saw it better to get Claudia to do it.
She told me to stay in bed, didn't she? Petruccio thought for a few moments as he waited, feather on the bed. Or did she mean to stay in my room? Hoping it was the last choice, he crawled off the bed and tugged out his box of feathers. The boy fixed up the newest one before placing it inside the box and putting it back.
Before Claudia came back he crawled back on top of bed.
Claudia saw a small figure running towards her. She realized that it was Petruccio. She exhaled a sigh of relief. Even from far away, she could hear his ragged breathing. Petruccio attached himself to her leg; his breathing was heavy, he was sweating excessively, and his ever-pale complexion turned a deathly white. She was infuriated, yes, but mostly worried. Now was not the time for harsh words or punishments.
“I’m here, caro. I’m here.” Claudia picked the little boy up. “I really ought to keep a better watch on you… Come on, we’re going home.”
Petruccio just curled right up in her arms, resting his head on her shoulder. He was focus on breathing and trying to relax. His heart stopped racing and he shut his eyes. The feather that caused it all was held as tightly as possible in his small hands.
"I'm sorry," he was able to say after they were nearing the house. Petruccio was still wheezing and hot, longing to return back inside and get cooled down and rested up. He forgot about the fact he ran off and caused this on himself. All that was important was that he was safe with his sister and heading where he would get better.
