"Useless. Bumblebee. Do not call back until your mission is done."
Those were the last things Optimus Prime told him before cutting the call. Bumblebee fell silent, allowing the static to drown out the silence around him. In that instant, the world was swallowed up.
...He truly was alone.
Was this it? That's what he gets for making it into Team Prime? All those academy days where he was an afterthought for some, dirt not worth ruining the pedes of for others, his efforts to scrape by the bullying, him throwing Wasp to the wolves just for a peace of mind, him trying to prove everybody who doubted him wrong through many sleepless nights of study and training, his attempts to hold onto his pride in spite of Prime and his team's poor treatment of him... was this all he was? Useless, useless, useless... the words kept repeating in his mind like a broken radio signal -- like this stupid buzzing in his audials.
His spark was burning. His optics soon followed. He could barely register the sound of rubble crumbling around him and the pair of servos yanking him out into the light, but when he did he blinked. Soon, something wet ran down his faceplates.
He's caught. There's no help coming for him. He'll die by the hands of two neutrals. Not even a glorious death against the Cons was afforded to him by the Allspark. Now that he was swimming through this suffocating flood in his processor, his team probably never cared whether something like this would happen to him anyway.
"Bug? Brother, why is bug no responding? D-did he break already?" His body shook; a searing pain spread through his shoulders and all too suddenly, something clicked in his mind. Unforgivable... He gave everything to the Autobot cause. He did his best to weather through the hurt and venom slung his way, clawing desperately through insults about his size, his frame, his weaknesses and lowly station only to end up in the exact same place he always had been -- the very bottom rung of Cybertronian existence. In the end, what did he get for clinging desperately onto his pride? Abandonment.
He flinched. A cold servo roughly grasped his chin, jerking his head to meet a red visor and a blue optic.
"He seems okie... thought he would be fighting more," the wind jet said with a thoughtful look. "Maybe he accepting defeat? Will stay with us, yes?" Bee felt those burning servos on him pull his frame into a tight, suffocating hug.
"It be true? Bug staying with us??? Then it be more than okie!!" The other twin's voice rose giddily and he felt faceplates nuzzling into the crook of his neck. The heat coming from the fire jet seemed to cool yet feel all the more encompassing.
Ah... it's... warm. Strangely, Bee found his own servos reaching up to hug onto the other's arms. The wind jet looking at him parted his lips in surprise before smiling at him. They were supposed to kill him now, weren't they? So why was he smiling at him? Why was he being hugged? But if Bee has to be honest, he didn't hate this. This was far nicer than what the Autobots had ever done for him. But a part of him was still afraid; he was a useless coward after all -- a coward with too much baseless Autobot pride. Even now, he didn't want to die. But the Autobots never wanted him anyway so what was the point of clinging onto them and this worthless pride? If he had to die anyway, if he was abandoned, then...
The second Jetfire had let go of him after much of Jetstorm's prodding, Bumblebee flung himself right back into them with abandon, surprising them both. His own arms reached out to grab as much of the two as he can.
"...Please," he said. A strange feeling of satisfaction bloomed in his spark when he heard the twin jets' intakes hitch with shuddering breaths. "Do whatever you want, but..." He clung onto them tighter, feeling them return his embrace.
"I've had enough of hurting."
