The most feared Orixá among all, known as Omolu, Omulu, Obaluaê, Obaluaiê, among other names. He is responsible for earth, fire and death, because of his power, he is so feared by humans.
Both in Candomblé and Obaluaiê in Umbanda it is synonymous with fear, as no one hides anything from this Orixá, he is able to see any detail of a person's life, he is also responsible for death as he rules the land and it is from which everything is born and it has its end. But on the other hand Omolu is the protector of the sick poor, as he knows the suffering of carrying an illness and does not want anyone to go through that pain, so he is also associated with healing.
Thus, Omulu has the great power to cause an epidemic, but at the same time to cure any harm. He always carries a wooden spear, the lagidibá and the Xaxará to scare away the bad energies and the eguns. No human can see Omulu without the straw, his glow is intense like the Sun, such an event would kill anyone quickly, that's why he presents himself dressed as Filá and Azé, the straw clothes, he is always bent over, as if he feels intense pain and Suffering.
Lord of spirits, mediator between the material and spiritual world, his significance goes far beyond appearance. He knows sadness and pain like no one else and is proof that everything can be overcome if he has the courage to move forward and the will to live.
