Tenugui are traditional Japanese cotton cloths. They were originally used as hand towels and head bands, but are used today mainly in craft projects and as room accents and come in a variety of motifs. This charming motif, ‘Koi Pond in the Snow’, is part of a selection that I’m offering from RAAK. This venerable company was founded in 1615 and specializes in tenugui that feature striking designs on high quality cotton, dyed in the same tradition as kyo-yuzen kimono, which makes them resistant to fading.
