[If I were to reactivate this blog, would anyone be interested in RPing with it? I’d kind of like to, but no sense doing it if no one wants to do stuff...]
[Was going to work on replies tonight but all I really want to do is go to bed =__= I am approaching being the absolute worst at getting back on top of this blog.]
[I am officially still alive!
Just got back from family vacation. I’ve been in the car the past six hours so I doubt I’ll get anything done tonight, but tomorrow hopefully I will. I apologize like a million times for people who’ve been waiting forever on me, it’s been a rough couple weeks as far as inspiration goes =A= holding out hope that it’s going to get better...]
[FINALLY GETTING AROUND TO POSTING THIS]

Tagged by: turianbiotics
1. What is your name?
Oh, um, I’m Ness. Nice to meet you!
2. What is your real name?
Nesiata Dela. It’s a little bit of a mouthful.
3. Do you know why you were called that?
Not the slightest idea! It certainly couldn’t have been because my mother thought it sounded pretty. Maybe my father chose it?
4. Are you single or taken?
Single, and really, it’s for the best that I stay that way. I don’t want to... unduly complicate things.
5. Have any abilities or powers?
Um, well, I am a biotic, but that’s nothing special for an asari. I can’t even use biotics to fight, I can only do more utilitarian things with them. I’m a pretty good dancer, and I’m really really good at faking being happy for customers! I kind of have another ability too, but I don’t want to talk about it...
6. Stop being a Mary Sue.
I-I don’t even know what that is! But it sounds like you’re calling me names. That’s mean, you don’t even know me!
7. What’s your eye color?
They’re dark blue. Nothing really special.
8. How about your hair color?
It’s blue and made of tentacles, haha! Also it’s not hair. Hair is kind of weird.
9. Have you any family members?
Well, there’s my sisters, Silena, Emery, Tasia, Zola, Ravid, Aurea, and Maia! Ugh, and my mother. Do we have to talk about her? Can we not? Also, I guess I have a father, but I don’t know her.
10. Oh? What about pets?
I wish my apartment allowed pets! But it’s probably good that they don’t. I’d probably forget about it and it would die. But, um, I like mammals! And also reptiles! And bugs! With big eyes and little flippy floppy pincer hands. They’re so cute!
11. That’s cool I guess, now tell me about something you don’t like.
People who ask too many personal questions. Um, not to say that I don’t like you! I mean other kinds of questions! Please don’t be offended! It’s the questions that bother me, not the person asking them!
12. Do you have any hobbies/activities you like doing?
I love building model ships! I have a big collection, I’m trying to make an entire fleet! I also like comics, baking, watching movies, and going on walks in the Presidium park!
13. Ever hurt anyone before?
I don’t want to talk about it.
14. Ever….killed anyone before?
I really don’t want to talk about it.
15. What kind of animal are you?
Oh, um, I don’t know... maybe a chipmunk? Or a parakeet?
16. Name your worst habits
I kind of tend to ramble, and then sometimes I do things without thinking, and I cry too much at movies, and... um, I kind of have a lot of bad habits.
Oh, and I take things that don’t belong to me. Compulsively.
17. Do you look up to anyone at all?
I really really really look up to my sister Silena! She’s a commando, and she’s really strong. She’s out there fighting the Reaper forces! I wish I could be brave like her.
18. Gay, straight, or bisexual?
I... don’t really know, and I’m never gonna let myself find out.
19. Do you go to school?
Not since I left Illium three years ago! But I let Mother think that’s what I’m doing so she’ll keep sending me my pitiful allowance and I can keep paying rent.
20. Do you ever want to marry and have kids one day?
I want to. More than anything. That’s why it hurts so bad, I think.
21. Do you have any fanboys/fangirls?
I sure hope not! Obsession with a real life person never leads to anything good... But if I can get back on track with my acting career, maybe I will someday...
22. What are you most afraid of?
Getting found out. Being ripped away from all my friends and what of my family that cares. Having every single dream completely ripped away from me. And worst of all, having them be right to do it.
23. What do you usually wear?
Comfortable dresses. I really like the color yellow, so a lot of them are that.
24. Do you love someone?
Like romantically? No. I love my sisters and my friends, though.
25. When was the last time you wet yourself?
W-what an embarrassing question! Not since early childhood, thank you!
26. Well, it’s not over yet!
On a note like that, I should hope not! That would be a terrible way to end this survey!
27. What class are you?(High class, middle class, low class)
I... I don’t really know. My mother is definitely upper, but me? Lower middle at best. But I’m not starving and I have a roof over my head and a solid job, so I guess I’m doing pretty well for myself.
28. How many friends do you have?
I don’t know about an exact number. A normal amount I guess? I mean, when I’m not blowing them off without thinking because of personal issues... sometimes I’m not a very good friend.
29. What are your thoughts on pie?
Ooh, I love baking pie! My boss taught me all these really neat ways to make a fancy lattice, and there’s so many different fillings you can use! I also enjoy eating it! My favorite kind is strawberry rhubarb.
30. Favorite drink?
Tequila sunrise! It’s tasty and pretty. Even though tequila makes me super dumb.
31. What’s your favourite place?
My apartment. Does that sound pathetic? I guess it’s a little bit pathetic, but what can I say? I like having my own place, and it’s so nice to go home to.
32. Are you interested in someone~
Nuh-uh. That’s dangerous.
33. What’s your bra cup size and/or how big is your willy?
Th-that’s a bit of a personal question, isn’t it? I’m a B, if you have to know, but I wear padded things sometimes to look a little bigger...
34. Would you rather swim in the lake or the ocean?
Oh, the ocean! I’ve always wanted to swim in the ocean.
35. What’s your type?
I don’t really like to think about that anymore... um, but if I had to give one, at the moment human males are at the top of my list. Lanky ones.
36. Any fetishes?
Having my partner stay alive the entire time?
37. Seme or uke? Top or Bottom? Dominant or Submissive?
I think it’s safer not to speculate on such things...
38. Camping or indoors?
Indoors. I’m a spoiled baby of civilization.
39. Are you wanting the quiz to end?
A-am I done already? Great! Um, not that I want you to leave, I just--!

[writing while sick is hard, but I’m trying to actually get back into things D| this cold is gross, I feel awful.]
She did her best to keep her face placid as she listened to the young Asari’s story. The question had been nagging at her since the incident and while she understood the girl’s wish for privacy, the need to know was almost killing her. The information not only could help her understand the situation fully, but she had also been worried for the girl. And worrying about people wasn’t a thing she did freely.
She’d been assaulted?! Jaya’s eyes grew with the knowledge. Who would have the audacity to knock Ness unconscious right outside the club’s back exit?! Obviously someone who knew her. Jaya did her best to keep her voice calm and the fire from her eyes, but she could only do so much. She knew where the story was headed. “Who did this to you? What’s his name?” Her voice was pure steel and her hands were balled into tight fists.
“I... I don’t know his name. I think it must have been a customer, since he knew mine, but... I didn’t know his.” Ness cleared her throat and folded her hands neatly in her lap, the very picture of discomfort now. “He was human, and a man, and...” She tried to pull up a mental picture of her tormenter, but the only one that came to mind was covered in blood, lying limply on the floor at her feet. Suddenly nauseous, she raised a hand to her lips and looked away.
“He won’t... he won’t be a problem anymore,” she squeaked out weakly. This was no good at all - she’d planned to keep her composure if this sort of thing came up. This wasn’t how she wanted things to go at all. “He won’t. I promise you that much. He won’t be a problem to anyone ever again.”
[Otakon has come and gone. And now I’m sick 8I
Planned resurgence tomorrow.]
[Trying to do drafts, but it’s becoming evident that I am useless for anything not Netflix related right now. Gonna lurk.]
Eyeing the asari with guarded suspicion, the turian merely nodded to the other, noting her hidden exhaustion and not wanting to make life harder for her.
Following Ness without so much as a word, Varys entered the room and after closing the door, let herself relax. “Sorry about that, I’m not the best in new places….and I don’t like being in places with too many people…I uh..nevermind.”
Nervously walking over to a dress obviously not meant for a turian, she began to fiddle with the fabric, loving the feeling of it give to her talons. “Oh, I’m…er….” Mandibles flaring, her mind furiously worked to come up with a name for herself, something that could pass as just another turian name and nothing that would be easy to track her with.
Finally, after a very noticeable pause, she offered her free hand to the asari, a distracted smile on her face. “Call me Mari…as to how I ended up here…”
Her fist clenched the fabric, tearing holes in it from her talons, thought she didn’t seem to notice. “Military life just didn’t cut it for me. Parents kicked me out because of it, Spirits curse them…I knew I couldn’t make it anywhere else and well, dancing isn’t that hard, especially when you’re flexible from past training.”
Coming back to reality, Varys took one look at her fistful of fabric and began cursing.
“Shit, sorry, shit sorry for cursing and the dress i mean- shit!!”
So much for a good first day.
Ness gave a much more genuine smile this time as she took the offered hand, giving it a firm shake like she’d seen the human businessmen do. Mari. It was a nice name, she thought. The poor turian seemed awfully on edge, and having a hard time with too many people seemed like a disaster waiting to happen in a club like this - or any club, really. Ness really hoped the poor girl would be alright, both for altruistic reasons and because if she made a scene tonight, the young asari would probably foot some of the blame.
To the explanation she nodded sympathetically. “Military life sounds hard. I can’t imagine having to always do everything to somebody else’s tune. Or, y’know, fight at all, but that’s just me - I’m no good at it.” Then she wrinkled her little nose. “Parents. Ugh. Now that’s something I know too much about from personal experience.”
She could have taken offense over the offhand comment about dancing, but that would have been rude. “Dancing’s harder than it looks, though. But it’s alright. I bet you’ve got natural talent, and natural talent’ll cover you completely on some of the lower tables, and you can work your way up to the fancy pole tricks we pull on the center platform. I mean, unless you can already do that! Oh, but, I shouldn’t be saying anything, maybe you’ve been doing this longer than I have and... oh, I must sound like a total idiot!” she said hastily, not wanting to offend Mari or anything. “Well, I mean, if you can, you can join in on the grand fight for spots up there. I’ve been here a couple months, and I’ve only gotten one of them five or six times...”
Maybe a new topic was better - like, oh, fixing Mari’s little talon blunder! “Oh, oh, it’s no problem!” she assured the turian with frantic waves of her hands. “I don’t think anybody’s wearing that tonight, so we’ll just tuck it out of the way and let somebody fix it later... Right now we’ve gotta worry about finding you something to wear. I’m sure we’ve got something fit for turians around here somewhere...” She vanished into a back corner, rummaging around in crates until she found what she was looking for. Returning with a triumphant smile, she held out the dainty black little number. “Okay. You put this on, and I’ll run and see what they’ve assigned you to for the night.”
Passing off the clothes, Ness then wobbled her way over to a board on the wall. She could dance in these shoes, but she sure couldn’t run.
[Okay so that was a bit of an unplanned hiatus. Writers’ block like crazy man 8I but I appear to be recovering, so I’m going to get what I can get done out of my drafts folder finished before my game tonight. So sorry about the delay everyone waiting on me, but hopefully it’s over now!]
[So I’ve kind of failed at tumblr this week. An overall failing at writing is kind of going on right now.
My goal is to get at least one draft done tonight. I only have four, but it seems so intimidating...]
[Geez I am so sorry for lack of activity, guys. Been having a hard time muse-wise this week. Got my game tonight, but I’m gonna take another swing at things tomorrow. Hopefully it’ll work this time...]
[Muse is being a little bit picky. Trying on replies, but long things might still be getting put off. The damn muse is being incredibly difficult lately >I]
Well that certainly was true. Mental scars stuck around for years. Decades even. Physical trauma only stuck around for so long. At most you could have a scar there forever, but eventually the pain would fade. Emotional pain of that sort never…really went away, just dulled a little over time.
He? He wouldn’t be a problem anymore? So something had happened with a male, turian, salarian, human, krogan, didn’t matter right now. Immediately Jaya’s mind went to the worst scenario that didn’t involve Ness winding up in a dumpster somewhere. Had he forced himself on her? She’d defended herself, obviously, if so, but what had happened before she got away?
“Okay, that’s good to hear, at the very least. But, Ness, I have to ask, what happened that night?”
Ness bit her lip and looked down. That was it, the million credit question. She’d been vainly hoping that Jaya wouldn’t ask that, but she knew perfectly well that wasn’t likely to happen. She supposed if she were in the human’s shoes it would probably be the first thing she would ask about.
A nervous chuckle bubbled from her throat. “Ah. I knew it was too much to hope for that you wouldn’t ask about that,” she admitted, balling up her fists in the hem of her dress. “It’s a... a messy subject. It was a messy night.” Should she lie? Well, she could at least begin with the truth, she supposed, and from there she could continue however seemed fit based on Jaya’s reactions.
“Well... I guess it started with work at Chora’s that night. I was on break, and... and I stepped outside the back entrance.” She pursed her lips. “I don’t remember why. It seems so stupid a thing to do in retrospect...” She trailed off for a moment, then continued. “But I vaguely remember hearing somebody call my name, so I took a few steps towards it. Then something heavy hit me over the head and I guess I must have passed out.”
She paused for a moment there, uncomfortably eyeing Jaya for any reaction.
[Okay I got down to one draft and my steam just totally petered out. I have the most distinct feeling I’m going to be staring blankly at DBZ until bed.
Last draft will be done tomorrow.]
She could tell that Shepard wasn’t jumping for more praise - some people took it better than others, Ness had come to find, and those that took it badly did so in all different ways. She supposed it was at least a good thing that the hero was taking it calmly. She had known people who would get horribly offended at the slightest compliment. Still, it was probably best not to push the topic further. Really, she didn’t know why she’d said it in the first place.
“Um, yes, I guess it makes sense that you’ve never seen me. O-or rather, I know you haven’t seen me because I haven’t seen you! Or, um, I mean…” She was getting tongue-tied and babbling again. Goddess, how could she be so bad at this? She was fine at work, fine in auditions, fine on stage, but now she was giving in to what was effectively stage fright? She could do this. She’d be fine.
Taking another deep breath, she made herself calm down. “S-sorry. I’m rambling. But yes, I… work long hours. Then I usually head straight home. So you probably wouldn’t have seen me around unless you’ve eaten at the cafe where I work.” Okay. It wasn’t anything terribly meaningful, but at least it was coherent. Coherent she could work with.
Shepard waited patiently for the Asari to get her train of thought together. She was in no rush, and the alien was clearly nervous - pushing her for a reply would simply startle her.
“Which café would that be?” She asked, detached curiousity showing in her voice. “And have you any reccomendations?”
Small talk. Fuck. She’d not been good at this for a very long time. Shaking her head, she cut to the chase:
“You seem quite nervous - or at least excitable. Rather than talking about the simulated weather here, would you rather ask me anything of more substance?”
“Oh, it’s, um, it’s a little place called Bekah’s. Small place, very cute. Fruit tarts to die for.” Ness spoke very quickly, her nerves not leaving much room to stop for air. She was beginning to question the need for such discomfort; the commander had yet to act in any particular way that suggested fear was necessary in this situation. Still, the young asari was too starstruck to interact with the human calmly right now.
The next words, though, caught her by surprise, least of all because she was being called out on her horrid excitability. “O-oh... oh Goddess, I don’t... I don’t actually have any, um, any substantial questions to ask you,” Ness said, the color draining out of her face. “I am so sorry. I’m, I’m probably bothering you, aren’t I? I didn’t think about this ahead of time, I didn’t really think to plan out any questions...” She was babbling by this point. “I mean, I didn’t think I’d ever actually meet you, let alone talk to you. This was all just kind of spur of the moment, and...” She trailed off, looking away in embarrassment.
