Casey Neistat Does it All
Here at Live Astray we celebrate the individuals who don't follow the rules, but live by their intuitions and create their own paths. Casey Neistat is one such individual. After dropping out of high school at the age of 15, Casey went on to have a son at age 17 and live on welfare in a trailer park until he was dumped. Afterwards, he moved to New York City to pursue his passion in filmmaking with nothing more than $800 in his pocket.
Fast forward to today, Casey's become a Youtube icon and established filmmaker. His most famous work, "Make It Count" was originally intended as one of Nike's promotional campaigns for its new Fuelband. Instead, Casey created a work (sans Fuelband) that captured the spirit of his values and it went on to become one of Nike's most viewed ad campaigns, garnering over 12 million views. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a truly inspirational video.
