Dream Woman

I know what her kisses feel like, but I've never kissed her before. I know what her "I love you" sounds like, but I've never heard her voice. I struggle with the fact that she may not even exist, because she's too perfect in my mind. All of my relationships ended with me feeling dissatisfied, because I tried to make it work, and they were fine just getting by. But when I think of this dream woman, I can never tell if she loves me as much as I love her.

Even in my dreams

the sadness follows me. My mind is supposed to be at rest but the nightmares produce imagery that still bothers me when I wake. My heartbreaks and failures are on an endless loop. I'm so tired. If I can't rest while I'm resting what am I to do? At this point the optimism has been faded and paradise is just a word.

The Learning

When you’re young

everything is about you...and only you.

It’s not until you get older that

you learn to appreciate things that came before you.

Same Things, Different Phases

People are always talking 

about how no one 

is saying anything new or 

how something is cliche

but the harsh truth is that 

life is repetitive,

we’re just experiencing

the same things at different ages...different phases.

Like It Never Happened

I kept our situation

real close to my heart

like important secrets

that are starting to be partially

forgotten. They say life is what

you make it. But why doesn’t love

work that way? All that time we spent

together and the only thing I have to show for it

are just memories that constantly replay.

And over and over I ask myself, when did

the bliss turn into warfare? When did the romantic

spark become the flames that our relationship would

eventually succumb to? And what is the term for the type 

of deja-vu you feel when you see an ex lover and

it’s like it never happened?

The worst part about depression

is being forced to watch your world

crumble... while knowing that you could

change it for the better if you had the 

mental fortitude to do so.

Music is the only love

I’ve ever known.

The life of musician

includes many mistresses

and various almost loves.

But the music…

None of these women

made me feel like the music.

Until… Indigo

There was Clarke

but I knew she wouldn’t last,

our thing was a mere fling

an interlude to a valuable life

lesson.

Life is beating down

the only Giant I’ve known,

and Shadow is trying to

steal the only shine

I’ve ever cared about.

Until…Indigo

She puts up with my

random mood swings

and note changes.

She taught me what real love is

and how life is supposed

to sound.

Crazy Love

I was naive in thinking 

that if I treated someone like I wanted to be treated 

then everything would be fine. 

The fact is

that even if you treat someone well,

they will sabotage a good situation 

and then blame the world for their fuck ups.

You’ll be full of heart break,

and they’ll be full confusion and regret.

No lessons will be learned,

just a cycle being continued

while expecting a different result with every new lover.

Insanity.

Superhero

Good music is my superhero,

it has saved my life more times

than I can count,

and hopefully

it’ll never let me down

like the people who I thought

would never hurt me.
